  1. Blackshark I have recently bought these Razor Blackshark headphones, I also wear glasses, additionally I Sometimes watch tutorial videos via an iPad using in ear plugs whilst in game on DCS and having this headset on over the top, even after 2-3 hours of wearing they are still very comfortable. As you can see TIR is attached as well. I can't give any feedback about the use of the microphone as I have'nt used it yet, but is adjustable and can be removed.
  2. Try to change the key bindings for "centre" "pause" & "pressission" to something DCS does'nt use. I use ~, caps lock, & mouse button 3 at the moment.
  3. Yes, they are downloadable via the Apple App Store. You can download back versions as well. I have been lucky since owning a Mac that all my upgraded versions, (two) have been free to download, but I am sure the next one I will have to pay for, but then the highest cost for a new version I have seen was only £21.99.
  4. Hi triantobebrian I have not had experiences running DCS on a laptop, but I do run it on an iMac (spec below) and have done for over 4 years now. Granted it is not the most powerful of machines and could do with a bit more graphical power, and I haven't ventured into multiplayer, don't consider myself that good and I'm sure the mac would fold. I am actually looking at the desktop Mac Pro, very powerful and very expensive, can't afford it just yet. All Apple machines come with Bootcamp to run Windows, I have run Windows this way for 4 years and I can quite honestly say that Bootcamp runs Windows better than anything Microsoft that I have owned, never had any blue screens or crashes. I use Bootcamp for gaming on an SSD and OS X for everything else, and all runs smoothly.
  5. Thanks FAKUM, I will do that at next update. I wondered why all those back up files were building up in the DCS directory, I assume it is ok to delete all but the latest back up?
  6. Hi, I don't own this module, but with most others you have to bind your PTT button to" R-alt \" Then you will probably have more success.
  7. hi, have attached an image of my Z axis in TIR 5 which I copied from Gerry Abbotts tutorial on YouTube. Hope this works for you.
  8. While you are waiting for the real thing, you may want to look at this, if you haven't already that is. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=137574
  9. ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\F-86F Sabre\ If there is no "F-86F Sabre" folder at this destination, add it yourself. When I installed this module, this folder was absent. Download skins from the user files section and place here, then you will see them.
  10. This is a link to my ebay sale for the titled product if anyone is interested. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171635664547?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 I am UK based but willing to despatch anywhere as the buyer pays the extra postage, free in the UK. It has been sitting covered in my attic for many years, when it was used, in the late nineties, it only had light use. Thanks for looking. Edit: Sorry everyone, sold within 2 hours.
  11. Hi Belgeode, glad I was of some assistance, Just one extra note, if you didn't already know, every time ED does an update you have to re-enter that info again. For me I have a before and after folders with the relevant lua files in. Also EDGE is due for release soon, that may also change things. As for your next question regarding coloured caption text, I had a go with that myself today and the same thing happened to me. I am still learning this game and I have very limited knowledge in scripts and lua's and limited time so my apologies for not being helpful here. If I find any solutions I will post back here.
  12. Hi, sorry to hear you are having problems with this. I notice you say you are using Notepad, not "Notepad ++" the latter is much more reliable, and it is free to download, just do a google search. I have just upgraded to the latest patch and it works OK for me, please let me know your success.
  13. Or LIGHT reflections
  14. Also from hear, this is where I bought my headset from 2 years ago. http://www.flightstore.co.uk
  15. Hi, I am no expert, but I would open that file up in Notepad ++, select all content then Save As (giving it a memorable name) and choosing .lua file format. Hope that works for you, if not I'm sure there will be an expert along soon.
  16. Thanks Random, I have only just purchased the Huey in the last sale, took my first flight in it today with my trusty T Flight Hotas X and it's twist stick rudder, a bit wild to say the least, I'm not going to fly it anymore until the new pedals arrive. Seemed to have tamed the Shark and the trimming, don't crash anymore, just get shot down, again with the new MFG's I'm sure that will improve also.
