Recently I have become increasingly busy with RL commitments including a 4 month old daughter, increased responsibilty at work and persuing a graduate degree. Unfortunatley I can no longer dedicate the time needed to moderate or run LOCERF. The good thing is, I leave behind an excellent moderating staff with 3Sqn_Fudd, S77th-GOYA and JaBoG32_Laud and they have the continued support of the 159th and many other squadrons out there! I know that they will continue the fine tradition of organizing the finest community event out there! I appreciate the support from the community and I had an incredible amount of fun working with so many of you. LOCERF 07-1 and 07-2 were an amazing thing to organize and watch but I didnt realize how much fun it was until I flew in it with 07-3. The reason it was so much fun is becasue of how serious everyone was about being invloved and making it enjoyable for all. I will miss moderating, but my hope is that you will still see me around from time to time flying or helping as time permits. S! 159th_Fudd

It is an exception to the rule, but I've been on an LHD when they have armed AH-1's with Aim-9's for ship defence going through the Straits of Hormuz. (AV-8B's were not on the deployment due to grounding)

This tactic was actually used in LOCERF 07-3. A few Su-25t's had to hit bridges and buildings in the early morning hours. I flew over the target site and dropped the candle bombs. Several others ran in behind me and hit the targets with Kh-29s and Kh-25ML's. I've got the track if you would like to see it.

Just to give you an idea, both the 159th and 3Sqn Servers are from Zanadoo. There is no bandwith restriction other than the connection it is on (100mbit) and we dont pay a whole lot. I apologize for posting in English, but to answer Wildcat's question: Kh-58's are not allowed just for this mission. There are aspects to the mission that make it more interesting without it. That’s all the information I can give you. R-77's on the outer pylons have been allowed in LOCERF due to the long flight distances. If you measure the flight from Guadata to the FEBA it is approximately 350km. For those Pilots that wish to carry wing tanks it still allows for the Mig to be a formidable fighter. As for the ET/launch override issue, it would be impossible for the moderating staff to control or determine whether or not you used launch override to fire the missile. It is our contention that with the large amount of friendly aircraft in theater, you will not want to maddog or launch override missiles. As you know, a maddoged missile has a higher chance of friendly fire (team killing). Friendly fire is heavily penalized by -100 points per incident regardless of whether it is an aircraft or ground unit. S! 159th_Fudd

I've read through this thread and I am extrememly happy at all the interest in LOCERF 2 dragony: Sorry for the delay in response I have been really busy with real life. 2 all: I will accomodate all 20 pilots. The only caveat is that you may have to be flexible on the airframe that you recieve. So far you have only requested 4 Su-25t's and the mission will require more. Once I recieve all requests on Saturday, I will have a better idea of the airframes available and I will give you more information. It will be up to dragony to decide who gets what aircraft. I will post mission specific breifings along with general rules this weekend on 159th forums. I will require your flight leads to register at www.the159th.com/forum in order to read those briefings. I will leave it up to them to translate them but make sure that the translations are posted on a private forum so that BlueFor (opposition) does not see them. P.S. The sad thing is the ones that sit around and cry about how things suck so much, don't have the balls to do anything about it. Meaning... that you'll see these same people buying Black Shark when it comes out. ED isnt stupid, they know what serves the majority, the rest is just bull$hit. We had over 80 requests to fly in this Red Flag. This mission will be the largest community event yet. Unfotunatly due to server performance, and mission balancing requirements, not all of you got exactly what you requested. I along with the moderating staff apologize for this. What you can do is alternate pilots within your squad. So for example one pilot would fly a sortie and then return to base. Once that pilot returns to base he then taxis to a parking area and shuts down. He then requests permission from a moderator to leave the game and swap pilots. Once permission is given then the other pilot joins and flies a sortie.
