I took your New Mission from earlier and worked on the zone detection. Got engrossed and tweaked it up a bit for you. Watch it from the editor in Fly mode and see what happens. Happy editing!

v1.5.6 Getting a dialog box popup when opening a mission that I downloaded from another source - Warning Need modules for load mission: But no modules are listed and I click OK and the mission loads. This warning doesn't come up when I open my missions. Any ideas why this warning appears? More -- Upon Save Mission another dialog box pops up -- Warning The module containing: Ka-50 is required. I do not own the Black Shark. There are two AI Ka-50's in the mission - one Red & Blue. Both acts as expected. Even more -- This warning pops up with a v2 mission that I downloaded from the same source. Ahh, the warning stopped after I Saved the mission.

Put test text messages in your actions so you have feedback that an event triggers. For your testing, put in the AI aircraft and Fly the mission from the Editor; watch what they do and go back to the editor and fix one thing at a time until everything works, everytime. When you are ready to fly it, make a clone of the a/c you want to fly and change its Skill to Client (for eventual multiplayer) and use that to test your flight. You can clone your initial a/c, too, and switch the types around on the clone, all while leaving your core pieces in place. Turn off a/c by setting it to Late Start. I was getting the idea that you were switching a/c to Player/Client before the AI was tested. Use LCntrl-Z and LShft-Z to accelerate time. You can see overall movement in F10 but you won't see the text messages in that view; which is why I put a course change waypoint at the edge of a zone - so I can see when the a/c gets there in F10 View. You don't need a module in order to put an aircraft into a mission - I do this all the time. You must have the module installed to fly the aircraft. But I am getting this Warning with your mission when I open it in DCS v1.5.6: "Need modules for load mission: ". I'll take a look at your Nevada mission.

Oh, no, you don't need a WAY POINT in the zone, but you need a flight path into or through the zone. So set waypoints that will take your ac into and or through it. Use Orbits for the Blue guys to keep them going.
-
There are Advanced Way point Actions and Triggered Actions. You want Triggered Actions that are AI Task Push on the condition of zone entry. For your second event, remove the condition of the Blue in the zone.
-
You can also put a test vehicle like a jeep or a truck at the edge of the zone where an aircraft is going to enter it, so you know where the zone is in relation to the flight path. I like to put a waypoint right on that edge with a change of direction for the a/c - when the a/c makes the turn I know it has reached the zone.
-
In your mission, the Blue helicopters don't have paths that take them into the zone. Your second event isn't going to trigger because of this, i.e. Blue Fast Fred doesn't fly to the zone, and that is where your Actions are to attack the Red helicopter. Your Blue Ka-50 has both a Waypoint 0 Advanced Waypoint Action and a Triggered Action that are doing the same thing - which one do you really want? In your event Actions, try Task Push instead of Task Set. For troubleshooting, add to your messages, like "Red Ka-50 entered Zone 01".

Six? :-) sometimes the complicated stuff goes right the first time, when the seemingly simple ones take forever. Wolf, there is a Mission Builders sub-forum down below, in the Missions queue. Good luck with your editing and check my site for some resources.

need recomendations for co-op campaigns. (thanks!)
Wrecking Crew replied to hannibal's topic in User Created Missions General
You are welcome to try any of the missions on my site - some already do have the a/c you want, and you are free to modify the missions to add them in. -
NAVEX Nevada Blue COOP: F-15C, M-2000C F10 All, Labels Optional, 1430 23OCT11, 3 Hour Timeout NAVEX Nevada 20N2a.miz is submitted. The mission offers a nice navigational exercise flight over central Nevada - with the capability for you to trigger enemy fighters. Designed for single player with a wingman, you navigate the waypoints and explore the range for your entertainment. You have the option to take on pairs of enemy fighters that you choose to engage. Lots of AI planes are in the mission -- don't shoot the civilian aircraft! Exploring.. The mission is designed for a single player; choose an F-15C or M-2000C. Up to four players for each aircraft can fly in multiplayer mode. Enjoy! And from the mission designers point of view, NAVEX Nevada uses the WC's Flags scheme for group and unit names and event flags. The mission uses regular event tools from the editor with some scripting. The 5-digit flags are tied to platforms or zones; you can read a flag and know what it represents. Please, take a few minutes to look at the mission structure in the editor. And feel free to edit and host it. All skill levels are invited to try this mission. Fly under the bridge, of course :pilotfly:

You have a Warthog and an A-10C. Yes, that makes you crazy. Go through the flight manual so you know where all the topics are; check out the tables starting on Page 86 for the TMS, DMS, Coolie Hat & China Hat. Sit through a You Tube startup video. take a few flights without weapons so you can get a feel for the jet - it is a hog when weighed down. I've flown the DCS A-10C going on 8 years now and still enjoy the heck out of it. Pretty soon you will be landing it like spreading butter on toast.

