  1. Just take the URL tags out, as well as everything before V= in the url itself. Hoping so!
  2. Thanks buddy, looking forward to the challenge
  3. Awesome! I have been pretty bad about getting on lately, between getting the flu, flight instructing, and other things going on I haven't touched DCS in about a week and a half. In more exciting news, was just selected today to be a Naval Aviator. Doing this for real!
  4. A point in the center. What's the difference between a non-moving SAM site and a building besides size? Obviously I have never used/studied these missiles outside of the sim so I don't know their capabilities in and out
  5. FC simply launches the missile to a certain location on the ground, correct? I use it to launch on SAM sites, however if they move it doesn't work at all. He could have been referring to pressing TMS Up to get the IR Mav to try to select the blob and it working.
  6. Just watch the time of flight on the left of your HUD before launch. Make sure it's under 60 seconds or the mav will self detonate
  7. This. Make sure you're not locked on anything, as you can't IFF. Also, make sure the Type 81 IFF transponder switch is on. It's RV 4, the little silver switch to the left of the RWR power switch.
  8. Come on blob.... Come onnnnnn DIE BLOB DIE
  9. The problem with this is that it's irresponsible to produce incorrect guides and give people false information. Teaching is supposed to get you into the information so that very thing doesn't happen. You would get much, much better results with the extra hour of studying before writing a list of items to cover in a video.
  10. Just keep your descent rate 1m/s or below upon touchdown and follow the manual for airspeeds. Everything else you will hear is normally a little all over the place.
  11. Historically true, but really can't do that against the gen 4 fighters though. They would see you on radar a hundred miles away and launch a few missiles at you and you wouldn't even know it. With the radar only looking 1.5* down, you really can't play around up high.
  12. Close fights. This aircraft loves high AoA. Use the emergency afterburner as well. Although this clip doesn't show a full fight, it does demonstrate the high rate of turn that's possible, and even faster turns are available at slightly slower speeds. 7d8ciL_mYcc
  13. They extend and retract into the bottom of the wings. At speeds above 700kph they're subject to getting ripped off. Just make sure to retract them before that mark and you're good to go
  14. As everyone else said, nice try, but please try again. If you're going to say exactly what the switch you're clicking at that moment is, make sure you know what it really is. Noticed a few times where your description of the switch was just wrong. Please for the love of god don't use the gun cam. It was only used in training sorties and serves no function in DCS. I die a little more every time I see a video with it on. Also, RSBN is like a VOR. ARC is the NDB equivalent
  15. Above about 55,000ft you're practically always above mach 1. I was stalled at 88,000ft still going over Mach 1. Air density is so low up there that you just don't slow down, and you need a massive TAS in order to keep control of the aircraft.
  16. Yeah, any year now!
  17. Two of three missions flown, as Yurgon mentioned, only a few spelling notes and small houskeeping items to fix on the ones I've played. I'll finish the last one tonight and send the notes back
  18. In my experiences you have enough for a go around if you need. You can land at higher fuel loads such as 1500, I have as well, however if you touch down with little more than 1m/s descent rate then it's time to repair
  19. With external stores it's recommended to land with no more than 500L of fuel remaining. Without the recommendation is 700L
  20. You could pretty easily carry the drop tank to 12,000m, I've done it before, it just takes forever. I haven't tested your configuration, but I would assume the max zoom climb to be around 20,000m, max cruise around 14,000m, and max mach around 11,000m
  21. What I normally do is climb to about 8,000m, accelerate, climb to 12,000m, accelerate to m2.05, then pitch for a 45* climb. You can get it up to about 25,000m or so if I remember correctly. Don't worry about fuel, you don't burn anything really at those altitudes, and your engine will flame out anyway because of the altitude. The F-4 that climbed to 95,000ft or whatever accelerated to max speed at 25,000ft, then pitched for 45* so that's what I based my trial on. EDIT: Re-tried this method to see if I remembered correct or not. It goes pretty high. 88,662ft (27,024m) This is for a fun, max zoom-climb though. I'm not sure the actual max cruising altitudes, but the best altitude for maximum speed is about 12,350m according to my experiences.
  22. It's for training purposes. It's not used in combat, and no function is modeled in the game.
  23. Same here if you need more testers. I'll have time this weekend for sure!
  24. I don't know how you guys get kills with R60Ms past like 2km. I must get ones with dud motors R-3Rs can strike effectively at about 7km head on, 2-3km from behind I've found.
