  1. Guys, just fix the springs as suggested earlier in this thread. The big discovery here is that the problem landing the Spit isn't the rudder and it isn't the brakes. The springs are way too stiff and now we have a way to correct that problem. Keep your eyes on the prize!
  2. There was no VIII Air Force. There was an 8th Air Force. There was no IX Air Force. There was a 9th Air Force. There were 16 numbered Air Forces in WWII, NONE used roman numerals. I think you are mixing it up with the 8th Air Force's subordinate headquarters, VIII Bomber Command and VIII Fighter command and IX Bomber Command and IX Fighter Command. They DID use Roman Numerals. Keep it real, pard!
  3. W0W! Just WOW! So, it wasn't the goofy rudder, it was the goofy springs in the landing gear. What a HUGE improvement! Thank you, mkiii!!!! THIS SHOULD BE A STICKY!
  4. Ha! That's the next mod -- ground crew picking pieces! Gawkers hanging around with hands in pockets. :-)
  5. The premise (Russian Mafiosi) is too silly to even consider this campaign.
  6. Squadron Leader Canfield: The engine's overheating and so am I. Either we stand down or blow up. Now which do you want?
  7. Thanks! Followed your instructions but I still was looking at modern vehicles. This is a very clunky procedure. Needs to be simplified quickly. Thank you for your response.
  8. WWII Assets pack purchased, installed...but (there it is!) when I try to fly a Create Fast Mission, all I get are modern aircraft and vehicles. Spitfire, P51, Normandy or Nevada, same thing. Is there some magic button I need to push to get WWII Assets instead of modern? Thanks for any help.
  9. Indeed The Bible!
  10. If it makes you feel any better, keep in mind that the ZU-23 and its even nastier brother the ZSU-23 were developed in the 1950s and fielded in the 1960s. Nothing historically accurate about facing them in a P-51.
  11. 250 yards convergence is what I have read in every source I checked...amd it is mentioned here:
  12. If you have a Force Feedback stick (I have a G940 that still mostly works) you shouldn't need or use curves.
  13. Yes, the mirror is a frame rate killer. Usual (whatever that means) RAF convergence was 250 yards.
  14. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
  15. Excellent! Thank you!
  16. I have a 940 and no problems. Make sure you don't have a conflict. I have used the analog settings in the profile only.

    Wonderful sound! Thank you!!
  18. Get yourself a stick with force feedback. You will get ample warning of an approaching stall and you won't need to fool with curves.
  19. Very cool! Now I can try flying this bird. It's been on my hard drive a long time. Thank you!!!
  20. Having a force feedback stick is a huge (or Yuge as Bernie would say) plus. I know. No one makes them these days but the Microsoft Sidewinder is still available on ebay and at Amazon. With the P-51 it starts shaking as you approach stall. Plenty of warning. My Logitech G940 is still running fine and I wouldn't fly a prop fighter without it.
  21. Pilot Skin Hiya Greg! Try this: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/510504/
  22. Thanks for the update. Take all the time needed to get it right!
