Decided to pursue my dream of recreating Hpasp's Sam Simulator, but in Unity. Just started several days ago, and obviously have a ton of stuff to do, including make my own models and program everything from the ground up. So far I've nearly completed the script I will be using to continuously calculate acceleration forces on the body of the rocket. I think the next step (aside from making some models and getting them imported) is to work on a script that guides the missiles to target. Last of all, I think I will work on the interiors and panels with GUI interfaces (think clickable cockpit). That part scares the bejeezus out of me, as I have NO experience with GUIs. All in all, this is a very rough plan of action, and I'm working at my best pace - slow. I'll try to remember to post updates as they are relevant. If this thing gets big, I'd like to start with a standalone release. Very future plans include incorporating it into DCS. Even if I have to do the scripts from the ground up again in LUA. Here are some pics - wish me luck!

HMS Marulken - Multiplayer Submarine Simulator In my 20 years of simming, this is one to back guys. Check out the links. Please. Lets get this thing going.

Is there any way or script I can use to be able to launch aircraft from bases or ships, like in Global Conflict Blue? Combined Arms is good, but I've been trying to figure out how to control air bases and carrier groups.

Wow, outstanding work as usual guys. Can't wait to buy the beta or release. Keep raising the standard.

What DCS needs to do before messing with any more effects is fix the F%&king contrails. Seriously.
-
Can we also make it look better? It's been the same since LOMAC 1.02. Microsoft FSX and even FS2004 looks MUUCH better at altitude.

Riboyster Sound Mod: BF-109K COMING SOON
riboyster replied to riboyster's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
This is where guys like Diveplane and myself come into play :) On the Topic of Cannons: I'm focusing on engine at the moment. Cannons will surely come. Keep in mind that finding a source for such audio will be tough. But either myself or DivePlane will pull through. Edit: It appears that DCS's cannon files are amazing. Probably just the .sdef files will need some work. Even in modding this, I'm very impressed by the files DCS is using. They just don't seem to be using them very well. -
Riboyster Sound Mod: BF-109K COMING SOON

I don't find it to be very restricting. Once you understand what each sound file does ingame, you're pretty much set up to mod from there. It's all about finding samples and refining the audio. -
Riboyster Sound Mod: BF-109K COMING SOON

Yeah I agree. Only just getting started. Modified a bunch of stuff so far, but having trouble deepening the motor and adding soundspace. It'll be something to keep me busy. -

One thing at a time :) -
Sorry to bring an old post back to top, but is there any way changing any of those values will enhance the jiggle effect. I recall LOMACs jiggle (and FC1) being much greater than it is now. Can I modify something to make it stronger?
-
Rafale. I vote that. Oh my god I would jizz everywhere.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

If you fly beyond the limits of the weaponry, there is no challenge. That having been said, it'd be really nice to see something like Sam Sim but in DCS. We've got the 3d models, now we just need the GUI and realistic switches. It'd be great to have users controlling airspace cooperatively.

You guys are making it too complicated. Keep it simple. Deploy flaps, fire a dogfight missile high angle. Or if you are guns vs guns, drag him down to thicker air and outmaneuver him.
-
As far as spotting it, fly towards its spike, look for the missile trail origin.
-
A more manly approach would be a dead vertical strafing run at idle throttle while releasing chaff. Keep it simple. Its radar can't see straight up, its guns can orient straight up.

^This. One step at a time. Edge is the next big project, so ED and community should focus on ironing it out and getting it bugfree before we attempt the next big project after that. Secondly, it would be unlikely that any wing surface would be able to generate enough lift to go high g if riddled with holes.
-
Good deal. Looking forward to them. Let me know if you want to check out my samples.

Running into the same problem you guys are. Seems the sounds are unchangeable. Must be something into one of the DLLs. Not feeling invasive enough to go that far into the Dev's hard work. Too bad, already have some great sounds.

Newsflash Just bought DCS Fishbed 2 days ago. The engine sounds (and ONLY the engine sounds) are subpar. Working on new ones now. Would anybody like to host my files when done? Edit: Will seek permission from Dev before release
