I see the su-27 issue this way: It is early 70s in the Soviet Union. You are a mig-23 pilot, you know your airplane is not nearly as good as the new f-15 or the light fighter f-16, even worst some of your pilots friends think that it is mediocre and not a worthy replacement for the mig-21. But you are lucky... at least you are not flying an su-15. Then in on the eighties you are a sharpshooter pilot, and the party tells you that you are to fly the mig-29. One day at the base you see your first mig-29 and su-27 demo. Amazed you see that it can take off in less than 400 meters, it can do tailslides without going into a spin or loosing the engines like it would have happened on the mig-23. Then it does a suden pich up to 110 aoa! Later that day you get a brief that tells you that the mig-29 and su-27 matches and in some elements betters the americans. In some other elements your new mig and su are a bit behind but you are told that upgrades are comming.... fast fortward; it is the year 2001. Russia is recovering from the Fall of the Soviet Union, and you are still waiting for those upgrades promissed back in 1989; even worst you already know that the export version of the same aircraft you been flying has all the upgrades you needed; you also know that the f-15c and f-16 are not the same fighters from the 80s..... We russian flanketeers and mig pilots are in the same situation we are still flying a 1984 mig and su-27; while our enemy is flying a newer f-15c.

all fighters should be painted like the Japanese eagles, just like the red baron flying circus!

1st Gulf War One USN FA-18c Lost to Mig-25PD

can you post the rest of the file? -
Very sad news, RIP for the pilot. For some reason most crashes at airshows happen the same way; so far I have seen an at-6, a spitfire, f-18, f-16, 3 su-27s, a mirage 2000, and a pits crashing the same way. I wonder if there is something that can be done to prevent this kind of accident. Maybe a spotter to help the pilot get better orientation during the show?

what about the mig-29 it is supposed to have better T:W, late model f-16s and the eurofighter?
-
I did some testing today and now the f-15 out accelerates the mig-29; it also out climbs it... wasn't the mig supposed to have the best climb performance? Also the eagle turn performance seems too god to be true.

It had rudders but as soilers at the wings. Now imaging if you loose one of the engines at low peed with full trottle; with those widely separated engines it would mean big trouble.

Why don't you guys just release DCS: Flaming Cliffs?
mikoyan replied to VVanks's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Do you see any simulator that reproduce the f-15, a-10, mig-29,su-25,su-27, su-33 and black shark better than lomac and Black Shark, I don't if you don't like the sim why do you have a pirated copy. It is because people like you that the sim industry is so small. I made a commitment my self to buy all may sims legally because I have seen here and in lock-on all the effort that it requires to produce a simulator; also I help ensure that in the future we could have a better product like the one you are asking for, like if it was like getting an orange from a tree. -
It looks like it has a similar system to the su-27 a lower grill and a second on the sides, the t-50 may have a ramp like the su-27 to prevent fod damage. This is the first prototype, it doesn't even has radar, so it is just a test airframe to see the aircraft aerodynamics and performance. they may even change the cockpit. the su-27 prototype had the same cockpit design and they change it on the final version. Also lest not forget that the raptor like the su-27 got redesigned too. there are some pictures of the engines and the banes in front of the compressor blades are black...I dare to say that they may be covered with ram paint. The russians are not totally new to stealth paint coat, there was an article form the 90s- 2000s that said that they had a su-25 painted with a special paint to reduce radar signature, the funny thing is that this airplane was placed on display at the Monino Museum by mistake but it was retired shortly after some find abut the mistake.

yesterday while I was on my third sortie with 3 kills under my belt on the a mig-29 I expereinced a very bad mechanical failure! I took off on full military power; flew at 100m going low between the mountains but my mig started to do some weir stuff. The airplane started to roll the to the right, but I was able to maintain control of it, but after a few seconds the airplane started to oscillate violently to the right then I though hu... this is feels like I lost part of my wing; a quick look to my wings revealed that that was not the case; then I though hydro failure? but there are no warning lights on? and betty is very quiet. Did I hit something that messed up my airplane? then, I remembered that lock on doesn't model flight control failures like a broken actuator. Only then I realized that the culprit was my x-52  but it was too late for my mig so I let the roll develop and ejected wen the jet was level! saving my vitual pilot life! :megalol: the mig was a total loss but no virtual civilian property was involved.

practicality vs lest optimize by building something ultra- efficient and suited for the task even if it is super expensive.

considering how many hours, how many megawatts of energy I have spent, how many girls I didn't met because I was having a dogfight with you all. no lifes like me, how many joysticks I have bought and destroy, how much worst my eyesight got(700 on transition lenses with anty scrach surfaces, that got scratch anyway), how bad my back hurts... I think lock on is very very expensive... just kidding I think it is cheap if you don't account all the previous aspects I mention.

my low end imac gets slower but it looks about the same than in lomac, it is also lots of fun flying the chopper with the map off.. without knowing what is behind the clouds!:joystick:

I was hoping to see the donwload button here! but instead it says soon! whaaaa:cry:

chinese Gov has hackers for that! they don't need to buy anymore... they also are getting better at building their own stuff.
-
so... what are the causes of the problems with the airbus? lets not forget that the brazilians are going to build something to compete on this market; several countries in South America what to join the project too.

Don't tell me that that u-2 was the one I think it is?

It is too neat to be Soviet, american waste time and money making their airplanes so nice.:megalol:

the f-15se my be a hot deal since it would have some of the good stuff from the f-22 and lets be realistic how many countries are going to have stealth aircrafts? the f-15se may be about enough to deal with eurofighters rafales, su-35s and older aircrafts. I'm a bit disappointed with boing since they didn't go deeper in the modifications to the eagle. I felt the same (a 100 times worst) when they came up with yf-32; how come they got all that engineering wisdom from Douglas to came up with that?
-
so what is the unit cost of this thing? if it was me I would buy a c-17

the superhornet and the raptor can do a similar maneuver but I guess with less aoa since they don't have 3d vectorial engines. this maneuver may be useful on very few circumstances. I say better have such capabilities than wishing to have them. what about the last part of the video, what was he saying while holding that chinese model? did he say that they help build it since it looks like a bigger yack-130?
