In looking at your system I'd say you're basically good to go for Black Shark as it is based on an older rendering engine (just updated to DX9 not long ago). Definitely get the track-ir pro with Vector. You won't be sorry. By the way, welcome to our happy forum! :D Glad to meetcha. ;) As for the monitors I find that to be a highly personal preference. I am looking for a good 22" lcd. As for three monitors, someone will chime in on the setup being used at the latest Lowland Tiger meet where Black Shark was demonstrated. That setup had at least four monitors. As for overclocking your cpu, exactly what is it? Have you ever overclocked before? This site isn't bad for info. http://www.hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2 There many other overclocking forums out there. It's probably best to find one aimed at your specific motherboard. As for joysticks, I own a Cougar HOTAS so I'm not qualified to speak to the subject.:P Good luck, and stay away from American dollars!!!:D

need a good monitor Viper, the gourmet! :D :D (good come-back ;) ) An lcd monitor question for the beta testers, and other NOE flyers. What's good monitor spec to ensure smooth graphics while flying NOE at speed in BS or LOMAC? My video card will be either the 8800GTS/512 or the new 9800GTX/512. I just don't want to make a decision based on reviews of land-lubber shooters, but rather on performance in flight sims . Don't mean to sound too particular, just looking for a capable 22 inch lcd

I think this thread will go far I'm retired but in an earlier life I worked in a label shop, supervising. Labels were made for industrial-type bar code data collection (not jelly jars or meat labels) and they a have been used in many areas from the space shuttle to pcb, and even rfid applications. I think the idea of buffer states seems inherent in the Russian mind due to past invasions, leadership aside. well...no Like I said, just a wild idea. It would be nice to see the Flanker here at air shows, even if the USAF had to buy a couple of them. Good for detente, and all that. With it's long legs it could be a nice patrol aircraft. What's this about communist world political theory? Buying, and selling is pure capitalism, not necessarily democratic, but to make a buck or two isn't so bad. In the long run, it's like the game "monopoly". no don't quote me... I think the idea of an Su-27 being bound by gci is no longer a practice, if it ever was. Maybe for the shorter-ranged Fulcrum, I don't know. But I read somewhere that Russian tactics have evolved. I'd think the FLanker would have bvr capabilites and the pilots trained to operate independently of gci. Now to operate in concert with AWACS, well who wouldn't use that datalink setup? Flyby

I hope the movie makes it to the U.S. I'd like to see it. But I don't really care for a woman seeminly being cast as a significant character holding sway as the good Baron's conscience and love interest. I guess it brings the ladies into the theater, but otherwise a love interest in a movie about the Baron is superfluous, a time filler to stretch the movie's length, imho. There was the Blue Max for that. Is the Red Baron to compete with that film? Flyby out

I too think the 8800GT/512mb card will do nicely. My only caveats being the monitor size and the resolution you want to play at. I think a 22" 4:3 ratio with a max of 1600x rez would be fine for the GT. Higher rez's and wider screens will be more taxing, imho. But it's certainly a fine card, especially for the price. well now let me see... S~ Leafer, I'm no mechanic, and I don't ride bikes, but simple things are often the root of problems. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Is the fuel pump working ok? Air filter clean? Running the right plugs at the right gap? These are things you could check yourself, maybe. You need to get that bike running so you'll feel better!
