  1. Then you were ill-advised mixing business with pleasure weren't you? I don't know of any company that wants to maintain data integrity that lets it's employees install games on critical machines. I'm also surprised that you're having so much difficulty, both with SF, and with the fact that it's there. ED said months ago it was there, and that it would install every time FC ran if it needed to, so why so surprised now?
  2. How does a patch thread turn into yet another starforce thread?? To the Devs, thanks and good job ;)
  3. If you remove the datalink, I'd have thought you really need to get AWACS to give proper Bearing Range and Altitude calls to give Russian fighters a chance.
  4. I think the diamond is a substitute for what we'd all like: a more communicative environment. In real life I reckon you'd have more information coming from the guys on the ground, particularly if you were on CAS duty, you'd have some sort of FAC or Air Liason guy helping you surely? The trouble with the diamond is it removes the possibility of the pilot mis-identifying targets.
  5. What is the nature of the AI's cheating? Is it bat turns, or extra long range missiles, or all-seeing radar? The bat turns were a big IL2 turn off for me.
  6. I've not had the problem you describe Roman, the only thing I notice is on my low end PC (marginal for Lock On really) that the cursor doesn't always respond as quickly as I'd like.
  7. What about these lines from the Camera section? Low { near_clip = 4; far_clip = 60000; structures = {30, 2000}; trees = {60000, 3000}; dynamic = {300, 20000}; objects = {3000, 40000}; mirage = {3000, 10000}; surface = {10000, 50000}; lights = {50, 10000}; lod = 0.7; } I'm thinking maybe the objects bit, but I don't want everything, just the ground vehicles. Thanks for help so far BTW.
  8. Hi all, can anyone tell me if there is a line or two in the config files I can change to increase the distance at which the TV screen (in the SU-25t)displays ground vehicles? I found an MFD entry, but I wasn't sure if this was it?? Thanks
  9. I'd love to see a Tornado sim, please!
  10. Particularly with the new Russian radar operation, it would be much more useful if AWACS called the actual altitude, rather than just low medium or high. Any chance at all? Thanks
  11. If you've got a HOTAS with trim assigned to a rotary, you can use the curve and shift functions within Lockon's input configuration to slow it down a little, I've found that helped me a lot.
  12. Rich, I watched the track, and have learnt from that, although you seem to be able to do things in a more relaxed manner than I end up getting in! For fun I then replaced the F-4's with F-16C's, and added a follow-on strike package of F-4's (just for extra targets, now that they hold no fear for me :D ). I realised the same trick wouldn't work with the F-16's, so what I did was to hang around on this side of the terrain at low level, hoping to let them come in close enough for a HOJ shot. However, at low level you burn through before they get close enough for a shot, so it ended up being a straight fight. Surprisingly I won, but I didn't employ any tactic other than staying low, trying to stay amongst the hills, and surprisingly dodging some missiles! BBQ, thanks for the clarification.
  13. Wow, excellent stuff! Thanks very much Rich & D-Sycthe! I'll give the track a look and see what I can pick up from the master ;) The depth of things continues to confound me - I assumed the F4's had the same kind of radar as me, and that I might be able to notch them, but if they don't have a pulse doppler set that wouldn't work would it? That might explain why my one good idea fails every time...
  14. In the attached mission I've set up myself and a wingy in German Mig-29A's against two Turkish F4's (one high, one good). Everyone starts on the ground about 50km apart, and I've even given myself AWACS support. Whatever I do I'm toast! They've got AIM-7's, I've got R27's, but they always seem to get me and my boy in short order. What would those who don't suck at air to air do?? Luft_Mig29_Intercept.mis.txt
  15. I'm happy because two nights ago I managed it for the first time since lock-on came out! Last night I did it again, followed by probably my second successful landing on the carrier!!
  16. Can't believe no-one's said CONGRATULATIONS yet! It does get easier, and sleep returns to you eventually, so hang in there! On topic: I think the 25T adds another dimension, i.e. SEAD missions, and if they were putting in all the extra avionics, it makes sense to do the AFM too.
  17. And if you never fly the 25T, you'll really miss out.
  18. Does the same apply to SAM's as well? I seem to escape them more than I used to, but I'd put that down to becoming a flying genius
