  1. If you black out you're lucky if you're not dead. Either you're going to lawn dart into the ground or get shot if your aircraft auto-levels. When it happens, you're unconscious for a time (depends on the person) and then slowly become more aware of what's happening. Most likely what's happened is you've completely forgotten what you were doing, what happened, and where you are. There's a reason you train for tolerance, not recovery.
  2. You have to remember it's also more clear before it's recorded, rendered and processed by youtube as well. The issue you have when getting into large screens like that is pixel density. A smaller monitor of the same resolution will give you better results right now with how the scaling and visual range works. If you can get a 4k and push the frames for it though you'd be in good shape, but a 27" is all I play on right now.
  3. I feel like I've been in enough dogfights that I can predict where an enemy is going to be, so that definitely helps me pick them up, especially if they're below me. Besides that, you really just have to stay locked onto them the entire time, they are difficult. I upgraded my monitor from 1080p to 1440p since these videos and it's made an incredible difference as well.
  4. Tacview recordings are disabled on the Mirage v Mig server unfortunately. I pulled power at 58k and 25ish miles from base and glided it in. I actually just put myself in the same situation again and stopped at the ramp with 50kg
  5. A G-Suit really is only good for about 1 extra G of tolerance, it's not a crazy magic suit like most people think. Conditioning of the body is the most important factor IMO, and the next would be technique. You just build up a tolerance over time as well. The first time I pulled 2Gs I thought it felt crazy. First time I did 4 I thought I was dying. By the end of my aero training I could do 6 for 15-20s no problem without the hic maneuver or G Suit. Yeah, like how painful/difficult it is to turn your head, how hard it is to breath, how the tops of your eyelids start falling down, your cheeks sag, etc. It's a good time though!
  6. So I just had the most fun flight so far in the Mirage. Get 2 530D kills, find another target, miss a magic shot, close and kill with guns. I look down at my fuel and have about 2100kg left, so decide to stay. A few minutes later 3 MiGs come flying up Get one more with guns another with the Magic (was saving it in case I absolutely needed it, and a teammate was about to get shot by him). Look down, 1300kg fuel left, and immediately spot another mig rolling onto my 6. Dump flares and break, force the overshoot and get a few rounds into him and watch him explode as he hits the ground. 1000kg, what I use as bingo. Turn and head to base when I see another mig maneuvering to get in position behind me. It's either go down from fuel loss or get shot down, so I decided to fight. Maneuver behind him and put 2 short bursts into him, which exhausts the rest of my cannon. He gets battered with rounds but somehow is still flying. He turns again so I take the chance and go full burner on the deck away from him in hopes he loses me, then burn vertical to 58k ft. Just how much fuel did I have when I put the parking brake on and started my refuel/rearm?
  7. Add these to your default.lua in \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Input\M-2000C\joystick --FBW {down = 3420, up = 3420, cockpit_device_id = 3, value_down = 0, name = 'Custom - FBW - FBW Disconnect Cover Closed', category = 'Fly By Wire'}, {down = 3420, up = 3420, cockpit_device_id = 3, value_down = 1, name = 'Custom - FBW - FBW Disconnect Cover Open', category = 'Fly By Wire'}, {down = 3421, up = 3421, cockpit_device_id = 3, value_down = 0, name = 'Custom - FBW - FBW Disconnect Switch Off', category = 'Fly By Wire'}, {down = 3421, up = 3421, cockpit_device_id = 3, value_down = 1, name = 'Custom - FBW - FBW Disconnect Switch On', category = 'Fly By Wire'}, --Jetison {down = 3249, up = 3249, cockpit_device_id = 6, value_down = 1, name = 'Custom - Jet - Selective Jettison On', category = 'Armament Panel (PCA)'}, {down = 3249, up = 3249, cockpit_device_id = 6, value_down = 0, name = 'Custom - Jet - Selective Jettison Off', category = 'Armament Panel (PCA)'}, {down = 3248, up = 3248, cockpit_device_id = 6, value_down = 1, name = 'Custom - Jet - Selective Jettison Safety Cover Open', category = 'Armament Panel (PCA)'}, {down = 3248, up = 3248, cockpit_device_id = 6, value_down = 0, name = 'Custom - Jet - Selective Jettison Safety Cover Closed', category = 'Armament Panel (PCA)'}, {down = 3409, up = 3409, cockpit_device_id = 6, value_up = 0, value_down = 1, name = 'Custom - Jet - Emergency Jettison', category = 'Armament Panel (PCA)'},

    Air refueling

Correct, it's a limitation based on the system itself.
