  1. QUESTION 1 - unfortunately yes. It's something ED has been working on for years but have also said for all that time that they were still looking for a solution and there was no easy answer (i.e. they're trying to figure it out, it's not just a solution that's waiting it's turn to be implemented when the devs have time) . The current solution is Reshade to adjust the brightness (esp. at night). You'll find posts in this subforum how to do that. QUESTION 2 - 1st thing to check is in your DCS settings, make sure you have the MONITORS set as "winwing". If you don't (i.e. it says 1 monitor) it won't pay attention to the proper layout and IIRC looks like what you described.
  2. And, should go without saying, the F-18. Mentioning that only in case you had uninstalled it at some point for space and forgot to re-add it before you tried this campaign. But Rudel_chw answer is 99% likely the cause.
  3. It's in the kneeboard that you can pull up in game. I'd also advocate for the kneeboards to be available as a pdf (and I think Baltic already indicated he was looking at doing so). In the mean time, if you open the .miz file (it's just a zip file), you can find the jpg version of those pages. your DCS main folder/Mods/campaigns/F-18 Arctic Thunder/ then open the mission you want it for. In the .miz file zip: KNEEBOARD/IMAGES and you'll find them there. You can copy them or print them as needed.
  4. Yep, tried all the different options including "fly again" from the debrief screen. Thanks for checking. This doesn't seem to be a widespread issue or I'd have expected to see more reports. That's the really confusing part. And it should be a really simple trigger so not a lot to go wrong with it.
  5. Not sure what's happening on your end, but an "always-on connection" still isn't required on my end. I just booted my DCS, then physically disconnected it from internet (it's got a wired connection and I double checked with a browser it wasn't connected) and flew for 20 minutes with no issue. Then I shut down my DCS and rebooted and got the normal sequence of "couldn't connect to server" and " you have a saved authorization valid for xxxx amount of time" and continued on and it worked completely normally with all my modules. Only time I've seen it boot me "login expired" has been when it was connected to internet and I had DCS up on my gaming computer and without thinking opened a 2nd instance on my laptop that I use for mission editing (or vice versa) and the originally running instance will get booted. It appears the issue is on your end somewhere and not something that ED has changed.
  6. I tried multiple restarts and it didn't help. Also tried flipping through radio presets (to ATIS and ground). Likely something simple that's not triggering, but I can't figure out what it is
  7. @baltic_dragon I'm also having issue with getting any comms at the start of the mission. Removed all mods, did slow repair on DCS, deleted and reinstalled the campaign. Not sure where to go next. Track attached for what it's worth. Arctic Thunder M1.trk

    CTD

I'd start by removing your mods. UH-60L seems to often cause problems (I think I've seen a report of it being a problem with the latest patch).
  9. Are you in the AIRBOSS SLOT? If you're still in your plane slot it won't work even if you function key to get to the airboss station. Ability to use the airboss station must be turned on in the mission when it's created.
  10. That's obviously at the start of the flight, so you didn't bother including a trackfile why? You've been around long enough to know that's going to be the 1st ask. Sure, maybe it's "obvious" to reproduce, but it makes sure the same conditions (and bindings) are used.
  11. That's pretty obvious in the post 2 above yours (not sure that's what ED is using, but it appears to support ED's interpretation).
  12. I get it, and I'm not opposed, but too often people assume it's almost no effort to do what they want when that's not always the case. And even if it's only 2 hours of dev time, why should that be spent on something only a limited number of people use vs something with a bigger impact. ED likely isn't always right in their priorities, but I suspect they get it right more often than not.
  13. System RAM: 16293 MB, Pagefile: 2432 MB This is very likely your problem. While technically min requirement is 16 GB, realistically 32 GB is required since updates this summer. And if you don't have that you absolutely need at least 32GB and probably 64 GB "static" pagefile (i.e. min and max).
  14. Really, the WW software hasn't given me reason to. 97% of my issues are user error (forgetting to start it ). For what I use it for it's pretty plug and play easy. If it wasn't for syncing the lighting for the A-G and A-A lights etc I really wouldn't need it. But now we're just derailing the OP intent.
  15. When I first started working full time out of university, the company I was working for had their pension plan go bankrupt. The pensioners instantly had their monthly cheques cut in half. Most of them were hourly workers that wouldn't have had a high income to begin with. It was at least 5 years (likely longer IIRC) before that got settled out of court and there was little or no communication other than the occasional "we're working on it" from the class action lawsuit that resulted. And I'd argue it was a little higher priority to get solved than a frozen DCS module for the pensioners affected. Hopefully this goes faster, but 8 months is hardly even the end of the beginning stage yet.
  16. Totally get that. I have the WinWing full MIP setup and if I forget to run the SimAppPro software or it isn't working for some reason, I have to stop and restart everything or it drives me nuts . But I also understand that just because ** I ** want something doesn't mean that very many people want the same and therefore may not be an ED priority.
  17. If you're so convinced that so many use multi-screen in ED maybe post a survey asking. And look at the number of total respondents that actually have it vs the % that do use it (those who do are more likely to respond, so if 10 say yes and 5 say no that suggests very few total users actually use it). Because while you think a majority use multi-screen I haven't seen any evidence that there are very many users just based on the total posts regarding it in the forums (even versus VR which is arguably no where near the majority of users).
  18. Sorry you're not getting what you want, but I struggle to think that more than a very small minority use a multi-monitor setup. There are clearly only a small number of posts in the forums regarding it -- there is a whopping 4 people in this thread using it (which isn't conclusive evidence, but certainly points that way). Claiming ED is a "DEI company" certainly isn't going to help your argument at all.

    Map Size is Final

I doubt you'll get the option to get details in the extreme western part of PG map even if they fill those areas in on the Iraq map. Simple reason: PG is an old map and made with a totally different technology to what the newer maps are using. So there would be almost no benefit programatically from the fact that they had it in Iraq when adding it to the PG. Sure they'd have some of the details of what to add, but they'd literally have to recreate those part in PG, not just copy/paste them in.
  20. They no longer have a deck crew because they couldn't run the old version on the Stennis along side the new full deck crew on the SC. As you said, this was mentioned prior to release.
  21. The updated documentation is in the Supercarrier manual.
  22. Are those missions based off the Stennis carrier? They removed the deck crew on the Stennis (temporarily?) since the new supercarrier deck crew conflicted with the old style system on the Stennis.
  23. Pretty sure that's exactly what they said was going to happen if you used the new crew. After you park you should be able to relaunch.
  24. I can't comment on this particular file, but I'll agree with MAXsenna that Kapersky is more a problem than solution as far as AV goes. Ssssooooo many false detections that how would you ever know it was real when it gave you a real one.
  25. Short version is you don't have enough combination of memory (RAM) and pagefile: System RAM: 16293 MB, Pagefile: 2432 MB Ideally you should likely bump your RAM to 32 GB. Some of the patches over the summer pushed it past the point where 16 GB would work OK. Set your Pagefile to at least 32GB max and min as a starting point and see how you make out.
