  1. As the code base between 2.0 and 1.5 is basically the same, the mod should work with both versions.
  2. The lower the frequency, the less impact the earth has on the propagation of radio waves. 3Mhz radio transmitters will transmit around the world due to ground hopping of the radio waves and reflections performed by the ionosphere, more at night than during daytime. Theoretically, two Mi8's on opposite sides of the planet can use their Yadro HF radio to communicate with each other. Will the terrain masking take into account the curvature of the earth if that's been implemented in the map?
  3. There's ample work for another crew member aboard the Mi-8, regardless of normal flying or moving into a cmbat enviroment. Navigating and spotting comes to mind as well as doing the radio calls and fuel planning.
  4. Will Simpleradio also be available for JTACs and ATC in a MP enviroment?
  5. When selecting a RIM-92 MANPAD unit as tactical commander or forward observer, any player entering a zone of roughly 100 meters around the controlled MANPAD crashes. The 132nd tried the following: - Entering as HMMMV JTAC, SA-18, SA-13 and unarmed HMMV, no crashing of other players. - Entering as RIM-92 MANPAD (Stinger) and walking to other players starting up their aircraft (KA50 and A10C), these players crash once the MANPAD is in range - We ran a vanilla mission file which will be attached as well as log files. - We disabled UniversRadio for the tests but with and without UR, DCS crashes. All players were in the same coalition and the MANPAD was USA faction. Crash files shows an access violation. Antivirus programs used are AVG and Windows Defender Logs.zip
  6. This more than anything else. Last night, I was on our MP server just doing traffic patterns with touch and gos on the runway. I must've made 10 or 20 landings and the more you have under your belt, the more you realize you get closer and closer to that sweet spot of controlling e.g. she does exactly what you want her to do!
  7. Seems to be the same dump as the access violation / server time-out thread BIGNEWY.
  8. In my wing, we're setting up PAR approach procedures to "talk" planes down onto the runway using LOTATC's PAR function.
  9. In this very thread my dear sir! http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2847337&postcount=22
  10. A helicopter is inherently unstable as opposed to fixed wing aircraft who will leisurely follow whatever input is being given. So, a helicopter always will try to do whatever you don't want it to do and you will constantly need to compensate with opposite control inputs. Make sure your corrections are small and smooth, avoid being abrupt because you'll quickly be in the "Pilot induced oscillation" region of movement where your inputs will only make things worse.
  11. Maybe it has something to do with dynamic roll-over, there's a section on it in the manual.
  12. The biggest thing I see with complex ECM is that once you start upgrading one system, you're now going to need to upgrade every single Radar/ECM unit in the game with their own parameters and functionalities. The russian system is totally different then the AN/ALQ pods carried by western fighters. Then we have the SAM units, EWR and Shipborne sensors.....
  13. Or workaround the issue, we routinely use KA50's and A10C's as CAS platforms utilizing the systems they have. Sure, the A10 is capable of more sophisticated CAS as opposed to the KA50 but it will also accept coordinates. For a dynamic battlefield with moving targets and changing priorities, nothing beats a good talk-on and, if needed, smoke, laser or tracer mark to get the pilot on-target.
  14. Can't make it tonight regretfully.
  15. I feel so stupid right now....
  16. Has it already finished?
  17. I'll try to be there as well but rather occupied by work...
  18. We currently have the issue we're all familiar with in MP missions. A pilot joins, the aircraft pops into existance in the simulator and after he/she landed, it dissappears again. Someone on the forums suggested: It should be doable with a static object that is then swapped for a player controlled one when the player enters the cockpit... and vice versa. Can this be done with a script? If yes, how does one proceed?
  19. There is a lot in your post that the mission editor already can perform, it just needs someone to put it all in there.
  20. Apparently, according to Wikipedia, it has a radar altimeter. In what capacity it can follow terrain however, is not known. Once launched the Sea Eagle is completely autonomous, with the flight and target seeking completely controlled by the on-board computer system which functions according to programmable options covering a large set of cruise, search and attack options, including a simple, pre-programmed 'point and shoot' mode that allows it to be carried by basic aircraft without radar, using targeting information radioed to the pilot from external sources or even visually located by him, with the missile's short minimum range assisting this. Other modes integrate with more sophisticated weapon systems and sensors and allow Sea Eagle to be programmed during flight by the parent aircraft using targeting data from the aircraft's on board radar sensors or via off-board data-link networks. 'Dog leg' routes can be programmed into the missile's computer to allow a salvo of missiles to arrive from different directions, saturating the target's defences. A twin-gyro attitude reference system, digital flight control computer and autopilot are used to give the missile an over-the-horizon capability. A C-band radar altimeter allows the missile to fly at very low level, minimising the range at which a ship can detect it. The J-band active radar target seeker can detect targets up to 30 km away, allowing a mid-course update of target position through a 'pop up' manoeuvre if required.
  21. Or apply to a virtualwing and train and learn at the same time with others!
  22. DCSBios is an in-ouput program designed for cockpit builders to enable them to make all the gauges, needles and switches to work as they would ingame. You might want to check out the input/output part of the forum.
  23. Track replay is an outstanding issue that still hasn't been fixed.
  24. How does one become an air controller? I've got LOTATC installed and use it regularly in my wing. I picked something up on being on a white list...
