  1. She did a great job, better then a lot of the guys i've seen. There are many woman pilots that take more g's then that regularly. The military fighter pilots and definitely the aerobatic fliers (Patty Wagstaff). They pull upwards of 9 g's regularly and spikes even up to 10 at times.
  2. I have no clue... very very interesting though.
  3. Gotta, be the F-15 IMHO, very close to the F-18E... all the others are just way too unproven or not worth it.
  4. ...Just not going to happen... end of discussion
  5. I'm pretty sure that was a Lynx, though I'm not 100%... so I guess my reply is crap :music_whistling: lol. On another note, the the way the contry Liberia is portayed is completely false. I myself am from Liberia and can say first hand that there are huge Diamond mines there. It's an interesting movie, but I think the acutal idea of what happened and still is happening there parallels Liberia. Both Sierra Leone and Liberia are in the same struggle... off my soap box
  6. I tried playing FEAR and hated it, this is nothing like it... see my system settings below. This thing runs great for me even on high settings!!! Definitely an addicting game, I love it.
  7. Taking all the other top speed/ cruise speed comments into account also... I think it comes down to, we do not know how fast the F-22 is capable of going. I believe it would be naive to think it cannot go faster than mach 2. Here's how a member of f-16.net explains it: Just because the inlet on the F-22 doesn't use 40 year old technology of hydraulically powered ramps like an F-15 doesn't mean it isn't as good or better. Modern inlet systems do not have to physically change geometry to provide optimum pressure recovery for the engine. Traditional supersonic inlets have moving ramps, cones or other devices to capture the normal shock in the inlet throat and alter capture area. The F-22 inlet system does the same thing without traditional moving parts. No moving parts makes RAM treatments inside the inlets more durable and reduces RCS. Like old technology inlets, each F-22 inlet is spaced away from the forward fuselage to form a boundary layer diverter. This prevents low energy turbulent air from entering. The F-35 uses the fuselage "hump" in front of the inlet to accomplish the same purpose. The upper inboard corner of the F-22 inlet lip creates a series of oblique shocks. Air is slowed by passing through those shocks and is compressed in an external 3D compression ramp before entering the inlet throat. In the inlet throat, a sophisticated porous plate bleed system traps a normal shock and airflow becomes subsonic. The bleed system dumps overboard through the parallelogram-shaped door on top of the fuselage about 3 feet behind the upper inlet lip. Pressure increases as subsonic airflow passes through a gradually diverging duct with a 6:1 length-to-engine face diameter ratio. The 6:1 ratio assures uniform airflow quality at the engine face. Any excess airflow is dumped overboard through a hexagonal grid on top of the fuselage near the wing root. The bleed and dump functions are controlled by the integrated flight and propulsion control software in a CIP. This technology was demonstrated in the YF-22s and is repeated in the F-22A.
  8. Nothing super amazing, but the atmospheric effects are awesome... Can't wait for them to start flying more complex aerobatics.
  9. Just a video I ran across, It's nothing special but i hope you enjoy!! http://www.f22-raptor.com/media/video_gallery/videos/F22_NortherEdge-420x240.wmv
  10. That 1875 mph number is listed all over as the F-15's "top" speed so, + or - 100mph would be ok to asume in my book. One strange part is that top speed as advertised, came about with the older F-15 engines that have much less thrust then the -229's and is as follows.. --Two Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-100 turbofan engines with afterburners, each rated at 25,000 pounds engine ( 11,250 kilograms) ... I've also seen 23,000 lbs listed. Sadly what it comes down to is that we don't really know for sure, but the F-22 has to be faster then the F-15
  11. F-15 --Two pratt & whitney F100-PW-229 low-bypass turbofan engines each developing approximately 29,000 pounds of thrust. (asuming the aircraft has 299 engines) --Empty weight approximately 31,700 lbs --Top speed mach 2.5 (1,875 mph) F-22 --Two Pratt & Whitney F119-100 low-bypass turbofan engines each developing approximately 35,000 pounds of thrust. --Empty weight approximately 31,670 lbs --Top speed mach 1.8+ ....hmm, just doesn't add up I know there are some math wiz types on this board, somebody do some rough calculations on the Raptor's top speed. My guess would be around mach 2.6-2.7... of course after all this, top speed is not as important as we make it. :)
  12. It would be great if ED released what they have as far as the f-18 goes and aleast let us have the proper functionality of the ingame model. I like the MOD but just can't get past all the flaws created by using the su-33. I know they didn't have enough info on the weapons systems and all but I could look past that.
  13. I guarantee the F-22 has a higher top speed then mach 1.8+ reguardless of what is publicised. It would be naive to believe that lie...
  14. here's mine.... hmm how do I get the image to show full size?
  15. ...ummm... Any new news on the F-14 model, or updates? :-)
  16. It always seemed strange, looks like th Mig-29 has got a below average roll rate in real life compared to other fighters. I never thought it looked like it had crisp handling at all, at least in the roll evelope. I think it's roll rate is spot on as far as that in the game.
  17. Excellent job guys, I enjoyed that one. Nice music also, very suitable.
  18. A little of topic but i figured I could get a quick answer here. I know the F-22 does not have 3d thrust vectoring, but can the engine nozzels move in pitch independantly... say one pointing up, and one pointing down to help in the roll axis? It really doesn't look like it to me in the videos I've seen. I feel like I see the stabilators flailing at low speeds inefectively trying to keep the aircraft level like the engines aren't helping any.
  19. There have been countless debates over this one on other forums over this past year. It's been proven to not be a fake. There are a few more shots of this and also a video floating around somewhere. It's just a very low pass at an airshow in China if I remember correctly.
  20. I've also had this bug forever, no matter what driver version I use. Do we know for sure if this is a ED issue or driver issue?
  21. Yes, of course it's lower up at high altitude. It still just doesn't seem correct, or even close to correct. Anyone know about what the fuel flow of an f-15 at 40K, in AB should be?
  22. The fuel consumption for the F-15 is just screwed the way all around. In mulitiplayer I can load up with 3 tanks and max internal fuel. I then takeoff and head in the opposite direction of the "fight" and climb to about 40,000ft. I turn around and fly back to the fight at around that alt and slowly climb as I use up fuel, all of this is done in full AB. Basically I can tool around at around 45 or so thousand feet and just stay there forever on full AB plucking the bogies 1 by 1.... as long as I don't get shot down too soon.:joystick:
  23. I find that using a fabric softener sheet to wipe the plastic plate under the spring quiets the stick and smooths it nicely. Seems that the fabric softener has a wax on it that does well.
