Yes, exactly! That's why I got very confused. I had access to the flight upon take off, got them in formation, then lost the radio menu? So my solution (eventually after much head scratching and trial and error) was to select "easy Comms" from options menu. I seem to recall that you can't adjust the freqs in the KA-50, so you need to use easy Comms. Anyway, it works with easy Comms. Thanks for the PTT info, I recall using that in the past. Cheers.

Thanks. I was using the UK skin. The mission I made originally used the Harrier from the Tarawa. I substituted the Harrier (UK skin, UK side) for the Black Shark. No joy with starting from the Tarawa, each selection automatically jumped to the nearest airfield. I'll try a US skin. But I would have thought any "blue" (allied) unit should be able to use a blue asset carrier. My next project is to do a red side mission. So should be able to use a Russian skin, Red side, from the Kutznetzov? Ha! Yes copy the A.I. "intelligence". Funnily enough, I played the mission through several times tonight and the AI did as they were told 75% of the time. The recce and "attack data link target" is a powerful feature. When it works it's very good. The choice of target, targets and targets of same type is a bit confusing, but "targets" seems the best option. Anyway, the new HD cockpit is superb and has revitalised my interest in the Shark. I'd forgot how to sneak about the battlefield, between trees and buildings. When it first came out, DCS had trees you could shoot through....not any more! Cheers.

I am attempting to fly a mission with 3 wing men. After take off I order a spread formation. All wing men comply. The radio menu is then unavailable. The # key or the \ key does not work and radio menu is no longer available? Anyone know what's wrong? Thanks

Hi DCS 2.5.6 release. During training mission "Data Link and Wingmen", the ABRIS Map locked up at full zoom looking at the data link targets on the disused strip. After about 5 minutes the lock up cleared. Don't know what happened, but just thought Id mention it. Data Linked targets were not always attacked by radio command. I had to use the general order to attack targets of opportunity. The AI was a bit lazy! They would report running in, then peel away and go for a jaunt about before re running in? A.I issue? Anyway eventually they all obeyed orders and did their stuff. Had DCS since it began, so know the Black Shark and A10 well. Really like the new Shark cockpit!!! Great job! If you can fly the Shark well and the wingmen obey orders, this is a heck of a module! You could take out a division of tanks with these weapons...really impressive! Please can you make the Tarawa available for the Black Shark to take off from. Unless someone knows a way of doing this? Thanks

Thanks! Got it Cheers

Hi, I am wanting to place a ogg mission sound file into a home made mission. I cant find the ogg file. Its the ogg sound file "ending mission" from the M2kCampaign. Anyone know where the ogg sound is located? Cheers
-
Thanks I see what's changed. The extra "sound" folder was not needed in 2.5.6. I removed it and have the recorded pilot and wingman waves back. Cheers.

Thanks for the heads up from the manual. However if you load CBU's outboard and LGB's inboard, you wont see the LGB (EF1) on the PCA button. In spite of this they still show on the weapons display as loaded ordinance. However, if you select the next (unlit) PCA button inboard of the CBU, the weapon will drop and use the CCRP (auto) system. We are told that the weapon system will select certain delivery methods for each munitions type. SO cbu HAS ccip AND lgb ccrp. I miss the CCRP marker cross, but apparently its not available on the Charlie, only on the "D". Cheers -

OK What I found was the PCA light for the LGB button (EF1) was not lit up. If I selected the PCA button anyway, I could get the LGB's to drop. (Think it was PCA #3, the one to the right of the BFG PCA. I carried the Cluster Bomb and LGB's in 2.5.5, no problem. The difference in 2.5.6 is the darned lamp wont light up so you think you cant arm the LGB! Load was 4 Cluster Bombs and 4 LGB's, with 2 Magic's on outer pylons. Got em all off eventually. The Charlie was always a favourite. Still is, although I need three HOTAS sticks plugged in to operate all the weapons! LOL!! Cheers BTW. The M2k Red Flag is now bugged. Baltic Dragon is having to squash the new bugs with 2.5.6!! -
Thanks Baltic. I have made some missions, some adapted from your DCS M2k Caucuses Campaign. I see there are "Bugs" in these. They worked fine in 2.5.5. The scripted radio calls now seem out of synch? Speaking of radio. I re recorded all the radio files using my own voice and re did a separate package in German. I can not get these to work at all!! About a weeks work lost and ( for me) some realism too! Thanks for the reply. I know how good Red Flag is. Good luck with bug squashing! Best Regards.

