  1. Agreed but its across both eyes which solves an issue in VR, the problem is there is no way in VR to select which eye you want to use for a monocle setup. Default sits over your left eye only and this is no good if your right eye dominant.
  2. This is a great idea the "anti flashlight" would definitely be a big help.
  3. Interesting. I have seen this issue myself, although I have for the most part been able to ignore it, there seems to be some artificial dead zones at the extremes of control travel that i oftern wondered about. I do find that i have to sometimes deflect the inputs to all their maximums as i find especially with the pedals and toe brakes, they loose the values. Be intrested in maybe an official response.
  4. As long as they dont use that horrible monocle setup like they seem have for the harrier then it will be awsome. That monocle setup is just plain awful for VR..
  5. The only thing i could think of that would be useful would be for views, maybe when editing for videos. Cant really think of a practical application for it with regards to cockpit controls.
  6. This also happens if you turn abeam to the ships direction when taxing off the wires.
  7. Interesting, is the alignment speed quicker then if you are plugged into a ships INS? If i was to take a guess i would say yes it is?
  8. I wonder if it connects to the ships INS to get position data rather than solely relying on GPS. Be interesting to find out.
  9. My trim method is to hold the FPM just bellow the horizon as the jet slows to around 250kts and then go for the flaps and gear, i add some throttle because the flaps create alot of drag once down, i then switch to using the throttle to maintain level flight. Once the jet is balanced i trim for on speed AOA.
  10. I dont think the blue angels use them.
  11. i've noticed a decrease in performance in VR with the latest driver version and my PC is no patato
  12. Is there any way i could disable the hanger scene if i didn't want to have anything?
  13. So i can bind the finger lift to a switch that can stay open and all the time its open i can use the throttle from ground idle to afterburner without the worry of triggering the idle cut off. If thats thr case thats awsome.
  14. I dont see it working for any air threats that i can recall encountering, also some sam types dont show up, i belive SA6 shows nothing on the warning panel.
  15. Can i bind a button on my warthog throttle to keep the finger lifts held up then? If i did this and chopped the throttles wouldn't i run the risk shutting the engines down inadvertently?
  16. Like the title says i think it would be nice to have an option to hold open the detent switch instead of just a toggle. A visual look or "feel"at a switch position on your hotas could tell you right away if you have the AB detent open or not. Good or bad idea?
  17. LOL!
  18. Nicely done mate!
  19. Pixel density has a role in how far you see targets i think (im in the process of trying different settings to test), as you bump up resolution the dots of far targets blend easier into the background and actually become less visible, there is a sweet spot wit PD and target visibility. I used to run a PD of 2.0 but found that although things were alot less jaggy it actually effected my far sight. If iwent lower on the PD i could start to see things further out but things were more jaggy. I found a PD of about 1.2 or 1.3 with MSAA set to about x2 gives you good balance. Downside to this is there is still an area between BVR and close in (roughly around the 4-6mile mark) that stuff tends to dissappear as the dots become painted in their colours and just completley dissappear. This is a nightmare in aircombat. Apart from aforementioned above there is no comparison to VR.
  20. How did they(ED) manage to get all the system information for the KA-50 then?
  21. I have also noticed there is also a faint dark to light band mid way down the screen when looking at the sea on the Persian gulf map. Its a bit like having the sun visor half down on your helmet.
  22. Noticed this the other day too, I tried ticking slider in the axis tuning but it still does the same thing. Definitely a bug of some sort because the throttle reads no dead zone in the axis config screen.
  23. I dont really know what to say.....
  24. What do you have your pixel density set to in game? Are you using MSAA and at what level? The two biggest frame killer's are PD and MSAA, you need to trade with these two settings to get the best looks vs performance. I would also sugest that you set the power profile of your gpu to "prefer maximum performance". As any other setting will try to dynamiclly adjust the core speed of the GPU and this plays havoc with ASW.
  25. All i do is go to the cockpit views drop down in the controls menu and set one of your hat switchs alomg with a modifier like alt or shift and then add the directions you want to move to the hat.
