Mission: Overwatch - plane veers HARD on takeoff
Fish replied to kharne's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Switch on the control input mini display with RCTRL ENTER Invaluable tool to see all you input activity. Think Trim reset is LCTRL t The tool above will help you check its working -
Don't forget you are releasing in CCRP mode, which even without laser, is pretty accurate. So the bomb will fall ballistically toward the target. The laser at the end is the 'fine tuning' part. 8-10 secs works all the time for me, regardless of altitude.

Think RCTL is available for most of the key combo's you need. Not that many, and I got it sorted in probably 15mins. And remember, in the assignment screen if the combo is used already, it shows up, so you just reject it and try something different.

Been to this thread before but had not the patience to grasp it. A 'UTM' post has lured me back now. Question remains for me. if i know the precision is 6 digits, and i only get a call of 4, then I just add the leading zero's in the correct positions in the string. But say the call is 6 digits precision, but I only get 5 digits. First i know that a a leading zero is dropped. But which one, the easting or the northing. is that the nub of the problem ?? Is this likely to happen in DCS ?

And don't forget to get him to 'attack targets at your SPI', when you find them. It may take all of your ordinance and his to achieve the mission objectives. If you pick up high threat targets, AAA or sams, you can narrow your command for him to attack those type only.

Tacan channel to briefing setting. Tacan mode switch to AATR (to right of channel input panel, air to air, transmit, receive) Tacan button on nav panel (front panel behind stick) to on. Turn to BPN1 (bearing point needle 1 on HSI, labelled '1') Watch the distance on the HSI (top left of Horizontal Situation Indicator). Oh, and tune into tanker on radio, and request refuel, cause he'll give you his station altitude.

Lots of posts/info videos around. Here's a couple of videos. If you need a mission file PM me. Lots of other resources also here http://dcswiki.com/index.php?title=DCS:_A-10C_Tutorial_Collection If you are new to DCS A10, AAR is not the place I would choose to start learning. :smilewink:

You are correct. You can easy test, if you change the mark, sensors should move to new point. In that case my suggestion is not the issue. Perhaps posting a trk would help.
-
If you have a spi which is not any of your mark points, when in Mark mode on the steerpoint switch, you have to 'release' that SPI, with TMS 'BACK' long, only then does SPI focus move to the selected markpoint. If you have already slaved sensors to 'SPI' (with CHN FWD LNG) those sensors will just follow the focus to the markpoint, and you are set. This confused the hell out of me for a while. Cause i got the spi from JTAC (rough position), marked targets, then switched to Mark mode, TMS UP long, slaved sensors, but none matched the mark points!! Because SPI was still the JTAC coord.

Don't be too greedy when you hook up. Better to fall back and reconnect, than have to do a full 'break' away because of excessive throttle. And don't panic when the 'disconnect comes' If you are pretty steady, likely you will only have to adjust throttle to get back to contact position. And forget about the hud completely. Concentrate on the tanker, and 'feel' the correct throttle position, rather than look at the numbers. AND Practice, practice, practice. You will be surprised at how practising accurate and disciplined flying in all non-AAR operations will assist your AAR skills.

My take on what is a very popular topic here. (you probably need to dim the lights to view it properly)

Sorrry for confusion :( . My china hat is mapped to my cougar radio switch, and its on the back with right left toggle, so i say it as i do it. my china hat right = Hotas china hat forward. Video has been annotated for clarity.

No, just means you have two controller inputs doing the same job. Multiple redundancy!!!

Blarney, if you don't see the axis in the boxes highlighted in red in chchlidfan's image, then click on the blank box there, choose 'assign' and when the window opens, move the axis, and it should assign it automatically. don't forget to remove any other device assignments which may be there for the toe brakes.

Cougar has the same option. I use it for refueling CURVE /U (JOYX,-2) (JOYY,-2) /m (JOYX,-0) (JOYY,-0) /d (JOYX,-0) (JOYY,-0)

Tried, tested, and annotated video. Cheers

My problem is pedals are connected to powered usb hub, and they disconnect when puter sleeps. Starting off in the air, If i forget, its quite a challenge when im speeding down the tarmac, to reach under the desk, disconnect and reconnect the usb, to get me brakes working. (don't think double sided tape will solve that one!!). :music_whistling:

Hmm. Wonder if we can get ED to implement a fix for 'Carpet Slip' in their next patch :music_whistling:

Hey kylania are you sure you want to do that. This feature is fairly unique among simulators, and adds to the realism of the sim. I know from your posts that you are a very experienced simmer, and am wondering if there's something wrong with your pedal controls? On landiing (with anti-lock on) I apply the brakes fully after sinking the nose wheel. I'll let off one brake a little if i need to adjust the alignment in that direction. After steering wheel unlock, at about 60knots, it can get a little techy, but you can let off brakes completely during this transition, and apply again carefully. (now i don't even need to do that). I don't have any curves on the toe brake profiles my 0.02$

No you are not! Don't know how that got in there :( Please download the latest one from first post.
