  1. Ok, have made a video. Not perfect, but think it explains most of the critical features of the overhead. A couple of notes to add. 1. if the break is made on the numbers, then the roll out point is going to be abeam of the same, very close to the threshold, and so the air brakes will need to be deployed directly after rollout. 2. The power settings are critical. If you come out of the first turn any more than 240 knots, it is very difficult to be fully configured and trimmed, before the final turn. Best setting i found was a rollout speed of between 200 and 220. (the official procedure is not prescriptive on this speed). 3. The procedure requires a gradual reduction of power into the turn. I found this impossible to do and manage the turn, and roll out speed. Easiest way was to set it before rolling into the turn. One less thing to try to control!! 3. I have not found an accurate way to determine the 1 mile mark, but by deduction, if you have turned correctly from the perch point, you should roll out onto final at this point. So here's my attempt. Looking forward to see other's, and all constructive comments welcome.
  2. Have a look at this thread . http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87650
  3. Jump into SP pit with TIR running (exclusive mode off), ALT TAB, check the game profile from the main TIR page. Repeat for MP. Compare
  4. You can interrupt the communication with JTAC, and talk to someone else (or even another jtac), by selecting a different radio mic button. This puts you back to the first menu for all the radios. You can then choose the wingman and give him some orders. Do the same again to get back to the JTAC, and continue with your JTAC.
  5. Surely you mean 'ancestors' :smilewink:
  6. Have a look at this, it might help.
  7. You might find these links useful for radio stuff. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87196 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61349
  8. And don't forget to modify the stick pitch and yaw profile, from the game settings menu. (make them less sensitive). Suggest start with a curve of maybe 20-30% and see how that feels. AND GET RUDDERS. Falcon does not need rudders because of the flcs. A10 does.!!
  9. Yes, that was my bad, and i did not see the significance of changing the attributes in anything other than the FLT PLAN mode. I have now tried making some marks, and changing the attributes, and can confirm that TO-TO and TO-FROM work. While we might not often need to change these attributes, i could see the sense in being to change for example the 2D/3D attributes. So another summary. 1. You can change the attributes only on a per waypoint basis, and how you do it depends on the waypoint type. 2. You change a default flight plan wp's attributes through the WPATT page (from the FPMENU), in the FLT PLAN mode. 3. You can change the mark wp's attributes through the WAYPT page 2 (frm the WP MENU), in the MARK mode, 4. You can change the added wp's attributes, through the WAYPT page 2 (frm the WP MENU), in MISSION mode. I'm still not clear about is the function of the attributes on the ATTRIB page (from the NAV page).
  10. Cheers paulrkiii, the AFMAN extract is just what i was looking for. And 300ft @ 1mile on final
  11. :megalol: Made one already :smilewink: But got slapped down for it. Trying to get the bones of a better one.
  12. Looks like u got the hang of it now. Its unfortunate the attributes from the NAV page does not work, as this would be the most sensible place to change it, and you have the required course visible, to allow you to tune the course dial.
  13. cheers, makes sense, Is there any alt loss on the first break ?
  14. So the procedure is no more specific than that. ?
  15. Pls don't hijack the topic. Cheers.
  16. Edit, I have changed the bold text below, from NAV to WP. Have revisited this and done some testing with 1.1.1.1, but cannot comment on the manual. 1. 3 ways to change the steer attributes, a) plan screen, b) CDU-FPM, c) CDU-WP, only a and b work (same as 1.08 ). 2. Only the current SP matters for TO-TO or TO - FROM mode. (don't think TO-TO is releavnt for anchor points). 3. The CI is slaved to the course between the last and the current SP, IF the current SP is in the TO-TO mode. Say we have wp1,wp2, and wp3. if we select wp1 as sp, then cycle on to make wp2 sp, the CI will use this course between 1 and 2 IF wp2 is in TO-TO mode. Similarly to slave the CI to the other course between wp2 and wp3, we must cycle through wp2 then set wp3 to sp (wp3 must be TO-TO mode). Or you could cycle forward to wp3, then back to make wp2 current sp. This would have the same effect. You can be sure that you are in the correct mode if these rules are applied, AND, you use options a or b for setting the Steer Attribute. The qouted statement above suggests that you would only have to 'change the current' steerpoint. That's not correct. It matters from which wp you cycle to the current SP, because for non terminal wp's, there always to courses leading to/from them. Hope this helps. From what i can see this functionality is the same as it was in 1.08
  17. Apologies, my bad, i diden't  and thanks for your kind comments.
  18. Hi all, I'm getting lots of confusing information as to the best parameters for this, and have tried it many ways. The most consistent for me is to break, snap throttle to idle, 1500 @ 300KAIS, hard 3g, with nose down maybe 2-3 degs. This brings me to downwind at around 1100, and speed around 220, pretty consistently, leaving me ready to drop gear/flaps, before entering the base turn 1000 @ 190. Rest is easy to manage. Would like to get an authorative opinion of how its done in the A10 (don't care about other aircraft). Cheers.
  19. Think its covered in detail here.
  20. OR you could start in the air, trim the aircraft and hit the AP button. That way you will know its not a problem with start up.
  21. Used your idea in foxy. Worked a treat. (dident realise we have these keys F13-F24 available to us. nice find). Code from foxy BTN S4 /I Teamspeak /O /P USB(D69) rem hold F14 /R USB(U69) rem release F14
  22. I agree, After trying the PTT key each way, the one with the least complications turned out to be the 'ARM' option, which is what i use now.
  23. Have you looked at this thread. If your still having trouble, post your profile and i'll have a look. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=79868
  24. My 0.02$ Intercom prerequisites/features 1. Intercom works from a cold jet i.e Nothing switched except intercom dial. 2. The 'hot mic' switch on the intercom panel is a red herring in 1.1.1.1. ignore it. 3. You need a friendly 'ground' unit parked at the air base. 5. The status of the AM,FM or UHF radios are irrelevant, they don't need to be on. 6. The intercom dial needs to be set to INT (interphone). 7. The MIC FWD is used for interphone (same as switch for VHF AM) 8. You can 'stack' commands, and they will do the work in sequence You might find some of this useful http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87196
  25. Describes radio operation. All feedback welcome. I have included the miz file for those who might want to play around with the radios. Thanks to WarriorX, for his great PDF on the subject. Fish046_Radios.miz