2.5.6 full release. When carrying Cluster bombs and LGB's, there is no EL1 in the PCA. BF6 is shown on PCA 2. BFG s shown on weapons display PPA Test Weapons load-out. Can not see LGB (EF1) on PCA when a mixed load is carried. Is this a new limitation for realism in the Charlie, or is it a bug? Or is it me? Cheers. -
Now running 2.5.6 release. Mission 15 is unplayable. There is no contact with Bruiser. No radio message to contact him, no menu item in F10. Briefing says to check in with Bruiser prior to contacting Moonbeam. I am missing that trigger. Tuning to Moonbeam and requesting lazing produces no lazing? Although JTAC responds but doesn't laze anything. LGB just fall as dumb bombs. Wingman is useless. Order him to attack Air Defences and he refuses? There are 4 ZSU's, initial load is three LGB's? Re loading with four is no use anyway since there's no JTAC lazing going on. This is worse than in 2.5.5. I see Berger ignores oncoming F5's? Rest of flights just orbit the target? Eventally JTAC lazed the ZSU's and I got 3 I then used cannon on rail cars, but still failed mission. Unless I'm very wrong this mission cant be completed as it stands. If I could edit it I would use CTLD JTAC. The DCS JTAC is still flaky! Sorry to moan, but I did complete the Red Flag 18 months ago, so I know it did work once. Cheers.

Hello Dmitry, I can not get my sound files to play as in 2.5.5. I only get the standard DCS American voices? My paths are; C:\Users\herky\P3dv4\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\Common\Player and C:\Users\herky\P3dv4\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\Common\Wingman\1 There must be something I'm not doing?

Many thanks. I will have another go. Before 2.5.6, if I wanted to have German speaking wingmen, I just replaced the English wingman folder with my re recorded German speech folder. They all had the same titles, I just replaced the recordings with my German radio sounds. So if the above file structure works then I should be able to substitute the wingman sounds. I will try again tomorrow. Pity about the non standard phrases. I had quite a few extra mission recordings that I could trigger from the mission editor "sound to all/coalition" etc. Looks like I'll have to do without them? I am useless at lua scripts so I don't think I can manage that! Regards.
-
Thanks. I tried adding the folder to saved games, but it doesn't work. I've posted a question on the thread you linked. Hopefully I can get them working again. I have many extra recordings I use in my scripted missions and these are lost! Thanks for the link Regards

Hi, I just downloaded 2.5.6 release and my recorded radio sound files wont play. I recorded all the files using my voice and Audacity. I replaced the files in the DCS sounds folder, these played ok in 2.5.5. Now all I hear are standard DCS American voices. So I copied the files to; C:\Users\herky\P3dv4\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\Common\Player and C:\Users\herky\P3dv4\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\Common\Wingman Unfortunately, this doesn't work. Is there something else I need to do apart from add the sound file folder structure to Saved Games? I spent many hours recording these radio calls and use specific extra ones in certain missions I created. I would appreciate a way to get them back into the game. Thanks.

HI, thanks for the update 2.5.6 release. Just testing it now. Unfortunately I can no longer use my recordings of wingmen and player. I recorded a full suite of replacement voices and some in German. I spent hours recording these and attenuating the voices in Audacity. These are now unavailable in all my missions. All I have is the American accents, which is not what I wanted in a Messerschmitt! Can anyone tell me how I can use the sound from the sound file? E:\DCS World\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\Common\Player and E:\DCS World\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\Common\Wingman\1 DCS appears to ignore these folders from 2.5.6? Thanks.

RED FLAG. I drop my LGB's after contacting JTAC Moonbeam. He is supposed to be lazing the ZSU's, but my bombs fall onto the desert floor and don't hit anything? Looks like the JTAC isn't working, any ideas anyone?? Additionally, asking wingman to attack air defences results in his refusal? So I cant attack and my wingmans refusing orders? EDIT Played this twice tonight. Problem is I don't get the go ahead from Bruiser to contact JTAC Moonbeam. So moonbeam doesn't lase anything? I found sound files in the mission folder that arnt being read back to me. Bruiser is frozen after initial contact?

