  2. why not here? I hope you find a way to post some of your screen shots here. I, for one, would appreciate it very much. Many happy wishes for you and your intended. :) Flyby out
  3. me too!!! Man am I glad i decided to visit SimHq once more today. Thpigh I had a different agenda for checking out the website, I wasglad I came across the Black Shark article. I see I was a bit late in getting here to tell everyone about it. Very cool article, eh? ;) I hope my new system will put me ahead of the BS curve (whenever I get around to buying and building it). :) Flyby out btw, I was floored by the video. No fancy flying. Just hovering about. But it was FANTASTIC! I wonder what polygon count is being used in the model? Also, did you see the system specs? Impressive results.
  4. Hmmm... Which USAF aircraft is my favorite...? Well, if we're talking BVR, I have to go with the F-15. For WVR I prefer the F16. But that's just this era. If we talk the VietNam airwar era, I like the F8F Crusader. It had guns, and some agility. Plus, I remember the very cool sound they made when they flew past, turning into the pattern (I was on Okinanwa for 22 months, saw the SR-71 while it was still just rumored to be on the island). For WW2 I like the P51B & C with the Malcom hood. Both were faster than the D, and a little lighter. I think both the Su-27 and the MiG-29 are very formidable in the close-in fight. I recall seeing a program where F-18s were practicing againt German MiG-29s and Fulcrums generally owned them close in. Such a huge thrust-to-weight advantage over the Hornet. Plus the Russian planes have had the off-bore targeting helmut for some time now while the US is just adapting it for use with some of it's planes. I can't decide which plane is more beautiful when I think of the Flanker and the Eagle. Both just look so "right". The F-16 looks absolutely timeless. :) Flyby out
  5. Hi Alex, I'm sort of a poser at the moment. I'm using the wife's pc to keep track of my simulation interests. My old system fried and I'm looking to build a new one. Sad to say but the real world keeps intruding on my time table. You know how it is when unexpected expenses occur. even my squadron mates wonder if I'll return before too long :( As for online flying, when I get back to it, I'm a Hyperlobby and Teamspeak fan. I too have Flaming Cliffs, and really look forward to Black Shark. My squadron flies IL2 and I made coop missions for them before my system failed me. But where there's a will there's a way. Don't be too sure that you'll learn anything from me. I'm not what you'd call a competent pilot. But I sure love a desperate situation! :D Flyby out
  6. Thanks Alex, I saw similar info. I guess we'll have to wait and see what developes. I did see where your country has some interesting new fighters; the F10, I think. It's looks are very modern, but I know little about it. Seen a video or two though. Flyby
  7. Sleep. Sleep. your eyes are getting heavy... meanwhile I hope to see you in the virtual skies one day! ;) Flyby out
  8. Alex!!!!!!!!!!! You're not asleep yet??!! Flyby:)
  9. no problem sir Alex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah, get some sleep man. If you work any harder you'll wind up being Premier. or worse yet, filthy rich!! I'm already working on my 7th millions $$$ (because the first six millions never happened). Just so long as you can find some PLA gunship links before Black Shark gets published, I'm good.:music_whistling: Flyby out
  10. Hey Biggy! I hope there are more war films made where there are other perspectives. I'm sure there must be many out there already. I wonder what some of the best war films made around the world are?. Maybe some here will be kind enough to lennd their opinions? Flyby out
  11. S~ Nordic! That's what I was talking about! Have at it Alex! :D As for me, I already have TIR-3 with Vector expansion, so I'm good to go. Flyby out
  12. Hi Alex, I can't help you directly, but I've read online that there is a way to use an internet camera for head tracking. I've tried to search it out, but so far no joy. Maybe someone here can help? Flyby
  13. nice subject thread I hope I get to see this movie in the U.S. From the trailers it looks to be a good one. I don't necessarily have to by into it's historical claim though. That's not primarily why I'd watch it. A good war/action film is all I'm after. If it's loosely based on history, all the better. I knew that U571 was far from the truth before I watched it once. I never had to watch that one again. But I've seen "The Beast" several times. I guess the difference is that I found the latter to be better movie-making. KosiMazaki, I did see that movie about the Korean brothers. Not bad, imo, and odd to see a Korean movie about that war. I liked "Porkchop Hill" too, but that movie was made at a different time. Would you believe that I just finally saw "Letters from Iwo Jima"? Another good movie, imho. I hope Clint Eastwood did not over-Americanize it, but it seemed a very good effort. I hope more war movies can make there way here from around the world. Always good to get more exposure.;) Flyby out
  14. come in and visit for a spell Belgium and Sweden (by way of Serbia) are most welcome to join this little thread. There is room for all. I hope we can all meet up one day in multiplay!:pilotfly: Flyby out
  15. we just keep rolling along... Alex, Thanks for offering to find that info. But don't go to a lot of trouble. It seems as if you're busy enough with real life. Get to it when you can, if you can. If not, well... I won't die from it. :D (but I'm sure it will make for very interesting reading) muamshai, welcome! I'm originally from the planet Mongo, on the ragged side of the Gonad Nebula. Ever swung through there? I had my fake i.d on me on the international space station when they discovered a "stow-away". I told them I fell asleep while editing the emergency escape procedures, "and next thing I knew I was weightless!":smartass: Just goes to show; it's always something!!:P Flyby out ps in the future, all extraterrestials please only list your current Earth home. ;)
  16. Ah, more fleshing out of the sim. Flyby rides again! :D Flyby out ps dont take me seriously. ;)
  17. Hey Alex, I planned to do some searches myself, but got side-tracked. I'll see what I can find. I think this thread is going rather well. Everyone tell your friends! :D Flyby out
  18. Wags, Wags, When/if you get to releasing a small video about the ME, perhaps you could include a FAC line, and demonstration of how it works? If it's not doable, that's fine. But you know me by now. If I don't ask... ;) Flyby out
  19. this can be done? I wonder if this can be done as Poko says? If so then working terrain masking will add greatly to the immersion factor! Will limitations, I'm sure. Flyby out btw how would that work with a FAC?
  20. I was wondering if Black Shark will have any sort of interactive forward air controller. Well, maybe not even interactive, but in the ME can a FAC be set to call in the gunships to, say, sanitize an area? Maybe spot ground targets? I need to learn more about how and when to employ the Black Shark. Don't I? Flyby out
  21. S~ Alex, Good of you to drop by. What sort of gunships does China have? Flyby out
  22. nice John McLaughlin would be proud!;) Flyby out
  23. Happy B-day, Cool_T. Hope you're having a great day and living a full life (as a taxpayer!):P Flyby