An MP mission can certainly be an SP mission. I've made many missions that are examples of the various scenarios listed above. The more complex missions are archived, because IMHO people have more fun with "here is the objective; here are the threats" kind of missions that can be played within 2-3 hours. Random AI placement/activation helps to keep things interesting.

Is there a functional difference between Skill = Player and Skill = Client?

Requirements for A-10C vs. ground unit coop?
Wrecking Crew replied to dporter22's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You don't need a Skill = Client to be able to control a platform with a Combined Arms slot. Post the mission and I will take a look, or post some images. You should be able to add in a CA role to the mission, and then be able to control units with a Player or Client who has the CA module. -
Mission Editor question: Can someone please define "Flags'?
Wrecking Crew replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
The Is User Flag is looking for a True/False return. You can certainly increment flag values and test for the values in subsequent events, or use separate flags for just a True/False determination. It is totally up to you. From the WC's Flags.txt -- with this you can test for a value other than 1. 1 is True; 0 is False. === The 'Is User' flags are limited to less than five digits. This script can be used for five digit flags within Advanced Waypoint Actions: --- Stop Condition when a flag is true if trigger.misc.getUserFlag(58104) == 1 then return true end === -
Mission Editor question: Can someone please define "Flags'?
Wrecking Crew replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Bahger, please take some time to look at the Mission Editor Resources page on my site, see the WC's Flags document. The first question I asked here was "How do flags work?" ---edit ooops that's an old post -
I've flown the DCS A-10C since 2009 and have never spent any time on HARS.

Requirements for A-10C vs. ground unit coop?
Wrecking Crew replied to dporter22's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
When you add a Combined Arms slot, it will be displayed on the Client computer with CA installed; the Combined Arms role is not tied to a platform (a/c, vehicle, ship, helicopter). For H2H try using the Tactical Commander (TC) instead of the Game Master (GM). The GM can control platforms on both sides while the TC is either Red or Blue. The CA slots may also be displayed on the other computers - earlier versions they would not be displayed if that computer did not have the CA module installed. A GM or TC can control an armor group from F10. Some trucks and engineering vehicles can't be controlled, infantry can't be right now I think. A JTAC slot can only fight the vehicle chosen - no group control at the F-10 level, but there is the Green Arrow & Left Mouse that will bring up the rest of the group to the JTAC vehicle's position. There are key commands for radar and lock, so brush up on those. Many a/c cannot be flown by a Client - maybe that's why you aren't seeing the Client choice. -
Post the mission so we can try it.

DCS v2.0 Civilian HUEY Needs Civ Pilots - currently has military pilots.

Is it realy effective ?
Wrecking Crew replied to jef32's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
UUhhh, I missed the guy bailing out! Man that was impressive - and it was all stock to me. I am making my first v2 Nevada mission for the contest, called NAVEX -- v2 has all the tools and some new AI flight controls. I'll go watch that again! -
Who is judging, and how are the top three missions determined - what does 'gameplay' mean? I am making a new mission for this contest - and plan to post it in the forums when it is ready to play/test.

I use the Action -> Load Mission, with a variety of Conditions, including Time More() for a timeout and restart. You do need to select the mission to Load. On occasion my server will get a DCS Stopped Working message - maybe once every two weeks, and it is constantly running. I'd like to take a look at this restart script mentioned above.

I just saw the new Dell UltraSharp line - google it. Hope that helps. I was looking at the 25" And Above. I've used Dell for many years and they have my recommendation for monitors. I'm using a Samsung TV JS9000 now.

An ssd is not a disc. SORRY I had to say that - I used to work for Seagate :-) --- There's not any danger in trying it. If it doesn't work it is easy to re-install. If you are migrating from a HDD to an SSD then that should work.
