  1. Thanks Wags! Great news! But I'm kind of sad in a way because it seems that I'll be setting aside some of my favorite sims so I can immerse myself in the Black Shark world. :( But hey! That's life! :D Flyby out
  2. we know waht you mean He means PORN! Hard, brutalizing, eyesocket-screwing PORN!:megalol: But hey, that's just Leafer being Leafer!:D Flyby out
  3. a new video, please...? How about a short counterinsurgency video where a flight of Black Sharks put the big hammer on Leafer's hideout. Oh he's not home at the time because he's cashing that check I sent him. But his pc takes a direct hit, and he can't make posts here anymore!:megalol: (just kidding, buddy) Flyby out
  4. it's a hard-kock life for us... My thanks to EvilBivol for providing us an update of sorts. At least we know BS is not vaporware (unlike my suspicions about some other new sims). We know what DCS is doing with the sim while we wait for a bit more info, and I'm cool with that. Meanwhile, there's Leafer to keep us honest, and occasionally provide a bit of levity to these forums. Oh we happy few...:D Flyby out (Leafer! I can't believe you cashed that check without adding a few more zeros behind that 9!)
  5. Cougar quality still a question, imho. I can't say for certain, DD. I hope most of them are resolved. But if you check a bit deeper I'm sure you'll find someone on Cougarworld who received his unit with bone dry joystick gimbals (a source of premature wear and wobble). A Cougar is Hell when it's well, but it may get sick. Cougar fans will mod them, as Coffee999 did. His mods result in the reliability the Cougar was meant to have, not what the accountants figured would make a nice profit. I suggest you go to the Cougar forums and ask about recent build quality.;) Flyby out
  6. hey coffee999 Be sure to also post your setup here http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=29 Might get a few hits.;)
  7. you're dead meat now Leafer!! Don't listen to Leafer, Wags! I didn't use waterboarding, didn't twist his arm either. My Vulcan mind-meld failed too (couldn't locate Leafer's mind no matter how hard I tried):megalol: But! Cash money works every time. Leafer, old chum, the check's in the mail!:D (you crack me up!!:P ) Flyby out Ps, didn't think I'd find this, didja?;)
  8. awesome deal!! Man that's a great deal. I wish I'd known of it sooner. I now have two Cougars, and a set of Thrustmaster Elite rudder pedals, plus TIR-3. So I'm set. But to anyone interested, Scott's system is worth every penny and more. You'll never have to worry about the famous Cougar ills with that rig. I think a Cougar is just about perfect for Black Shark, LOMAC, and F4-AF. I even do pretty good with IL2. A Cougar makes you "man-up" because it's really beefy (no offense to the ladies), and it's programming features allow just about anything you can imagine. So someone show Scott some love, and $$. 9. rgrt Leafer, we are cool. Flyby out
  10. who? me? was I saying that? Well I guess you could sum it up that way, but I would not have made that assumption, my friend. I was just pointing out the nature of the site. no offense meant.;) Flyby out
  11. re:HoverControl hi Leafer, you trouble-maker!:D HoverControl's main clients may not necessarily be represented on DCS forums. I know it's presumptuous of me to say so, but I used to download helis from there when I flew FS2004. Some are very neat to fly in the FS world, especially since most of the downloads (also) support TIR-6dof. Hovercraft seems to have it's niche well covered. Better to go there with FS/civilian flying in mind, and leave the combat simming to those who want to. Of course MVSGAS must be a true rotorhead. Seems he can go back and forth between being a civvie rotorhead and being a bringer of fiery death in the combat arena! :) Flyby out
  12. Hi guys, Sorry. No controversy today.:) I just wanted to post a link for the rotorheads among us who also fly FS. It's an interesting site, I think. I hope someone finds it useful http://www.hovercontrol.com/ Flyby out
  13. an interesting link http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/ka50/ Maybe the DCS Black Shark will evolve in nightfighting capabilities? Also perhaps modders will be able to go "international" on the cockpit one day?;) Flyby out
  14. well...lemme see.. I'm actually not simming at all currently. I get my simming fix by bugging the ED crew on this website! Aside from that I'm investigating a new pc build, so I spend time scouring the web for the latest info, and reviews on various components. When I was simming (been almost three years now) I mainly flew IL2 and occassionally LOMAC/FC. Spent a lot of time in IL@ online battles, making COOP missions for my squadron (99th Virtual Squadron/Tuskegee Airmen). Not so much online with LOMAC/FC, but when I did, I flew the Hog primarily. I own the Cougar HOTAS, and Thrustmaster RC Rudder pedals. Otherwise, just a househusband trying to keep the little woman happy.;) Flyby out
  15. moderator please close this thread. no need to speculate on the subject. Flyby
  16. hold on folks! I withdraw the question. I'm sure once BS is released and coops are hosted (on Hyperlobby) I'll find out. Meanwhile, I can search for relevant information on the world wide web.:smilewink: No need to collapse gonads, or even waterboard someone over this subject.;) Flyby out
  17. ok...? Maybe I asked wrong; maybe slots is the wrong term. So... how many players will be supported online in BS? 8? 16? 48? Does that have to do with cpu and bandwidth? If so I guess I need to learn about these things. I've only been concerned with cpu and bandwith in regards to gameplay on my pc (only). Flyby out
  18. that's a better scenario good thinking! maybe that can be applied if one member loses connection too. The scenario would be the same ie wounded/killed unable to respond. Flyby out
  19. rgrt but aside from solving the problems, any guess as to how many slots the multiplayer will support? Maybe if a crewman of a two-seater vanishes from the session that ac might be considered "shot down"? That wouldn't be nice for the remaining crewdog, but it's thought. Flyby
  20. Imagine that... well brush my teeth and call me smiley!:D I thought I might get caught out with that proposition about (non) sead ac. I suppose if I had to choose, I'd have to go with realism too. OK so no hordes of "rare" ac, and no ac performing outside their intended parameters. But at least 48 to 64 multiplayer slots! Imagine the practice it would take for a two-man team to master a simulated two-seater, then to go online and perform as part of a squadron, or even a flight. That's really the core of my original post. Flyby out
  21. definitely not a killjoy So the '34 can't perform SEAD? Nor can the Strike Eagle? No one's buying the Ka-52?! Well, there aren't that many Ka-50s about, but I read there's a huge fuss somewhere in the sim community over that little gem.:book: Much as I respect your opinions, GGT, I'm a bit set back by your lack of imagination. :P Let DCS provide the two-seaters, and then let's see where we wind up. Flyby out
  22. as in... as in "fog of war"?;) what could be better than to see the best laid plans erupt into chaos in the first few minutes of engagement? I think that would add a nice pucker factor to any mission. Flyby out
