Dual Core 2 Choppy performance
JaBoG32_Prinzartus replied to H4rM's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Intel Core 2 Duos do not have this issue. AFAIK. At least mine works flawlessly in regards to this issue. -
RAM is easier to extend caompared to GFX Power. Especially when it comes to Laptops. Get the faster GFX card, and upgrade RAM a little later. my 2 cents

THG just presented an article about the new Nvida GFX Card. http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/11/08/geforce_8800/ That thing should rule LOMAC FC from the GFX point of view, finally. With this card, all settings to HIGH and ON should be no more problem, neither with hi resolution nor with extended view ranges. Hopefully BS will NOT require such a card to be played in an acceptable way. Looking forward to some screenes from lucky G80 useres.

F-15C + AIM120 So Unfair!
JaBoG32_Prinzartus replied to Tropikal's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
maybe anyone mentioned before, but take it as a challenge to fight in the russian planes. Learn their advantage, be aware of the opponents (f15) advantage and use tactics ! Be a good pilot, and and you will rule on most average skilled eagle riders! And if you think the F-15 with a good pilot is unbeatable, then just dont go offensive on them, just try to stay alive. And wait for the right time! BTW, the russians also have fire and forget missiles! Kepp that in mind. It was frustrating for me (and sometimes it still is) to get killed by some "cowardish" f-15 pilot who spams his missiles into every direction. BUT: Wouldn't you do the same when flying F-15? Learn to fly the Rusiian crates well, and show the F-15s "who's da boss!" :pilotfly: -
What's your resolution

From a tactical point of view, I'd say if you find yourself in a brawl, something went wrong. It is a rather uncontrollable situation. Hard to tell what to do exactly, but try to establsih a controllable sitation. Probably best: go defensive, reevalute threat situation, and if possible, come up with some plan and act to it.

2 videos BS???Coming soon
JaBoG32_Prinzartus replied to curli's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Are there external hosts (for the two videos) somewhere? Forgot my lockon.ru Password and PW retrrieval does not work! Wanna see those vids now *waaah* -
Reading this thread is like listening to virgins talknig about giving birth to twins! :) I assume no one knows quite enough about all the subsystems in details and as a collaborating unit of the 5th generation fighters to give a prospected kill ratio of a potential 5th generation's fighter clash! Maybe secret service agents do, but they never say the truth, anyway ! That's ridiculous and childish!

Different 3D-Trees implemented?
JaBoG32_Prinzartus replied to JaBoG32_Prinzartus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It is the fact, that if you mess with the tree clipping range the trees look different. I changed the clipping range just from 8000 to 10000, which is not a drastic change. At least they loose the "look through - transparency effect" as it seems to me. "Normally" the tree transparency increases with the distance. Therefore you can not definately see the line of the clipping limits, because at the that distance the trees are alreay 100% transparent. On the First and 2nd Pic it seems as the tree loose the transparency effect, so they look brighter than the rest of the environment, but you can definetly see the clipping range limit. And that's what is strange. I wonder if the Devs know about this... It is not a big problem, just strange, and interesting. -
I should have posted the question here, but I posted it there: :helpsmilie: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=17651

I discovered quite good improvement from switching from athlon XP mobile 3000+ to Pentium D805! Grafix is also very important; But I tend to say, that 512 MB Ram is to few, 1Gig should do it. Cant say if there is huge improvement if one has 1,5 or 2 Gigs. I doubt it.

I have found a very strange difference in how trees are rendered in Lock-On. I just edited the tree clipping range via Modman, as you can see in the screenshots! The difference on the trees is quite obvious. Can anyone explain this, I dont understand this behaviour. BTW: Maybe it has somethink to do with the Tree Mod, that adds trees around the airport? Is this tree behaviour reproduceable by others too? ------------------------ Pic 2 and 3 show quite the same region from the same altitude and shows the difference quite well.

Lines in the Sky
JaBoG32_Prinzartus replied to warthogmadman987's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Try changing your gfx settings from 16 to 32 Bit (color depth) and te lines will dissappear. Although this might cost some fps. -

Wow, that's the way I like it! Wonderful! -
Had 'em both! X52 looks too spacey, but is very smooth and worth any additional dime! Price/Utility Ratio is the best! If it were not that ugly. Although the brushed aluminium is quite fancy. But the blue LED make it look like a UFO's Stick :joystick:
