I think that the raptor also creates lots of drag since it has big delta wings but compensates with the engine power. One thing to note is that the pack fa is a big lifting body and may have low wing loading. They design this jet like a flanker to retain airflow symmetry at high aoa

They are small but remember they are full moving parts not just rudders, and I think they work together with the elevators + the vector control

I'm glad sukhoi made it similar to the yf-23, At least its coolness didn't die (no I'm not saying that sukhoi copied the yf-23)

Is it true that if you loose the engine on he an-2 you just have to pull the stick an let the airplane land by itself by dropping at really low speed? that is what I saw in an Antonow documentary, they said that the stall speed is sow low that the airplane would literally float until reaching the ground.

What I read and saw on magazine articles and several Argentinean documentaries was that the Argentineans pilots were very brave but lacked equipment and better training. They did several attacks on ships using bombs but most of then failed to explode because they were not designed to be used against ships, they also blain the bomb fuses, because they couldn't get them to explode at the right moment. The Argentineans also had to fly a lot to get to the fighting zone, so they couldn't take chances fighting the harriers. The mirages were better at altitude, but the harrier had better chances staying low. the harrier AIM9 was all aspect but the British never got the chance or never tried to use it on head on engagements. The Argentineans also had trouble using their A-4 at decisive moments. The Argentinean Navy couldn't launch their A4 from their carrier because they had to load lots of fuel and the weather conditions didn't provide enough wind to help get their A4 out of the deck. The cool thing about the Documentaries (spanish History Channel) is that they give you both sides of the story. On the documentary the British sailors admitted that in some of the Argentineans attacks they were very surprised on how brave and bold the Argentines fought. On the magazine I have about the Malvinas or Falklands War the british pilots say that the enemy was brave but didn't have the training to use all the advantages of the mirage III, but they also comment that at the beginning of the war they were concern that at the high rate of engagements was going to create casualties for the British, casualties that they could not afford for too long.

and...yeah the muzzle flash would be cool but I don't think ED is going to implement new effects on the lock-on, but who knows maybe there is a chance since they are improving the ballistics on all the guns

The ai model has some bugs last sunday I made a mission to intercept 3 mig-23s and 2 su-24s. I set 2m/s wind to the North. I intercepted an destroyed 1 mig, my wingman got another from long range. after that I went to into a dogfight with the 2 su-24s. I got them but I started to wonder... hey were is the third mig? I had a ground radar set up on my mission so I found the mig on my radar display, but could not get a lock on him, so I hit f2 to see the runaway mig-23 and discovered that it was at 23000 mts and climbing doing some kind of post stall maneuver. the most astonishing thing was that the mig reached 65000 mts! doing this weird post stall thingy! I have the track if someone wants to see it!

That is an su-33, same model that we have in lock on but there are several things that were not implemented on the simulation, for example the su-33 has emergency power, something similar to what you can use on il-2. some modes on the multifunctional display were not implemented and the datalink is missing some stuff, if I'm not wrong the ailerons and flaps work differently on the real jet. I guess Ed didn't have the info because it was classified? I saw on the news that the russian lost an su-30 on the sea after the arresting cable broke and the navy decided to blow the airplane since it was to deep into the sea to avoid the risk of some one else recovering the airplane.
