  1. Good tip! I'll try it! Thanks!
  2. Thanks, Art. I tried that but I think when I renstalled the P-47, it just put back the bused content. I decided uninstall and reinstall all of DCS. Time consuming but I can't think of anything else. I'll report results.
  3. I went to write a mission in Mission Editor today. I opened dcs (openbeta) and there was no P-47 wallpaper (that was there yesterday). So, I looked on my Module Controller and, yup, P-47 was an installed module. Looked good. But I disabled and then enabled it again. And restarted my computer. Back to DCS... Mission editor allowed me to place a P-47D-30 and D-40 but didn't allow me to select "player" for either. I could select "client" and start as "client" but only with externals view. And, when I called up my mission list, it didn't show P-47 as an option even though it always has before. I go through the Mission Editor, it shows me the P-47 mission I should have and I can select them but I can't fly them. I couldn't get into the cockpit. I did a Repair. No change. I opened a P-47D-40 mission that I posted juist yesterday and was told I need a P-47D-40 module to run it? It ran fine yesterday with the P-47D-40 module I used to build the mission. So, I have P-47 but no wallpaper, cant set any model P-47 for Player. And can't fly from inside the airplane. Other than that, how did you like the play, Mr. Lincoln? Is there a way I can remove (not disable) the module and install a new one? Any help will be greatly appreciated. HotTom (formerly known at tttiger)
  4. Ditto. I own it but I refuse to use it until it is optimized. Horrible frame rates and stutters.
  5. Turn on the lights. Works for me....Next case?
  6. The radar was not available until the P-47N series in the Spring of 1945. And then only in the Pacific. But, technically, we have the wrong gunsight on our Jugs. On the P-47, the K-14 also first appeared on the N series, again only in the Pacific. http://www.historyofwar.org/articles/weapons_P-47N.html
  7. You have a really good eye!
  8. Flappie, Thanks for responding. I uninstalled the whole thing, reinstalled and it worked. Seemed like a lot of work to replace one file but I'm back in the air. Thanks again!
  9. Downloading Channel Map to Open Beta. I've tried this four or five times over several days. Every time I try I get an error message that reads RAF Airfield objects are corrupted and unreadable. Something ain't right here....Any ideas?
  10. I'm very pleased with the P-47D and fly it a great deal in Single Player. It was the WWII A-10. I totally agree with Rudel, MP is a PITA to me. I flew MP for many years in other sims and finally got bored with crop dusting at low levels to no purpose. I would fly it more but until Reflected or Bunyap or someone else comes up with campaigns for it, the selection of missions is pretty limited. C'mon, Greg (Reflected) I need some of your great missions....9th Air Force, of course.... It's still new, give it some time....ED says they are working on a new dynamic campaign format. Oh, and Hueyman, Syria? Did P-47s ever fly in Syria? We can use it in the Pacific map. But, Syria????
  11. No. I gave up and deleted it all. Too much aggravation.
  12. Yes. Several times. The only problem I can see is that my USERS file is in my C Drive and DCS is in F. Should that be okay?
  13. Here is what it says in that FDOS window: f:\DCS World\bin\luaaexe:cannot open..\..\..\ScriptsMod.28.5.01\Debried_master.lua:No such file or directory. First, the version is wrong (says .0O have.01). Second, and more important: This is all getting waaaay to geeky for me. So, how to I uninstall this sucker?
  14. Okay, so how do I accept the results? Do I type something in that box? Sri to sound so dense but it really has me stymied. Need "Money see, Monkey do" directions. Thanks!
  15. Yes. Do I need to enter something there? HT
  16. I seem to be eternally stuck on the First Mission (P-47D, Stable). No matter how many times I fly it, I never move forward to another mission. What am I doing wrong?
  17. Fuel Pump. Keystroke is 0 (zero).
  18. Thanks, Rudel. I can live without the theme music but it used to work just fine....strange....
  19. Yup. And I added folders for sound and editor music and the .ogg file I wanted. Still got the default. If I could figure out where the default music is stored, I can delete and replace. That's how I used to do it but the folders have been rearranged in the update. Anyone know where the musicloop.ogg default is?
  20. hanks, Rudel. Tried that. Still getting default music.
  21. The Sounds /Editor Music subfolder is no longer in the Mods/aircaft folder since the update. I used it to replace the default music for the menu with something more to my liking. Now it seems to have disappeared. Or was it just moved?
  22. Yup, Still comes up "default" in the stable version, but works a charm! Many Thanks! S! HT
  23. Great video! Thanks!
  24. Yup. When I fly ground attack (interdiction, actually) missions in the Spit, I hunt for trucks, not tanks.
  25. From "The Online Tank Museum": "All bark, no bite In August 1944, the RAF claimed to have destroyed 135 tanks in the Goodwood area (Battle for Caen). In order to analyze the weapons and tactics employed and to evaluate the damage that was done on given targets, a small team of researchers was usually dispatched to the corresponding battleground, a common practice in most armies of that time. The British “Office of Research and Analysis” conclusion was eye-opening and contradicted the RAF pilots’ over enthusiastic display: Of the 300 examined vehicles, only 10 were actually hit and damaged by the Typhoon’s RP-3 rockets. Mortain is another candidate of such over-claiming, between the 7th and 10th August, the 2nd Tactical Air Force of the 9th USAAF claimed to have destroyed 120-140 tanks, yet of the 46 Axis tanks lost, only 9 of them could be attributed to aircraft. In fact, in the entire Normandy campaign, the Germans lost no more than 100 tanks to Allied sorties. 13 Tiger tanks were affected, however seven of them lost to massive high altitude bombing on the 18th of July and only 6 of the German heavy tanks could be attributed to the low altitude air raids of the Allied pilots. Another noteworthy case would be Falaise: The tactical and operational conditions in the pocket constrained the German units to “forced march” during daytime. This, along with optimal weather conditions, amplified the RAF’s and USAAF’s chances of success, which resulted merely in a minimal increase of destroyed tanks. In retrospect, traversing open fields did not necessarily result in a high tank loss ratio. Ironically, low altitude attacks could become very dangerous for the attacking aircraft, especially if the strafed tank formations were protected by a serious amount of Flak/AA guns. The 2nd Tactical Air Force lost 829 aircraft and the 9th Fleet lost 897 throughout the whole Normandy campaign, the majority of the casualties being close support fighter-bombers." Sri to pee on your Cheerios and not withstanding the end of "Saving Private Ryan" in which a Mustang blows up a Tiger tank with a bomb, but tank busting by aerial bombing was ineffective.
