Yeah that'll take some getting used to for a while, but I've been in VR since 2017 so that's why I noticed a difference in how low my seating position is in the Rift S. Even in Oculus Home it seems like I'm sitting on the floor.
-
Yes mine does this also. Even when it crashed on me with sound, but no video the white stayed on. I decided to take mine back. Too many annoyances. I'll give Oculus time to iron out the kinks. Besides, I can use that money for something more necessary, like new tires.:)

Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong, but unfortunately this did not help. I connected the CV1 again just to see the difference and there definitely is. I used markings in the carrier deck, so in the Rift S, I don't see certain markings on the deck when I turn my head. However, if I raise up I see them. In the CV1, I can see them when I turn my head. There's got to be something wrong in how I'm setting this up.

This might be the culprit since I'm only tracing the floor. I'll try this and report back.

It didn't seem to help me. I didn't notice any difference. When you're doing the Guardian setup, are you sitting or standing when you have to move the grid to the floor? I've done both ways and neither have helped me.

Mine has been in the blue port since I've installed it and I see white flashes every now & then.

Oh ok. Thanks I'll try that now.

So I connected the CV1 to see what the IPD setting was and it was 70, but I've always played with in-game set to 55(the lower the number, the bigger objects are). I went into DCS and sure enough with the CV1 I'm elevated as expected. So I connected the Rift S back up and changed the IPD to 70 like the CV1. I loaded up DCS again and i'm back at a lower position. Again, it seems I'm about 4ft elevated. I've also noticed even at the Oculus Home, it's like I'm seated on the floor and even the menus are low. I'm all out of options, and it's really annoying since it seems like I'm the only one having this issue.

Anyone else have any other ideas?
-
Yeah I don't get what's wrong. My in-game IPD has always been 55.
-
Did you setup in a seated position or standing?
-
This is why I feel the A-10C is the best in DCS regarding moving mud. The A-G configuration is unmatchable IMO. It's just too damn slow for me.

Hi All, I've noticed sitting in the cockpit of the Hornet and Tomcat, it seems like I'm seated about 4ft off the ground. I've calibrated the guardian setup in both seated and stand up position, but nothing has changed. Previously in the CV1, the last time I calibrated it, I can tell I was seated high because I really had to lean over to see certain cues on the carrier deck. I even changed the in-game IPD setting to 63.5 to match the rift but to no avail. Has anyone else noticed this or am I going crazy? Since I only VR in the seated position, what's the best way to setup? Thanks in advance!!!

Too bad the CV1 remote is not compatible at this time. I'll never use my controllers so hopefully Oculus will make the remote work some time soon.

I went and bought a Logitech G432 headset, because I don't like in-ear earphones that much. They're 7.1 and the sound is good. However, it is a nuisance getting it over the halo design.

Dude, it's still his opinion. Just respect it and move on.

I picked one up from Microcenter. Even though the clarity is better, I'm still on the fence. I'm not sure if it's worth the money for an upgrade. The audio is horrible. I don't know what they were thinking by not just using the CV1 earphones. I'll take these next few days to do more testing. I don't have that sense of height when inside the Hornet or Tomcat so I'll keeping tweaking my rift setup.

Maybe TM will start selling Cougar parts again since the F-16 is being released by DCS. I need new gimbals for my stick but TM said they no longer support spare parts for the Cougar since it's a legacy product. My throttle still works though. Do I have to get the Realsimulator USB adapter or will any gameport to USB adapter work?

It's all about what perspective you look at it. You look at it as a product you will not get for at least 6 months so why rush to buy it. I look at it as a way to further support the development of the Viper/ED. They have to pay the developers in order to continue developing. Why else would they come out with a pre-order sale so early. The F-16 has been on the back-burner since 2008 so I'm sure some programming was already done.

Wait...what...source please EDIT: Oh mean the Comms videos?
-
I guess you have a point. :) It shouldn't delay videos/news either then.
-
I'm sure all of the MP guys are happy about this, but Wag's, will the solution delay the release? Thanks.

This is how bad rumors get started. People speaking like they know facts. Wags' mentioned they're waiting on some 3rd party aircraft to be updated to the new 2.5.5 branch before they can publish the latest OB update.

Thanks for that heads-up.
