Hey guys, Just tried the plane for the first time... For a freeware, this is an amazing build. I'm not going to say I'm holding this up to payware modules, but this is excellent! I will certainly have fun flying this That being said, couple quick questions from the 30 min flight I had... 1 - HUD: The reticle is really large. Is that normal? I saw that on the yt reviews as well, so I assume it is, but is that designed like how it's supposed to be? 2 - Radar modes: I see SEARCH, A/G and TC. Is there a guide to explain how these work? I saw the yt video, but it doesn't explain what the modes do or how I use them. Is there a guide for it so I can better understand? 3 - Countermeasures: I watched a video where they said the plane doesn't have countermeasures, but I see a box for it on the cockpit. Does this work? I see auto mode as well. How do I use it? 4 - Bombing: I assume like the F5, there is an angle/speed guide to drop bombs? Is there a guide for this plane I can read? I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes, but these were few quick ones I had... Looking forward to more flying with it! I wish DCS would help these guys out more in developing this plane so we can get proper cat launches, a2a refuel etc.

Hey guys, When I have the Aim 9X loaded as soon as I go to A/A Mode, there is a beeping sound even when I get out of A/A mode, or change missiles etc... only way I can figure out to stop is to shoot the missiles lol. How do I turn that sound off? or at least only beep while aim9x is selected... it's kinda like the "growl" except, this is always on... any help?

Hey guys, I believe when the gear is down ATC will change sped to keep a constant AoA. I tried this and it doesn't seem to work for me... am I doing something wrong? Not implemented? I remember on the VRS F18-E this was modeled. I'm not sure if it's specific to the super hornet, or available for all F18s... I would think, gear down, trim for on speed ATC on and that's it?

This is for external view. lol Not sure where to post this or ask... All the planes I fly, my pilot always to the right. His head is stuck in that position pretty much. I do use Track IR... any idea why this is? I don't mind it, but it's annoying LOL

Hey guys, I've been flying the mission where there is a damaged sub, and I have to destroy the russian destroyer before it gets the sub. couple problems I'm having with it. I'm having bit of a tough time detecting it, but got slightly better at it by really turning up the gain. Pretty much up all the way helps. tips on this? When does a destroyer show up on radar? 120km is too far out? 60, 30? I keep getting detected. I'm flying at like 10 meters and I'm still getting picked up. I thought about this and don't understand how one can stay hidden from their radar. I mean it picks up ships at sea that are at sea level lol. What's it going to matter if I'm at 10m? I usually get detected just before I can launch the RB04 thanks!

So far it's my favorite plane to fly. I've been flying DCS on and off for about 8 years now and Viggen brought me back in (along with F18). I honestly prefer flying the Viggen vs the F18. Actually... more on that honesty, I love flying the Viggen, Harrier and the F18. I love many of the newer modulues lol.

Introducing rotary axis for this will make things easier to grasp. I do wonder what the actual radar in the Viggen (our version) looked like. I'm very curious.

Thing is, do you think that's how the actual pilots did it? there is a rotary knob on the middle with a center detent (same as gain) you use this to bring it up and down. you don't keep switching to A/A mode to see where your elevation is lol. Even though I agree where you're coming from, that's like saying the gear lights are modeled, so just hit f2 and see if your landing gears are down. not really a solution. Model it the way it's meant to be! lol

I'm surprised this doesn't get much attention... Not even a reply on the ones I resurfaced. How is everyone else doing it? i don't even know where I'm aiming the radar... just a random guess which isn't good enough.

I agree. Real plane has it... it's very hard and there is no reference point. The gain marker has it, and is a tremendous help. This has been brought up before as well on other threads... please please please!
