  1. Hi Eddie, Thanks for your feedback, I'm all for knowing what i'm doing wrong and why. You might consider posting a 1,2,3 of the right way to do it, with an explanation of what the VLD, DB or HADB deliveries mean, and MSA's for cbu's, as it might help me and other readers of the thread to Plan the attack and employ the weapons 'Properly. (i found this post http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1392288&postcount=16 , but IMO it lacks context and references). Cheers.
  2. Hi Eddie, :( I suppose i did put myself in the lions mouth...., .....but the idea was to demonstrate a low altitude drop. I might be wrong, but I expect at that altitude I would have been well within the blast fragmentation radius for the mark82s or mk84s. The plan was to be at 1k AGL on pickle but that one worked so i left it. And yes 6 was probably overkill. There may be occasions however where such a low alt pass would be the only way to get into the threat zone without picking up the fire of short range or long range sams. Same goes for egress.
  3. In this quick quide, i demonstrate a low altitude, narrow burst configuration with CBU87. If you want more detail on setting parameters for CBU's, I recomend this excellent video..
  4. Have u tried BMS? (While the cat's away the mice will play...)
  5. check this video out....
  6. Hi all, Ive been editing videos in 720p MP4. I'm using camtasia studio for it, and it works very efficiently, but it wont create 1080p mp4.. Anyone care to recommend a good video editor to allow me to produce in 1080p. (don't want to have to pay too much for it). Cheers
  7. Cheers for the update Blaze. :)
  8. Not sure if anyone mentioned. But you have to have the ALQ 131 Pod loaded to Jam!!! You might find this useful. Note around time 14:35
  9. EVEN BETTER, if you have'nt thumbed Coord's into CDU as new WP, is to 'MARK' it, after hooking. (TMS RIGHT SHORT) Then u never loose it. OR, (after SPI'ing it.) hit OSB 17 on TAD and add it as a mission WP .
  10. Assymetric load out will have an impact, but wont affect the HUD. Wind always 'blows' the FPM symbology 'downwind', so to stay on course you point the nose 'upwind' For assymetric loadout, apply roll trim to keep aircraft level. (All only after rotation).
  11. Hmm, know very little about the triggering of the mission builder, but on an item of logic maybe someone can answer. What is the difference in taking 10 numbers and randomising them, then stepping through them in the random order, and taking the same 10 numbers, removing the first, then randomising the remainder and removing the first of what left. Does the first approach not yield the same result, the randomisation of the sequence of numbers. I'm sure i'm missing something here.
  12. Don't believe so. Only ever been able to choose a 'player' from 'unit 1 of .....' units. But you could make another flight, and 'tag along'. You wont be getting requests from it though, you will just be a different flight. Think the 'Group ID' is in the sequence of the flights created, so you could even join the net for the other group, and get the radio chatter. Not sure about spi's and stuff.
  13. :music_whistling: Not any more. (1.1.1.1). Both TAD cursor and Mav cursor now behave same way to slew setting. LARGER IS SLOWER
  14. Really? Does not leave much time/distance to 're-trim' to get pitch(AOA)/sink rate b4 touch down.
  15. Hmm, time out guys. Thank you for you comments, and support, and i believe all posters are positively motivated. Frostiken Yes, i know there's a few things left out, and not covered adequately. Did notice the 'out of control' bit, but decided it was not worth another take'. Agree I should have gone back to AP (though i rarely use it in normal flying). The challenge is 'controlling', 'taking actions', and explaining at the same time. Might have to drop one and use AP. However, I don't see it as the show stopper you described it, and there are more fundamental 'missing's in video, which i would address first. The SPI stuff could have been explained more clearly, as it is the most fundamental aspect of the TAD. I was not aware of the Flight plan option from the TAD, thanks, I will take a look at that. On the issue of the hooks, I think it was covered adequately, and provides enough fundamentals for a pilot to help them in developing ingress/egress/JTAC tactics. The key message to take was the use of the EXP modes with the hooking functions. Once a pilot starts to do that, then the ingress/egress and target stuff will fall into place. The videos to date have not really focused on tactics. Also biggest learning for me with this one is to break the vid into manageable chunks, and not to try to do it in a single take. That way each 'block' can be adjusted without a full retake. And once again Thanks for your feedback, Its the reason i continue to make these videos. Fish
  16. Comprehensive description of the TAD in DCS A10. Includes Moving and Fixed modes, Object and symbol display/hide, Screen and map scaling, Sharing SPI, FPLAN and MARK modes, 'Using the hook to find and mark a bullseye call, Network config, Managing FAC pushed target points. Hooking modes, including ownship, and BULLS to Cursor, and beneift for marking, and coordinates, and hooking air objects.
  17. You should look at this excellent tutorial by excessiveheadspace. Shows the limitations and positional geometery, and errors in positioning, and the need for using the laser to improve mark accuracy.
  18. I landed without wheels b4, think in su25T, and from touch down there's no control, and if you spin off the runway you can be in big trouble, and can flip. As you see in this one, i was able to control my run down the runway precisely, up until i dropped the nose, which was around 60 knots. So that worked good for me, and i still had some control with the wheels. Dunno how it would be done in RL, but i expect the safety of the pilot would be paramount. Remember also that the part of the nose which hits the ground is gonna be a fairly hefty lump of steel structure (the gun) which is unlikely to go anywhere at that speed, so i figure that the fuselage is unlikely to fracture.
  19. Cheers for heads up. Updated now contains BS and A10 profiles.
  20. Sure, its at the bottom of this post.
  21. You can map the 'Absolute Longitude Shift Camera View' map to a slider or rotary, or map shift camera back and forward to keys of your choice, Video 16:30 Video 17:00
  22. Some people have had questions about my TIR Setup, and I have made this video to show how TIR is setup and tuned, using the A10 profile as an example.
  23. Might be a post for Natural point, but does anyone else have the problem of TIR using The Black Shark profile for DCS A10 ? (And yes, my software is up to date, as are the game profiles). I can get over it using the exclusive setting, but that's another thing to do when setting up. Please, no suggestions of DCS re-install. Its a brand new one, 7 days ago Cheers.
  24. Broke the wheel on take off, but wasted no time to ditch ordinance, and emergency land. And the ATC had the audacity to ask me to 'taxi to parking area'.. Skip to 6mins, if you don't wanna see the startup.
  25. Ha, Happened again in 1.1.1.1. Used the opportunity to try a landing without the nose Wheel. Worked out pretty well, once the speed was low enough before dropping the nose. Included the startup (x2 speed), for completeness. Taqke off starts a 6:00 if you want to skip the start up. This is a modified 'in the weeds' mission, which I have practicised many times, with no issues. Failures are off. Nothing unusual about the weather. I did pull up on the stick more dramatically than i usually would at around 160knots. I can post the trk if anyone's interested.
