Well I dont think 2 hours is ridiculous.....In ultra hardcore mode! I think in RL our hero would be very lucky to get rescued in 2 hours. Might easily be a couple of days. In ultra hardcore mode you could have to starve yourself and hide under a bush in the garden whilst waiting for the cavalry! Well now I really am being ridiculous. Anyway walking about sounds like an enhancement, not so sure about "not being allowed back in" but I guess you choose your own level for your own MP experience. Happy landings!

For dumb bombs, to my mind the CCIP is easier and more accurate, you can see the bomb pipper tracking towards the target and get an idea for whats going on. For CCRP you have to fly just as accurately, probably more so as you are level at an altitude not actually getting closer to the target. Also I find it quite easy to get the two vertical lines confused and start turning the wrong way. I should think the aircraft is easier to defend in a dive than flying straight and level as well, and better view of ground threats. In summary I much prefer CCIP!

Did you ACKnowledge the new tasking (bottom right button I think). Are you looking in the right part of the map. Whoops yes it is WILCO not ACK, stupid memory! thanks Jona!

Curiosity got the better to me so went into the manual to find all the tehnical graphs for flight planning. Cant see them. Are they not supplied?

Really sounds like one of your brake pedals is not working for some reason. Check axis assignments? Try using key "w" instead. Does it slow down straight then?

Aye that would be good, mind if I ever get online and when I do get shotdown I dont fancy siting around for two hours waiting for the SAR to come in! Maybe ejected pilot should have option of becoming computer controlled so the real pilot can get back in the cockpit without spoiling the immersion for others.

I nearly always open the canopy for taxxing. Never read the manual. Dont care. Love the sound of the canopy opening and closing and the corrseponding increase / decrease in noise. I think ED did a really outstanding job with this, you can almost smell the jet fuel at the same time as opening it. REALLy adds to the immersion. Well done ED!

Sounds good. And then, if said ejectee could get on the Black shark wing for a free ride home. Not as far fetched as it sounds, Apaches have transported people like this in Afghanistan. Or ejectee can be a target for the other force. Or rescued by the JTAC unit.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82631 Can anyone confirm that I should do this, I think its relevent to this thread.

I can only think of FSX. Back in IL2 days, there was the option to put on active autopilot, accelerate time up to 10x or whatever so that would get you to the good bit pretty quick. I think you can do that in ROF as well

I changed my weather for dynamic and the ILS still worked so scratch that idea.

All very good points!

Oh and the only time I have run out of fuel, is because the airfield I diverted to on the TAD did not exist in the sim world! But thats another topic thats already been done to death.

Eddie, do you think landing with 3000lbs is cutting it fine? surely you could fly half way across the map with that. I mean we are not talking commercial aviation here. For example I read the book about the USMC Harrier pilot in Afghanistan, and the UK Apache guys, these people are sometimes landing with mere minutes to spare. Obviously they are keeping a very careful eye on their fuel situation but they were cutting it to the last minute to save bods on the ground, same as I do in A10C world. Not because Im being a hero (modest eh?), but becuase that is prime time fun. Tense! I think people running out of fuel in MP are most probably drunk, off to the toilet, lost interest or lost the fuel gauge. Or just lost. Ah well each to his own. Keeping my cynical pants on for now!

Unless your flying across the Atlantic, is any of this really necassary? You can spit from one AB to the next in our current map, and the endurance of the A10 is measured in several hours. Not to mention all the tankers chugging around. Unless your just flying around looking at the view its quite likely you will need to load up something explosive and pointy before you run out of fuel... Sorry must have my cynical underpants on today! calculate away to your hearts content!

New item for wishlist: Virtual Crayon / marker, so you can draw / write on the canopy.

Without wanting to tread on the toes of the experts here, Im not sure that the P factor does not affect ducted fans as well. (I am definately not an expert!) But I was thinking the A-10 engine looks like a relatively high bypass engine, (ie trending towards ducted fan end of the scale as compared to turbojet) and a ducted fan is basically a propellor in a tube, so the propeller physics should still apply. I cant imagine it is the main cause of the effect of the critical engine in this case though for the more obvious reasons already stated by people who know considerablly more about the A10 than I do!

Hi Alexrey I watched your track and couldnt see anything you were doing wrong. I then replayed it but took control straight away and flew approaches at both ends. Same result. No ILS. I then made my own mission at the same airbase, starting from cold. As soon as I turned on the ILS it was apparent that it was working. I went up, flew an ILS and everything seemed normal. Looks like there was something wrong with your mission. Did I sense dynamic weather? I wonder if something like that could affect it. I made my mission with standard weather. Attached mission and track for you to try. Early Morning.miz ILS Test.trk

Only problem is the Tracks dont always play back the same. Eastenders. Yes unfortunately. Although it gives me a small chance to fly the sim every night so thats good I suppose.

And besides Im scared of flying a fighter in DCS after watching some AI F5s chew up some AI MiG29s. ....In a dogfight....

Yeah it freaks me out landing on a carrier without a wake. Strange eh?

Anyone use a screen projector?
bluepilot76 replied to BIGNEWY's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have seen them used in some of the big homebuilt cockpits that people make for 737 in FSX so you could try asking over on Avsim. I always thought it would be a good idea but apparently its very expensive for a good bright projector, meanwhile flatscreens are getting bigger and cheaper and with smaller bezels. -
You picked a 3 figure number on your 666th post Thats kind of spooky!

What about up north, Finmark, Spitzbergen, Murmansk etc. Thats where they are gearing up for the next war. Think of all the great threads we can have about polar navigation. Dodgy GPS signals. Iceberg / aircraft carrier collisions, northern lights....