Hi Baltic, OK just re flew it and it as my error! I did not get saddled and there was no further radio contact. Perfect mission, once I was saddled. Only thing was, after landing, ATC requests taxi F>F>134. Parking 134 has a tanker and a Humvee on it...LOL! BTW, the two previous missions definitely have no ATC approach radio calls, I just land and taxi, then shut down without any Mission Success message. But you know if you've succeeded anyway, so no worries! Thanks. Best regards.

Hi Baltic, Ill play the mission again to be sure. The Georgian campaign is really cool. I wish I could see the Red Flag in the editor, but its not accessible. I was able to access the Georgian Campaign in Mission Editor and have added some extra stuff. Mission 13 actually rescues Berger, he gets on a Blackhawk and makes it to Vaziani! . I even put the Harrier in on this last one, just made sure the radio freqs were ok! But love the Red Flag....Ill try again and report back if I can get it going for me. Cheers

I am on Red Flag 14. The one where you are in a CAP with Metal 1 and Noble 1 F16's. There is supposed to be a rogue pilot who wants to defect in this mission? At least when I played this 18 months ago there was? I just spent the entire mission on CAP between WP3 and WP4. Nothing showed up? No Migs, AWACS was clean the whole time! There's a problem also with Noble flights CAP route. They stay on the wing of Metal 1 south CAP and don't go to their northern CAP. Also the entire group, Metal1 and Noble 1, flies right through Container, over and over again? There was no radio comms at all from anyone after I began my CAP. Can you check Baltic, unless I'm doing something wrong, its not playing correctly? DCS 2.5.5 release version. Thanks.

All is fine untill after Max is located and Migcap is delt with. Last radio message is to contact approach on Ch 10 whilst over apex. ATC says Imc in use and use Tacan and ils. Then there are no further messages. No contact with tower on Ch 4, no permission to land and no message of mission accomplished message. It's a lonely landing into a rain lashed, stormy Nellis. So the ending is a bit disappointing. Looks like I missed the radio trigger, or perhaps it got broke in recent updates? Still a challenging mission with a nice sense of achievement when you decode Max's coords. The Fulcrums are a handful, but notching and sending in my wingman works nicely! Cheers.

Hi, I am replaying the Red Flag campaign. I first completed it about 18 months ago. Now on 2.5.5 release version. The Gazelle mission, sorry forgot the number, but it's the escort Hogs into battle. The Fencer intercept goes ok. Then vectored onto the Gazelles. As before, the Gazelles are hellish to shoot down. But I noticed they don't shoot as accurately as last time. Nevertheless, I couldn't hit any of them. I fired three Magicks and missed each time. Number 4 magick "hung"? I couldn't get it to fire and couldn't jettison it either. Don't know if it's s bug or a pretty realistic error. Anyway, after buzzing around the Gazelles for 10 minutes, the Hogs finish off the tanks. Previously, I recall that they would fly south and engage the Gazelles. This time I got a radio (F10) message to call Winchester and the mission would be a success. This call comes from the Hogs when initiated? So I called that in and flew back to Nellis. At truck stop the Hogs suddenly attacked the three remaining Gazelles, finished them off with Sidewinders (must lock better than the Magicks?). I then got the all clear to RTB and mission report from Hog lead. The lateness of the Hogs attacking the remaining Gazelles seemed to mess up the last part of the mission. On approach, I couldn't get "App" to activate. The PCA panel was locked in AA mode? Just my twopenneth, there were some radio overlap problems also, with my flight (on channel eight, flight) overtalking others on ch2, package (red)? Cheers.

The "Charlie" has to be my favourite. Then the Harrier. When you get to the bomb training remember to assign weapon CMD forward and aft. I don't know if Baltic Dragon has re done the training missions for bombs, if not there is no mention of the weapon CMD forward/aft in the training misdions and if you don't use this command you won't see any bomb symbology! When you complete the training, the best Red Flag out there is by Baltic Dragon! The M2k Red Flag will transform you into a French Fighter Pilot! It's a seriously good module and that Red Flag is worth every penny. Hope he does one for the Harrier, with some FOB included! Cheers.
