HP Reverb, WMR, DCS is totally broken for me in VR?
Fish replied to Crunchy's topic in Virtual Reality
Working flawlessly for me . This setup guide might help...…. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4075352&postcount=7 -
Hi, couple of pointers which might help you. Install SteamVR (as said above). WMR comes installed with windows already. Before running DCS VR, set the following. (you might need to 'disable' the wmr device while you do this, or make sure 'enable VR headset is unchecked in the controls, VR options of DCS). in Settings, 'UI Layer', bind the VR re-center 'VR headset' key to something easy on your controller. enable vr yes pixel density 1.0 use mouse yes cursor confined..... yes use hand controllers (your choice, but not needed), force ipd true, set to 55 (this will make the pit look life like and not doll like), use built in audio true. in the system settings, make DCS window mode, at lowish resolution (uncheck full screen). vertical synch FALSE Now when all thats done, all you need to do to fire up, Sit the headset in fron of you on the desk, start DCS,(steam Vr starts automatically) then put the headset, on, and hit the recenter key. (if you can't see the mouse, take off the vr, and click into the dcs window on your screen. YOU DONT NEED THE CONTROLLERS ON! With the re-center button, you can do a lot on the 2d screen if you need to with the headset on the desk. Mouse shows up as a white spot. If you need to get to the steam VR settings, a small STEAMVR 1.7.15 (or similar) window opens click on lines next to the title, then in the dropdown, settings. important one is applications, custom resolution, to 100% Video 'enable custom resolution, 150% (= 1968x1932 closest to the native resolution). Best of luck, nothing in DCS will be the same again!!

Luck in getting old Cougar Throttle to work.
Fish replied to Davee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Might need the cougar software...….. Better solution is to get a 'TQSUSBA'. allows direct plugin of TQS, and axes have improved resolution. No software needed, PnP. -
Kinda makes sense why it would work that way actually. Since you could in theory put the mouse cursor anywhere, you could end up with it behind you, and not be able to find it.

Just what I was looking for :thumbup:

thanks for the help. BARO WARN ALT working as expected. RADAR WARN ALT not working. (cant be changed). Still the siren is blarning below 500R. Tried lowering all volume knobs but no change. Makes low level flying very annoying. Can do a reset of the ALT from the option select button each time I go below the threshold, which removes the sound, until I do steep turn, and it looses radar reading, or climb over the threshold, then starts again. Could turn down the cockpit sounds, but not a good solution. Hard to believe it could not be modulated in the real f18.

Which one?

Hi All, Is there a setting to stop the mouse cursor following my head movement, and just let the mouse move it? Cheers

Hi All, 1. Can I set the high/low alarm altitudes. 3. Can I adjust the warning siren volume in the Pit. 4. Set my keys for the frame counter, but can't see in on screen. Where should It be? Cant see anything in the manual for these. Thanks

If those guys will help line up the launch bar to hook us into the steam catapult shuttle, that would be amazing.

TDC Slew : 'No command available...for device'
Fish replied to Fish's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the quick response. That explains it. -
Hi all Getting the pop up message 'No command available for this device' when I hover over my devices for the TDC Slew Horizontal/Vertical (mouse), and so I can't map an axis. Also they are greyed out on the controls - options. Note it is the same for all devices, cougar, TQSUBSA, Warthog throttle, Joystick, and MFG cross wind. Cant map any of these analog axis to the TDC. Happening with KA50, A10C, f18, SU25/T, SUJ27,33. MI8MTV2, MIG29. A10A. only module it don't see this with is AV8B. Any ideas? Cheers.

Thanks All. Doing better since restricting the manifold and revs. Shoulda looked at the plate on the RHS of the cockpit! Orso, your instructions are great. Did 'read' the manual, but dident follow the procedures. Gone back to It now.

Hi All, Having engine failures after 5-10mins flight, but cant find the cause, Take off with manifold @ 45in, and engine @ 2500revs. All instrument gauges look fine, and no hard maneuevers after takeoff. Only suspect gauge is suction, with needle on lower red line. Any ideas? Before engine break, After break

Just updated to 2.5.3, and bought a and installed couple of mods. Now each time I start DCS, I get the message about the serial number. I paste in the correct replacement serial for Black shark, and all goes well. However each time I come back to run DCS it asks again for the serial number. How can I fix this.?

Thanks for all the comments. Considering everything, and throwing out my own favourite aircraft, I'm going to recommend the L-39 Albatros for the following reasons. 1. Its a basic jet training aircraft in RL. 2. Its got the dual seat, so simulates a training environment (and I can help him get started) 3. Avionics are basic (not simple), so focus is on flying. 4. No HUD (by dismounting the gunsight), so focus is on VFR, and instrument flying, without aids. 5. He is more interested in learning flying, and not combat at the moment. 6. Got fairly good clickable cockpit, simulating realism. 7. Its a Jet and not fighter prop, so no complex engine management. 8. Advanced FM for realism. 9. VFR hood for pilot in training. 10. Excellent aircraft and cockpit modelling.

Hi all, I have a friend who want's to start flying DCS, and was wondering what aircraft would be best for that. He has no simulator experience, but scores high on the enthusiasm scale. I don't want to start him with something which overwhelms him, and thinking a prop with torque and visibility might not be such a good idea to start with. I considered MS Flight sim or X plane with a Cessna, but I think there should be something suitable in DCS. Cheers.

If curves on the profile help you to get started with A2A refuelling, then absolutely, go for it. Most difficult part of the process is getting the 'FIRST CONNECTION'. After time, you can gradually reduce the curve, so you get a good balance between normal flying and refuelling. The stick axes are the least problematic. The throttle is hardest to control, where a curve creates more problems that its solves, and spool up times complicate it more. Make sure you have an accurate throttle with smooth movement.

Do you have enough VRAM for your game settings? (use something like GPUZ to test it during game time).

Sad news indeed. My sympathy to his family and friends.

Hard to say that, since there's no indication of his monitor setup.......:music_whistling:

This is a process of elimination, and you should not need to do a complete remap. If its drifting left or right, then, look at roll and rudder mapping. If you don't have a rudder then its simpler. Use DIView.exe to check that all is well with your axes first. (PM me if you can't find a copy). then go to the game and remove the Key mapping (if any) for the rudder and roll controls. Now go to the analog AXIS controls and map the appropriate axes, and make sure nothing else is mapped to those axes except the one you want to use. Also make sure you aircraft is 'clean' so there no stores in-balance. In the axis tweak, section test you axes, and set a dead zone for each. You may have a similar problem with the pitch control but you can test that separately from the roll and rudder, as It has no impact on those. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Great work.
