6. From here on out we will have one thread per mission, and it will be a sticky until after the mission has been completed. This thread will be titled "LOCERF (mission #) General Information and Briefings" and will include information from both myself and the moderators (3Sqn_Fudd, MrWolf-Loskins, S77th-Goya and JaBoG32 Laud). PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THE GENERAL INFORMATION THREAD UNLESS YOU ARE A MODERATOR. This will ensure continued ease of access to all the information for LOCERF. I will have a second thread here at http://www.the159th.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2400 where you can post your suggestions for the next LOCERF. It will be titled "LOCERF (mission #) Suggestions and Discussion." Please post your questions etc on that thread. The 159th forums found here: http://www.the159th.com/forum will be the offical spot for all planning etc. LOCERF 07-5 DATES: The next misison will commence at 0500 zulu on 27 October 2007. If you are interested in participating in the next RedFlag please PM me no later than 8 October 2007 at 1200 zulu. You must include in your post: Number of Slots Requested The type of aircraft you request (for example 159th requests 4 Su-25t's and 4 Su-33's) If you do not PM me with this information then you will not be considered for the next mission. All Lonewolf Pilots: Please PM with the same information. You will be required to pass a checkride in order to participate in the mission. The number of pilots that wil participate in this mission will depend on what server we use and how many people apply IF YOU REQUEST A SLOT IN REDFLAG YOU MUST BE ABLE TO FILL IT!!!!!! I look forward to this next exercise! S! 159th_Fudd

12. Happy Birthday Konny and Graywo1f!!!! You guys are great memembers of the community, S!
13. Hey Kris, Yes, we still need to use your server. Our machine is not near as nice as the one you guys have. If you could pass it up the chain, please let the rest of the Virtual Thunderbirds know that we appreciate it!! I would welcome any ideas you have about increasing performance. Please PM me when you get a chance! S!
14. Its still up, It was pulled down yesterday for maintenance.
15. I want this one
16. Nice Model, thx for the movie. Caveat: There are not too many instances where a Harrier would take a strictly vertical take off with a heavy load. Holds true for both carrier and airfield deployment. It gets rolling first and then transitions.
17. It depends on so many different factors. How many ground units What type of ground units The density of units in a single area. The upload and download speeds of the client The upload and download speeds of the server Those are just a few. In LOCERF 07-2 and 07-3 we used an E6400 machine with bandwith speeds exceeding 50mb/sec. There was a bit of lag on the ground but overall stability was excellent. In mission 07-2 we had ~55 clients and 07-3 ~45 clients. In this case both processor speeds and bandwith contribute to the stability of the server. Its possible to host high numbers you just need to take all factors in to account.
18. The 159th now has a dedicated server up on Hyperlobby. The server is in the testing phase and will be running previous Red Flag missions for the next two weeks. These missions are difficult and designed to foster team work and planning. Don't expect that a single Su-25t will be able to just get in and pwn all the air defences. After the two week testing phase we will set up Lomac dedi software and run missions designed at practicing for Red Flags. The missions will contain detailed briefings, will be structured to focus on teamwork/ conserving resources and foster skill sets needed for future missions. Any comments and or suggestions can be posted in this thread or posted here: www.the159th.com/forum Hope you all enjoy!

22. This looks like a great event and I salute the 169th in their endeavor. We need more community building events like this. I don't think I will personally be able to participate in this first mission due to in-laws in town, but definitely look for me in subsequent ones. S! EDIT: BTW, if something changes and I am able to fly this Saturday, I'll be looking for a fueled and ready Su-27 on Blue
23. This was also a test to see if using inclement weather in LOCERF missions would be feasible. We are continually testing ideas to make the Red Flag experience better. Thank you to 3sqn for allowing us to use their server!
24. It is 1400 zulu on 15 September. Info here: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=24748
