You can change the size of a squad loaded in the helicopter in the config file. Also, you can state whether or not you want a MANPAD unit to be included for squads of 6 persons or more. I don't know if the wight of the helicopter is affected by adding troops to it. I know that simulated sling loading doesn't add weight, normal (1.5) slingloading does. -

You mean the script? We did a test yesterday and were able to set-up a HAWK SAM site, drop troops and transport crate(s) to fabricate a MANPAD and HMMV unit. -

I'm thinkinf of a zone where the manpad unit will be dropped which then, upon a unit being dropped/spawned there to set to invisible. -

I got it to work, thanks for a very, very nice script there Ciribob. Managed to get 10 troops dropped off and got a Stinger crate to its destination. Hovering over the crate was hard bu I got it working. One question I have, though not very important, we'd like to set our MANPAD unit, which we use as a human controlled JTAC, to invisible. It is at all possible to set such things to a unit using a LUA script? -
In 1.2.16 the trees simply disappear when selecting IR view. They must've changed something is my guess. Also, normally, trees will obscure IR to a certain extend as their leaves block IR.

Excuse me for asking, I'm a .lua noob. I can't seem to get the CTLD script to work correctly under 1.2.16. It states the demo misison uses a newer version of the misison editor. Does this influence the way the script works at all or is it compatible wiht 1.2.16? -
I regularly play as a human JTAC with my wing and others in trianing mission but also in combat missions. It is essential, regretfully, to set the JTAC as invisible for the RED units otherwise you're short lived when something comes into range. In other missions I play as game master and command units for JTACs to spot, identify and (have) attacked by other pilots, be it FW or RW.

This is how it's suppose to behave. Always apply forward cyclic and trim once to "hold" the cyclic in that position. With practice, you can brake when taxiing using small cyclic inputs as well as going reverse..

Hello everyone, When going through some MI-8 videos on Youtube, I noticed one video where, on the center console, there was a tablet. This tablet was, presumably, used for navigation as some sort of moving map I think. Does anyone know the name of this mod? I tried looking on the DCS site user files but was unable to find anything..

Just modded my pedals to remove the center detent and spring, after all, there's no centering force in helicopter pedals as far as I know..

Here I am, exactly the same problem with the shuddering at 50 km/h. I've been avoiding it like the plague since I thought it was the precursor to the VRS. Although I can fly the MI-8, somewhat, I'm constantly dreading the descent-rate at slow speed (dead-mas curve) and still need to get to grasp on a good method of decelerating and descending without crashing. The MI-8 does grow on me though, every time I fly it, I get better at it and it brings me more fun. In the beginning I danced the can-can for a long time as per Chucks MI-8 guide :P How do you approach a landing zone where you have to land vertically, like a FARP?

I'va got the ARK-22 set to channel 1 which is Lochini and the inner/auto/outer switch set to outer. It points in the direction of the beacon, no doubt and when I'm on yop of the beacon, it still shows west. So I chase the needle slowly and a few hundred meter west of the beacon location on the map, I see the needle change to the east.

Having edited the ARK.lua file to include Tblisi Lochini airport, I went ahead and used the Outer beacon as reference to fly an approach. However, regardless of how I fly, if I chase the needle, I end up hundreds of meters to the west of the actual Beacon location. The screenshot below shows me on runway 31L with the ADF channel set to the beacon, however, my heading is on the yellow marker and thus my nose points towards the beacon, it's not where it is supposed to be. Can anyone confirm this? This is 1.2.16 we're talking about, I can't run the shark on 1.5 yet...

If you really want to have a real experience with radios, join a virtual wing like the 132nd or 476th or any of those out there, install ARIES or Universradio together with the teamspeask 3 plugin crosstalk and that, with human controllers, is as real as it gets if you ask me.. -

Well, my PC and ED support are breaking their heads on how to get it running. The support guys themselves did the exact same steps as mentioned above and still it throws the error of not having an activated bs1 available.. To be continued -

Well, either way the wind at altitude is a huge storm blowing in from the tail at 700 km/h otherwise I can't explain the pitch up attitude. Strange behavior at first sight indeed.
