  1. VERY refreshing! Looks amazing.
  2. So it sounds like the boats have been burned. I sincerely hope ED does not give up on the performance problem.
  3. If we keep 2.7.6, can we have all the current aircraft fixes by downloading the modules again? Or do we have to have a current DCS World to match?
  4. Bump. We need all the optimization we can get now.
  5. The manual in the F-16C\Doc folder was updated October 24th.
  6. @BIGNEWY I just noticed something in the patch notes for DCS 2.7.7.14727 https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/openbeta/2.7.7.14727/ that is different from the 'Changelog and Updates' that you posted on October 20. The last line of the DCS World section of the Changelog is Added new water shaders but the patch notes does not have this. I'm not into any conspiracy theories, but perhaps you could explain the difference? Were the water shaders a late addition? I appreciate all your efforts. Thanks!
  7. I did get this going. For reference, I had to unpack the .miz file and edit the mission text file: From: ["clouds"] = { ["density"] = 4, ["thickness"] = 470, ["preset"] = "Preset1", ["base"] = 4200, ["iprecptns"] = 0, }, -- end of ["clouds"] To: ["clouds"] = { ["density"] = 0, ["thickness"] = 200, ["preset"] = "Preset0", ["base"] = 2500, ["iprecptns"] = 0, }, -- end of ["clouds"] Then repack the .miz file. Thanks for the tip @Yurgon!
  8. The whole purpose of an open beta is to catch problems before software goes into release. There are significant fps problems with the beta, and yet now it's been pushed to release. I may be wrong, but the only reason to do this seems to be to sell the new campaigns. Sorry to be so negative but this is really frustrating.
  9. Good thing I didn't quote you. Saving a campaign mission after weather changes is locked out in the Mission Editor, at least on the few I tried.
  10. @baltic_dragon I assume these missions make use of clouds. If so, is there a way to turn these off in the campaign? I can only get acceptable framerates with no clouds after the recent patches.
  11. "Nothing clear" - that doesn't give me much faith in whatever is pushed out tomorrow.
  12. I also did not see much noticeable difference turning off GI. The clouds made all the difference for me.
  13. This made a big difference for me. Changing the clouds in a mission from 'Scattered 4' to 'Nothing' let me play at my pre-patch graphic settings and fps. Adding more clouds made the fps incrementally lower.
  14. @BIGNEWY - Can ED at least acknowledge that there is a real problem here?
  15. Never in the field of virtual conflict was so much sacrificed from land to water.
  16. At least for me this was not quite true. Changing the water from medium to low and the visibility range from high to medium did get enough fps back to what I had before the patch. Obviously this is a worse user experience for me, but at least it's playable. I see no benefit from the water shaders, it's a step backwards for me.
  17. Same here. With vsync it's down from pretty constant 60 to 30. Lowering graphic settings helps a lot, but rather disappointing.
  18. Really an amazing resource. Does anyone know what BTN means?

I must admit I was not going to get this, but it looks superb, especially the cockpit shots. You sold me!
  20. The size of the download and the amount of free disk space will be different for everyone. The Updater knows both of these things before it starts the actual process, so a message to advise you of this and give you a chance to move things around before it starts I think would be helpful to many people.
  21. I did this too, it's a great solution.
  22. Many thanks for the update! I don't see any differences in the F/A-18C EN manual though. Various updates of the english Early Access Hornet Manual
  23. Wow! I had totally missed this. Amazing material! Also interested in your Arduino projects. Have you had a chance to check out the Raspberry Pi Pico yet?
