Throttle and uncontrollable behaviour
Looney replied to mikethemadmonk's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Check your axis assignments on all controller, there's a great chance that you're experiencing double inputs to some of the axis. -
BS2 upgrade from BS1 ... key issue??
Looney replied to Blindeye_03's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Me too, now support wants to know what my problem is since I own a full version of BS2...:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh: -
Hi DArt, We are still seeing problems when three LOTATC users are connected and a fourth joins, crashing at least one of the others. This then ping-pongs as the users try to reconnect. We are using RC3.

Noticed this too and would like to see this being implemented as well

That looks like the controller of my wife!

I'd be happy if that was my landing! :)

As welk as the knowledge of how full your tanks are at take-off :)

A few comments to the pictures. The "Roll" autopilot channel doesn't control roll, it controls the rudder, hence the Yaw axis. Yaw would be a better name. Second, the VSI meter on the Doppler gauge is far more accurate then the normal VSI. When entering the slow-speed part of your descend, try to use the Doppler gauge located top right of the pilot console to get an indication of how the helicopter is moving relative to a spot on the ground. The index on the left of the gauge shows your vertical speed in far greater detail then the normal VSI. If you "zero" out all the white bars, you're hovering stationary. Go any faster then 50km/h and the gauge will show a white/red STOP mark. Choose a spot on the ground through your left or left-front window and try to fixate that spot in that windowpart. Now you have yourself a good visual reference to aid in maintaining a stationary hover, slowly descend trying to keep that reference fixed. Just my € 0.02

Is this a bug? Shval laser and vikhr missiles
Looney replied to Alto's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Perhaps you burned out the laser? -
if you use the heading autopilot channel you are not required to move the pedals as the autopilot will trim the pedals based on current flight parameters. Once the small N symbol appears on the heading autopilot display, the autopilot is then actually actuating the rudder pedal element and you can see the pedal move. This all provided you are not touching your pedals. This causes confusion because you are not moving the pedals yourself, your real life pedals are still centered and the virtual counterpart has been offset. If, at any time, you decide to use the pedals, some quirks will turn up where you cannot use full deflection or enough deflection to get the helicopter to do what you intended. The only way to counter this is to keep watch on the heading autopilot indicator and if you see it move to the left or right side, deflect the pedal yourself. It will reset the heading autopilot channel (seen by the fact that the white bar will be centered) and pause the autopilot channel (the white bar is centered and doesn't move) until you let go of the pedals once again and are on a steady heading. The other option is to fully reset the trim. I don't know if there's a way to reset pedal trim only.

Instead of immortal, set the spawned unit to invisible, that way the bad guys can't see him but good guyes can. . -
Spring Tension Campaign... Mission one?
Looney replied to denzilangoff's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
you can also use the kneeboard and CTRL-K to get a mark on the kneeboard showing your location when you pressed the key. That way, you can adjust heading towards your next waypoint. -
What was your speed while cruising and, if left alone, would the helicopter self-correct the problem?

Looney replied to Ciribob's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
What are the experiences on the multiplayer servers? no crashes with the script running on a server with 20-30 pilots? -
How do you close the cargo door? I tried the canopy key but that didn't work...

I really hope Kobac tries the Gazelle out when it gets sold. We can gain a lot of inside information on how to handle the Gazelle from a real pilot. In my view, that's a golden opportunity not to let pass.

Finally got round to learning the MI8
Looney replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
up to 25 should be possible in the Mi-8. -
Top panel of the pilot and commander seats. You have a large dial which you can set to one of the radios. Set it to the R-863 and set the switch from ICS to radio. From that large dial, go left and down and you'll see a button labelled FM/AM, set it to the DOWN position (AM). Select flight engineer and set the frequency selector which you see on the lower right part of the panel between your knees to the correct frequency. You now should be able to talk to ATC/other flights on VHF/UHF.

Then again, the whole ATC stuff isn't complete in DCS 2.0 AFAIK

Not really, more like 68 hours...

Impressive flying skills! really looking forward to attending "class" with you AlexanderT! Going to look at the video again, also, I need to practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice .....

noob education needed here... what can the SA-342M do?
Looney replied to hannibal's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Since the Gazelle is equipped with a RWR and the KA50 not, using a combined force of KA50's and one or two Gazelles for SEAD comes to mind. Triangulate positions with the RWR, outside of the SAM range and have the KA50's take out the target. Hmmm, I'm going to make a mission with this, should be fun! -
Did you download DCS world? If not, do that and log in using your digitalcombatsimulator.com credentials. Once logged in, open the module manager and if everything check out, there should be an option to install the BS2 within DCS World. When that's done, you and your friend can fly together.
