  1. Also downloaded to iPad, great rescource for when in the pit, I have learnt so much already. Thank you very much.
  2. The new Mac Pro Does anybody know how this rig would handle DCS http://www.apple.com/uk/mac-pro/ I was looking at the minimum spec 3.7Ghz quad core 12gb DDR3 Dual AMD Fire pro 2gb I love DCS, (the only game I play) but also love photo/video/music editing. My current rig (see spoiler) in DCS can give me 20-30 fps on medium settings in single player @ 2560X1440, but can get hot very quickly, so extra external cooling has to be added (desk fan lol). I would love to sometime in the future try out multiplayer with the hope of having a machine that would stay with me and not fold under the first battle scene. Some might say, why not get a dedicated rig for half the price, well, I love the Mac for everything else as well as DCS, and Bootcamp has run Windows faultlessly for me for many years. So, just wondering if it would be worth taking the plunge, as I am not a computer performance expert. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  3. I have found plenty of photo's from the early eighties when I used to visit airshows. Here is a couple to start with. Can anyone confirm that the first one is a B-25 Mitchell or am I completely wrong.
  4. This is a good tutorial for using the ME (Mission Editor) with more to come shortly, and should get you on your way. It takes a long time to learn DCS, it goes off in so many directions. I've been into DCS for 5 or 6 years now, and I do a LOT of reading (mainly on helli's) From what I have read from your posts, you are doing alright, compared to me when I first started. It will come eventually with determination.
  5. This has just been put up by Froogle, it has made me aware of a few more hidden set ups that can be accomplished with this brilliant piece of software, hope you get something out of it.
  6. Go to your saved games under Users/Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/su 27/trackir. If there is an . diff. lua file in there, delete it and restart the game. just a thought, this should not do any harm. let us know your success.
  7. you could try changing your default cockpit view and saving it, simple instructions below. Disable/Pause your Track-IR/Head-tracker while doing it ! "Num/ - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Back "Num5" Cockpit Camera Move Center "Num2 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Down "Num* - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Forward "Num8 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Up "Num8" Turn Cockpit Camera Up "Num2" Turn Cockpit Camera Down "Num/" FOV- aka Zoom-in "Num*" FOV+ aka Zoom-out "NumEnter" Default FOV aka Zoom Once you are satisfied , after using above key-commands, just use following key-command to save this view as default: "RAlt+Num0" Save current Cockpit view as default for this vehicle. This applies to all modules. Also check your Track IR zoom axis, the attached image is my setup at present.
  8. Here is a good place to start with installing most mods. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607&highlight=JSGME Has very good instructions on how to use. I am 55 and had no problems using it. Don't be afraid to ask here no matter how simple you may think the question is, we all had to start somewhere. If you click on your username top right of main forum page, then click on all statistics, you will be presented with a list of options on the left to view your posts and threads.
  9. I have recently bought Voice Attack, recommended by an ED forum member. I haven't had much time to use it properly yet, only managing to put in a few commands and they work spot on first time. I plan to set up all radio comms with this software for all my modules. Thoroughly recommend.
  10. Don't forget to download the latest drivers from Natural Point website before doing any set ups. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06-support/support-download-software-and-manuals.html
  11. There is a For Sale section in this forum, I put up for sale recently a FFB joystick, and it had sold with in 2 hours.
  12. Try this by PeterP http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92483 And then look at this tweak by myself, some file paths in original have changed. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2049680&postcount=4
  13. As in RL the A-10C can be rearmed without shutting down for a quick turn around, as the engines are high up, so I read recently.
  14. MFG Crosswinds, a bit pricey, but very strongly built, many adjustments can be made easily. After sales support is top notch. I plan to upgrade my HOTAS (TM-HOTAS X) to a TM Warthog to match the quality of the MFG's very soon. http://mfg.simundza.com/mfgcrosswind.php
  15. VHF 2 freq 124.000, just to confirm.
  16. Thanks MadDridder, great find, will deffinetly be using this one.
  17. I don't at the moment fly the A-10 that much, but when I did I suffered the same and found this mod helped slightly, it doesn't change the colour, but you have three options to choose from regarding text size. Hope this helps. A-10C Bigger HUD Font.rar
  18. I bought Blackshark 1 CD version way back in 2011, I installed it and eagerly waiting to fly my first serious sim only to be bitterly disappointed that I could not control the helicopter, I don't even think I got off the ground. Didn't bother looking for instructions/manual, so in the draw the CD went. A year or so later I came across it again and thought I would look up the makers of the game, Eagle Dynamics to see if I could find some more info on the game, that's when I saw the letters DCSW, long story short, downloaded DCSW,read tons of stuff on this forum, found the manual and even bought a hard copy (Lulu.com) very nice, upgraded to BS2 and off I went. With the manual not that far away from me and the forum at my finger tips I have never had to ask how to fly th Ka-50 yet. Read, practice, read, practice, practice, practice, I have to at my age it takes longer to store. P.S. I would love to join Reaper6 in one of his training sessions one day when I think I am confident enough.
  19. Hi, welcome to DCS, take a look at these tutorials of the SU-25T, a very knowledgeable guy. Also I own about 75% of the DCS modules, but find it very difficult to pull myself away from the KA-50 Blackshark. When you get to know how to control her, it's very satisfying, more so than a fixed wing IMO. Have fun.
  20. Same here, got rid. I put all my module manuals and all other relevant info for DCS into Kindle app, as long as it's .pdf, no problems.. Just read the news on the website.
  21. Turn intercom switch on and tune to 124.000. 127.500 is an old setting from way back.
  22. The username of your PC C\users\*your username*\saved games\DCS\Config\Views
  23. Thanks Chic. Just searched VoiceAttack and looks good, sounds like it maybe way over my head, macro's and all that, never used them before but always willing to learn, seeing that I have a Cyborg 7 keyboard as well, so no excuses. Just bought new headphones with a microphone and downloaded Team Speak, but that is a far as I have got with it. Just a quick tip for the future regarding your OP, I was told by a fellow member hear that DCS creates a backup file which includes subfolders such as MODS & Scripts. After the update, You simply open up the DCS world root directory and copy and replace all the backup files and allow overwrite saving a lot of time re-entering all that info. IIRC the folder is _backup.000/_backup.001 and so on, I had about 15 of these files not knowing what they were for, now I know I keep all but the lastest one.
  24. Hi, I found the above by PeterP to be very useful, but found some of the file paths to be out dated. The link below is my slightly modified version, hope this is useful for you. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2049680&postcount=4 Edit. Many apologies, looks like it has been updated.
