  1. IR?? I see no IR pic here... look at other real photos of fast moving aircraft and see how far behind the planes you need to see to actually see the heat blur.
  2. That's smoke... check out the airliners.net discussion pics on the first page.
  3. At the speed he's traveling with the pic being so close up, the heat blur would be hard to see since we can't see much after the nozzles. I think we'd need to see more to the rear of the plane to make a heat blur call, I don't buy it.
  4. It seems to me that given the (assumed) speed and ground effect, the stabilator position is not unusual. Then again we know the pilot is constanly adjusting slightly, so the cam could have just caught it at that angle.
  5. Great thanks EvilBivol-1, I was just about to do that. Well, point proven now. As far as the tomcat video, the gear are up for the entire run except for the first instant the f-14 part starts.
  6. - the aircraft is below ground effect ----- point being??? - the aircraft has no AOA ----- that's dependent on speed, so it's possible - the aircraft is in a bank -----no it's not :) - the aircraft is not even lined up on the runway,-----again point being? I presume they have different safety standards then we do. - the engine exhausts are at the maximum military power setting,----- this supports the reason for a low AoA (denoting a possible high speed). - April Fool's was yesterday.-----This pic was taken on March 19 2006 in China. This is a completely real photo guys, NO photoshop involved. On the same note, check out this tomcat airshow video. Talk about low, he has to be atleast as low as this su-30. There's also a small F-22 gift in the beginning:) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6547793592971674062&q=tomcat&pl=true
  7. It's real... Go check out the forums on airliners.net.
  8. I don't care what you do, all your movies turn out great. I do know that I volunteer my online services to fly in one of your movies if needed. I'm available to perform every evening after 6pm Eastern standard time (GMT+5)
  9. I'm curious how much more thrust the hog will make with it's engine upgrades. I know the hogs TF34's make about 9k lbs of thrust each, but with the CF34 parts upgrades who knows. The stated range of thrusts for the CF's are from 9k-20k lbs. Some of the CRJ model aircraft make in the 19k range. We all know one thing, the hog really needs more POWER.
  10. Poor, poor eagle... You guys are stating the case immaculately. I just can't seem stop flying it though and hoping for the day that it just works right. Aside from that, I have nothing constructive to add.
  11. After seeing the replies here and more seat of the pants testing, I'm definitely getting smoother gaming and a higher fps using this app. You're correct, I'm getting lower frames and a noticeably choppier experience using only the force options in the Nvidia control panel. Guess I missed the part about those not working for d3d games. Anyways, great post, and it works for me :)
  12. Well I actually live in Atlanta right now, doing some work over here at Lockheed, so I guess making some time is out of the question :). There were surely some guy who's aircraft I wouldn't want to fly in, and have no bussiness working on anything.
  13. Soooo true my, friend soo true... I used to be an avionics tech on MC-130's and also f-16C's in the USAF. I swear some of those pilots have not a clue what a 3rd of the buttons and switches in the cockpits do. They know procedure and that's it... switch this, press them, flick that, and this happens. Now the pilots that went through enlisted life as mechanics, then officer training school to become pilots are another story, these are the really sharp ones. Of course this is not a blanket statement; some of them are very knowledgeable. Hey hitman_214th, I used to live at Perterson AFB in the Springs, and work at Cheyenne Mountain AFB... anyways cool to see someone from there.
  14. ...great, now he tells me:rolleyes: So did you notive any improvements when you first did that?
  15. I went ahead and tried it out. It seems to me that I do get about a 10 or so frames better average while using this. I need to do more testing on different games. I suspect what system you have and graphics card could make a difference. Athlon XP 3100 1gb ram Geforce 6800GT 256mb ram X-45
  16. Well I guess it's off to the dreaded UBI for some flying. Haven't been there in years for lockon
  17. Great movie man, the music sells it nicely!! Gotta love the Vietnam era rock :o
  18. ugg.... That stinks, I guess we'l have to live with it for a while (maybe forever) :icon_frow
  19. Yes, this is the exact problem.... soo soo annoying its disgusting. I've tried all kinda of drivers and settings. fooled with every setting I could think in game and out of game. I even had to reinstall windows a few days ago, and still have the prob. And for one last note, I went from a fx5600 to 6800gt and there's not change, still have the shadow of doom. Somebody has to help us out. pleeeeaseee.... I did notice a difference from mine to yours though MIG-MAG, once my shadow comes it stays for good until i restart the mission.
  20. I've also got a 6800gt, but also had this prob with an old fx5600 before i upgraded. Seems that the shadow has followed me to the new GT. As long as I don't face the carrier in external or enternal views I don't get the shadow, But the instant it's within my field of view, bam!! there it is. There's not performance hit, it's just annoying.
  21. It's defintly a bug, for me it even happens if I look towards the carrier when it's in the vicinity. I have no fix though, sorry I also need help.
  22. F-22's!! I've whitnessed 2 f-22's zoom climb from takeoff to a non-visible altitude. I've got home video of it, just need a way to up load it. They climbed so effortlessly it was rediculous.
  23. LOL, I've noticed that too. Most of the pilots used to suck in the begining. Pretty crappy Fm's but very fun.