  9. I don't know for sure because I haven't looked up real manuals (can't speak/read French), however I trust RAZBAM. A quick google search can at least verify (in images) that this same system was used in the 2000C's close cousin aircraft. Calm down, Samuel L. Jackson
  10. Yes, it will be implemented If that's the case then you could make the argument that every fighter aircraft is blind or limited without AWACS. As it stands now, you have a total of 120* left to right coverage, and 48*(I believe each scan line is 12* unless I remember incorrectly) coverage up and down. Once Antenna elevation and azimuth movement is implemented you will be able to scan even more volume, especially if operating in a flight (think #1 scan up left, #2 up right, etc.) Yes, beaming works almost too well right now, however if you wait till you're in usable range of the 530 to lock AND fire nearly simultaneously they really won't have time to maneuver, and even if they do you just keep pushing the attack and finish them off. It's going to take more work to get into range of a F-15C or any of the other FC3 aircraft really, but again you have to look at the tools available at the time of creation, purpose, etc. Calling this aircraft blind without any other support is misleading.
  11. The pipper just gives you ranging information, thus no target movement information. It's a glorified range marker.
  12. IPS and 60hz, 6ms. I use a GTX 780 and, with my settings anyway, get 80-90fps on the ground and 100+ in the air
  13. 100% correct. For obvious reasons these systems will be classified for years after the system is out of service. It's very easy to defeat them if you know their weaknesses and how they work.
  14. I was at 24" 1080 before, now I upgraded to 27" 1440 and it's made a huge difference.
  15. The 2000C's RWR is supposed to place threats closer to the inner ring as signal strength increases, or at least that's what I read somewhere.
  16. I've been doing the same thing with the gunsight after that last awful shooting video i posted last week, and it's been working well. Since then I've upgraded monitors and got a new HOTAS, so I'll have more content to pump out shortly! Nice to see this being used for some good!
  17. I'll see what I can put together for you guys.
  18. It's back on now... with a 500 ping. Unplayable
  19. Anyone see the server? It isn't showing up for me. If you know it's on and have the server IP I would be grateful if you posted it here. I'm trying to teach a friend to fly the Mirage and it's difficult anywhere but this server
  20. There's two different commands for selection of the Magic II. The one in the HOTAS group works when mapped to my joystick, I cannot comment on the one listed in the weapons group.
  21. You don't even need to get that complex in aircraft like the A-10. You can get DME off a TACAN, in which case your radial is also displayed, thus you can mark your position in seconds. After that, mark out the course and distance, get that radial/distance off the TACAN then you know when you're at the point. The method you described is triangulation, and is normally done only if you don't have DME. It's a commonly taught topic in private pilot training. Rule of thumb conversion is just to take your speed to the nearest number divisible by 60, or even 6 if you drop the last 0. Each multiple is 1 mile a minute, fly for that number of minutes. To be accurate you need to be using TAS, or better yet, GS. IRL, as described by sierra 99, they will tell you to fly to a fix, or put you on vectors. For example, flying back at my home airport and approaching from the east for the ILS 35, ATC would tell me to turn left 200 vectors ILS 35, descend and maintain 3200'. After complying and flying that direction for awhile, they would then say, "Turn right heading 320 until established (on the localizer), cleared ILS 35. For VFR flying, you'd call up a typical airport at 10 miles saying you're inbound. They'd respond with, *callsign* enter right downwind runway 35, report the downwind, or something to that nature. How it's portrayed in DCS in incorrect, but seeing as ATC is bugged half the time anyway the entire system will have to be looked at.
  22. Easiest option would be to not show servers that run on maps you don't have installed.
  23. IR missiles would be more than a fun fight. As it stands now it's extremely easy to take R-3Rs out of play by flying tree top level, which nearly anyone that previously flew the MiG does already. But yes, I know what you're saying here. The Mirage is more maneuverable than the F-15, and depending on how high you fly, more so an the rest of the FC3 aircraft as well. MiG-21 vs F-5E will be dominated by the MiG (as long as they keep the AMRAAMs off the F-5)
  24. My biggest comments were the procedures of an ILS approach. I actually wrote up a big long explanation in reply to that video yesterday but felt it would come off ass too rant-y. Key talking points of it were to do a little flight planning to know your safe altitudes to descend to before glideslope intercept, don't chase the needles, stay on glideslope (and don't go below for any reason), plan ahead, and make sure you give yourself enough time to become established on a stabilized approach. Glideslope intercept will always be from below (fly level until you capture glideslope) and you'll normally be on the localizer 10 miles out.
  25. They could easily turn it into an IR missile only or guns only server. It's more fun that way anyway
