I was in a similar dilemma, but with Harrier and F5... I've always thought the F5 as an awesome plane which closed the gap between modern jets and cold era jets... It's a fun plane to fly, but if you go multiplayer, you're going to get hurt fast... Just can't keep up with the better jets. I knock F5s out of the sky in the F18 pretty often before they even know it. That being said, F5 is the where the F17 was born from which was meant to compete with the F16... But due to cost air force went with F16 (single engine etc). In turn, F18 was created for the navy which wanted a dual engine setup from the F17. So you can say F5 is the granddad of F18 if you like history. I ended up getting both the harrier and the F5. I'm not flying it much though. Prefer the harrier... Depending on what you want to do, it's going to make a difference. if you do mp alot, get the Mirage... if u wanna do SP and fly campaigns etc, F5 is alot of fun

Hey guys, Lately I've been really enjoying flying the AV8B on MP... I'm doing missions where I drop GBUs on buddy lased targets. Really having a blast... However I have this random issue I can't figure out the solution to.. if I do 10 runs, out of 6 or 7 of them the seconds timer for the CCRP release just kind of disappears... it slows down significantly then just gone. I make sure the line on HUD is in the middle of my diamond... Sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't. I tried diff altitudes and everything. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hey guys, Recently I started playing on multiplayer servers just for the dynamic fun... Thing is, Some servers require you to be on discord AND some other stuff like SRS or CGI or something. I have no idea what these are... Can you guys enlighten me a little? I do have discord. I don't use it much, but I do have it... That's one thing. Now how does this other stuff work? am I right to believe it interacts with DCS and you can tune freq from the comm display etc or something? I'm going to start doing my research now, but I figured I ask first. Thanks!

Man, I got frustrated yesterday and gave up. I can't even make contact. Closest I got was almost in the basket, but I oscillate too much when it's close trying to make contact. I over correct each time.

None of these are key mapped? I just downloaded the F15 and it's all empty in the programming software

I can't even get the plane to refuel... I get on comms and request pre-contact i'm told to fly 8000, and I do... Nothing happens. lol I've never been good at a2a refuel (only tried in A10C, F16 with BMS, and always have sucked lol)

I'll take a pic for you guys when I'm flying again. It's pretty sweet... but little narrow. I wish it was slightly wider. they say it's 27 monitors together. Sure, but it's narrower still...

Hey guys, So I recently got a new computer and I would have thought my FPS would be slightly higher... The rig is a i7 8700k with 16gb ram, (overclocked) and a msi 1080ti gaming x. My. Monitor is the Samsung ultrawide 3840x1080 49" monitor. Running settings on high with ssao I think on 1.5 and few other things I'm getting maybe 50-70 FPS in the f18... I haven't really tried other planes yet w the new rig. I know ssao at 2x dropped my FPS to like 25... There are some tweaks you can do... Can anyone give me some suggestions or a guide? I see people running at 100 plus in 1440 etc... Mine is a 3840 but still a 1080. Thanks!

YESSSSS. It's been a while for me too, but I remember this! LOL I would just think with a FBW type of plane where you're not in direct control of the control surfaces... a boeing engineer would go... "hmph" this thing points to earth when the pilot deploys flaps. Let's modify the FCS so when flaps come down, the plane pitches up 5 degrees to counter it... OR SOMETHING. I would shit my pants if a plane did that in real life lol

THANK you regarding the flaps... JEEZ I was in an article yesterday saying how planes they've flown pitch down when they deploy flaps... Even though I haven't flown any fighter jets, I've flown planes sized from C150 to Kingair 200. all the planes I've flown wanted to pitch up when I lowered flaps. and you know how I remember this? I remember I'd get immediate pressure on the yoke and I'd have to push it in and trim for it right away. I even shared a video of my flying a plane on youtube from over a decade ago. that being said, I've noticed there are SO many chair pilots here. Including maintenance crew people. Sorry guys... It's not the same. I didn't ask my A&P how to fly my plane. your work is appreciated, but flight dynamics is not something you're going to know unless you fly yourself.