  17. I ordered a set of these in early August with the promise of an early October delivery, I don't mind waiting for quality and not long to go now. Milan (who makes them) was very helpful with all my questions and responded very quickly to emails. I have never owned a set of pedals before and I am really looking forward to using them with the Blackshark and Huey. My long term intension is to mount these on a board, extending the board up to my chair were I will eventually place the joystick (T M Warthog, not purchased yet, early 2015) so that it is between my legs, and then mounting the throttle somehow to the chair on the left of my arm rest, just hope all cables are long enough. I don't think my co-pilot will go for the full on simpit

  19. I spoke with him 1 week ago when I ordered my set, no deliveries until October though.
  20. Hi, sorry if this has been posted before, but I can't find anything related. I thought I would start to learn how to fly the A10C after being in the shark for so long, anyway I went into the controls options to set up my communications menu bindings on the keyboard to find that over half of all the commands in the keyboard column are blank, every other aircraft in the layers drop down has a full keyboard listing, so I am a bit confused as to what to do. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
  21. There is a readme file in the download for install instructions.
  22. It's the 109 for me, the only one I knew when I was a kid.
  23. Recently updated Mist (not by me) you might want to try. Mistv3_4.lua
  24. So, I am thinking of using these graphics.lua settings that JAYPEE has posted And according to this readme.txt in the 1.2.7 config file Am I right in thinking, that I have to prefix every line with an = sign to it with options.graphics. ? then place it in specified folder and all will be fine. Then if this file was ever deleted all would return to original. Sorry if this might seem simple to most people, but I am still new to this and learning so much, I don't want to mess anything up. Thanks in advance.
  25. Thank you very much. Although this thread was old and all the scripts in it are totally different in 1.2.7, it gave me a starting point where to look. Together with another member that I noticed had succeeded with this (Fakum) I have come up with this set up so far and I am very happy with it. I must note that this is the first time I have ever gone into changing scripts, so I apologise if this does not work for you, Just remember to BACKUP first. Ok, the only file I had to locate was: DCS World\Scripts\UI\RadioCommandDialogPanel folder Open the CommandMenu.lua in Notepad ++ Changes are in RED Line 44 menuWidth = 500 Line 80 local font /fonts/DejaVuLGCSansCondensed-Bold.ttf Line 84 text.fontsize =22 Line 100 text.fontsize =28 line 101 text.color = yellow Dont forget to SAVE Regarding line 80 and the fonts, a list of fonts to be used can be found here: DCS World\dxgui\skins\fonts I have only tested this in the Blackshark as that is all I am flying at present. With the success of the above I thought I would try something else out related to the Radio Commands and the F keys. I was finding it quite awkward spanning my hand across the keyboard with the RALT-\ then having to go to the F keys. With a bit of searching I found GREB's post http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.phpt=66715&highlight=ATC+reply+text Changing Radio Command Keys Again this is an old post, so the file structure is different in 1.2.7. I located the folder needed eventually DCS World\Config\Input\CommandMenu\Keyboard Open the default.lua in Notepadd++ (obviously backup first) change's are in RED function layout() return { keyCommands = { {combos = {{key = 'Num1'}}, name = 'Command menu item 1', down = ICommandMenuItem1}, {combos = {{key = 'Num2'}}, name = 'Command menu item 2', down = ICommandMenuItem2}, {combos = {{key = 'Num3'}}, name = 'Command menu item 3', down = ICommandMenuItem3}, {combos = {{key = 'Num4'}}, name = 'Command menu item 4', down = ICommandMenuItem4}, {combos = {{key = 'Num5'}}, name = 'Command menu item 5', down = ICommandMenuItem5}, {combos = {{key = 'Num6'}}, name = 'Command menu item 6', down = ICommandMenuItem6}, {combos = {{key = 'Num7'}}, name = 'Command menu item 7', down = ICommandMenuItem7}, {combos = {{key = 'Num8'}}, name = 'Command menu item 8', down = ICommandMenuItem8}, {combos = {{key = 'Num9'}}, name = 'Command menu item 9', down = ICommandMenuItem9}, {combos = {{key = 'Num0'}}, name = 'Command menu item 10', down = ICommandMenuItem10}, {combos = {{key = 'F11'}}, name = 'Command menu item 11', down = ICommandMenuItem11}, {combos = {{key = 'F12'}}, name = 'Command menu item 12', down = ICommandMenuItem12}, {combos = {{key = 'Tab', reformers = {'LShift'}}}, name = 'Command switch dialog', down = ICommandSwitchDialog}, }, } end The only other task to complete is binding the Radio Command key in DCS options\controls, I bound the RALT-\ keyboard command to the right arrow key ⇨ left of the numpad (if you use a joystick you wont need right pitch) , now all I have to do is use my thumb on the new radio command binding ⇨ and my fingers on the 1-0 numbers for the F keys just using one hand, sooooooo much easier. As I said before this has only been tested in the Blackshark as for other aircraft, I am unsure. I hope this is helpful to some, appologies if there are any mistakes as I said this is my first experience at scripts and posting. Thanks again cichlidfan. I can confirm that this set up does not work in the A-10C, you have to use your MIC Switch bindings.
