+1 Su25A, Yes please...

Use the trim lights to see if you are trim-centered. /roll/pitch/yaw (left to right). When the lights are on, trim is neutral (reset) Also Use the Controls indicator to see how your controls are working, and trimmed. (activate in game with RCTRL ENTER, yaw pitch is not displayed ) If you're testing for 'drift' make sure plane is balanced, and there's no wind. Also suggest you apply a bit of deadzone for the roll axis.

For anyone struggling with navigation in the frog. If you are a beginner, i also recommend you view my A10 navigation videos, as many of the principles apply to both aircraft.

Question on Y and X axis point with headview
Fish replied to TheMoose's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Have you tried the keys: RCTRL RSHF + NumPad keys and RCTRL + NumPad Also you can create snap views or use the preassigned ones, to look at specific areas of the pit. .........but really, you gottta get your TIR sorted . :music_whistling: -
Too late for the poster, but here's a very useful logitech tool to help debug controller problems. You don't even install it, just run it. DiView. IMAGE

Hmm, Ive made my own list some time back from sitting on the runway end aligning the aircraft, and tune the HSI. Good to the nearest degree. Its easy to do, just make a flyable on the editor, move it and jump in. Generally I don't have to refer to it, as i'm returning to the same take off base/runway, and i've done my pre-take off checks carefully.

DCS World Black Shark 2 control importing
Fish replied to Flogger23m's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I guess you will be better starting from scratch. If u still have BS1 just take some screen shots (use window mode). They will help. To map an axis, you go to OPTIONS, CONTROLLERS, axis, and click on the item you wish to map (row), under the column for the controller u wish to use for it. Then when you click the ADD button you get the controller scree. Just cycle the axis on your stick, and the software should pick it up. -
For beginners to Black Shark.

Sorry Fimble, I don't have a profile for A10, as I migrated to VAC long before A10. Can't remember why, think it might been a problem with shoot and win 64bit.

cheers Quirk, yes understand that allright. But if it drives me from 40fps, to way over 60 (which is the refresh rate limit of my monitors, then im happy. No. Never did it for me, and good zoom/TIR/Pause setup works fine for me. Sacrificing FPS for duplicated information does not make much sense for me. I only tried this briefly, but its hard to drop frames to 1/3, after getting a taste for that 'smooth as butter' experience with the single monitor. Also not happy yet with how surround is implemented with DCS, side angles seem 'awkward' and unnatural, i know they are trying to bend a 3d image into flat surfaces, but they don't seem do do it as good as for example BMS has done. Maybe its a configuration issue. i think this discussion should be in a separate post.

Thanks for all the replies, and discussion. After new drivers, and some testing, i have updated the initial post.

Title says it all.....? UPDATE 2012.12.08 Very pleasant surprise. Ok I have got SLI to work with DCS world, A10 on a single monitor. I downloaded the most recent beta drivers from NVIDIA, 310.70, switched off vsynch, so i could see frames, and ran a quick test over Tblisi, with no video on pit mfd's, everything max, except, traffic, low clutter 0, trees 6k Tree shadows off. Frames No SLI 54 Frames SLI 80 Please note that this is a quick test, and i will set up some kind of bench and get a better average result. Also note that the actual fps are not relevant because all systems are different, but, i can say with certainty that there is a SIGNIFICANT boost to frames using SLI. Below are some setting information which i hope will help others.

Unless you need to change, stay with A10 1.1.1.1, until DCS world comes out of beta. I copied over my old profile, and it worked fine, but i'm sure i'm missing some functionality. That's ok, cause i don't use DCS world much, till it's patched.

After you have been in VAC builder, you have to 'switch on' vac again. If you right click the taskbar icon, click the 'VAC On' option. (the first image is what it looks like when ON).

Proccess of elimination. First make sure you inputs are correct. Use RCTL ENTER (Show Controls command), to display the mini input hud. (you might need to hit the trim recenter and let go of the stick for a couple of seconds). You might like to increase the centre deatspace of the x,y axis of your input device to be sure. If all is centred there, then your stick is properly configured, then the roll is due to aircraft inertia, due to unequal loadouts. For elevator trim, you got to set it (perfect position depends on aircraft weight, configuration gear flaps etc) . In fundamental terms the point of 'perfect' trim is infinitely small, so you can only hope to get close to it. (even the autopilot system will generate small oscillations around the control point). The closer you get, the longer interval between an input adjustment. Like driving a brand new car on a very long straight road, you will still need small inputs to keep it straight after you have pointed it in the correct direction to start with. If you fly you know most of this. :smilewink:

Great post. cheers

Well done A.J. If you only managed to remove the dynamic element to the commands, then that's a huge step forward for VAC users, cause it enables them to call the commands exactly as they see them on the screen. All the other stuff is a bonus. Looking forward to trying it out when i get some time. Cheers.

If you don't have TIR and or are not using 6DOF with it, then you should consider it. Everything is accessible with it. Here's the original thread... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69995
