  1. If you're the type of user who tinkers with your HOTAS profiles to get all your switches and toggles functional, this thread details the changes that 1.2.8 made to the control format, as well as a mod that allows you to remap your controls using the new format.
  2. Oddly enough, mine just started working spontaneously. I couldn't connect an hour ago, then I tried resetting all of my settings but still couldn't connect. Now I tried again and I'm in. Huh. Firewall is still on.
  3. Hey Folks, I'm also having issues connecting to master. The only firewall I'm running is Windows Firewall. Disabling this does not fix the problem. I've tried deleting my network.cfg and network.vault files. I have no mods installed. What should I try next?
  4. I'm looking at the table on page 140 (aka 6-66) and I see decimals listed as the 6th digit, at least in flight mode. Am I misreading this?
  5. A couple of strategies can be effective if you want an asymmetric loadout: Load your S-8KOM or OFP rockets on the left-hand pylon, then TsM rockets on the right-hand pylon. You can expend your attack munitions first, then switch the selector and do marking work with the TsMs. This also eliminates the double-smoke rocket that you normally get with 2 pods of TsMs loaded. Load a fuel tank on one side and rockets on the other. I often do this when I'm marking targets. Just be sure to open your crossfeed valve to minimize the fore-aft asymmetry inherent with feeding one of the tanks out of an external.
  6. Okay, here's what I've found: If you look here, you'll find that Nvidia's audio driver can fight with realtek audio drivers. Many of us have realtek audio on our mobos that we're using. The solution? Disable all of the Nvidia audio devices in your device manager and update your realtek drivers. That solved a huge portion of my problems with SLI. Second, if you use Nvidia inspector, open up the "Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark" profile and change the compatibility bits to: 0x04400005 (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, Rise of Flight, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl) These two tips got SLI working for me. It's still not enough for me to comfortably run HDR with AA on (here's hoping that the new graphics engine will help here), but it's a big gain over a single card at least. I hope this helps.
  7. Already did, and tried several of the fixes. Some people have had luck switching to a different compatibility setting, but there are a ton of those and it'll take days to go through all of them =(
  8. Hey Folks, I just got my second 570 2.5GB. I couldn't find one major SLI thread, but I found a few tips here and there. Currently, I'm using Nvidia Inspector 1.9.7.2. If I use AFR2, I get awesome FPS with that awful cloud flickering. Any other setting kills my FPS. Is there a fix for the cloud flickering? Or is there another method that people are using now that wasn't in one of those older threads? Thanks much =)
  9. Fun story: I once flew the courier mission but forgot to turn on the external fuel pumps. I lost my engines just as I was landing by the truck =)
  10. No mods, no changes from last time I connected, but I can't get it to work. Any thoughts?
  11. This is awesome and enlightening. I don't ever leave the weapons system power off, even when I'm not carrying weapons, but now I have one more tip to add to the troubleshooting repertoire =)
  12. Is it ~12GB of stuff that it has to download? edit: You are brilliant and helpful genius, friend! Much thanks!
  13. I don't see this option. It says "Downloading update..." and is going at ~0.5MB/s, which isn't fast enough to be copying from a RAID 10 to the same RAID 10, right?
  14. I get roughly 494x640. Since I use Cougar MFDs which correlate to ~400x400, I have my ABRIS set to 309x400.
  15. Page 174 (6-100) in the BS2 flight manual details the R-800 (aka VHF2) radio. You and your flightmates have to be on the same frequency. Page 153 (6-79) details the radio and data link power control panel. In general, these should all be turned on. Specifically, the 3rd and 4th (i.e. the middle 2) switches should be turned to use the datalink. Page 134 (6-60) details the PVI-800 and associated switches. On the bottom, the right-hand switch (#24 in the picture) is the off-board targeting data link power switch. It needs to be on. Finally, page 141 (6-67) details the PVTz-800 off-board targeting data link mode panel. There are 2 knobs. The left-hand knob controls your number in the flight. In general, flight lead is set to 1. The right-hand knob controls the data link mode. The 1st option, Disable, disables the data link. The 2nd option, Receive mode, sets the data link to only receive information without actually broadcasting anything. You can receive target data, but you can't send any. Additionally, you can see other flight members on the ABRIS, but they can't see you. The 3rd option, Wingman mode, sets you as a flight member. You'll be able to send and receive target data, you'll be able to see your flightmates on the ABRIS, and they'll be able to see you. The 4th option is the Commander mode. The manual currently says that it allows you to send and receive info "just from the flight leader". That's not how it behaves for me. For me, it works just like the Wingman mode, only you have a 2-circle icon on the ABRIS instead of a 1-circle icon. I'd appreciate if anyone has any further insight on this. If you want to have a flight with >4 members, the extras can be on the same frequency and set to receive only. Otherwise, they can push to a different frequency on the R-800 and form their own flight.
  16. Gave up after bouncing between stage 1 and 2 repeatedly. It's hard enough the Shark; it's just frustrating in the Toad.
  17. Except that the Hip has a) microswitches on the pedals that interrupt the heading channel and b) awesome trim dials that let you pretend you're a fixed-wing!
  18. Lemme know if you have any more questions about it. I've spent a fair bit of time configuring the TM Warthog for different DCS aircraft =)
  19. Alternatively, download freetrack for free, buy $6 of IR LEDs, and solder them to a baseball cap. Mine has served me well for years =)
  20. Okay, pardon my ignorance, but please tell me if my understanding is correct: In 1.2.6, the EOS is gyro-stabilized, so it looks up or down to stay in-line with the horizon. The pilot has no control over that. In 1.2.7, the gyro stabilization is completely removed, so the EOS will point basically wherever the nose is pointing. Is this correct?
  21. docfu: Yup, that's where we're at right now. On the upside, you can map other 2-position switches (e.g. canopy open/close, cut off burst switch, autopilot modes, etc.) to your throttle. You can also get the flap switch to work correctly. CaptainPecan: I just use the controls menu. If I want to know the name of a command, I'll map it to a button, then open up my joystick lua file and search for that button. As far as the brakes go, I haven't found a way to map an axis to a button in FC3, but joytokey works really well for turning those toebrakes into a W keypress. GlovePIE/ppjoy is also an option if you want to map them to a DX buttonpress. Of note, my favorite fix that this press/release thing allows is making the 3-way flap switch actually function like a 3-way flap switch. Map the "UP" position to down = flaps up and up = flaps toggle, then map the "DN" position to down = flaps landing and up = flaps toggle. Voila! You now have a real flap switch again!
  22. You can get things to work with 2-position switches. You simply have to add an "up = " statement. For example, change to In this example, this makes both of the airbrake switches (fore and aft) activate the airbrakes as long as they are held down, then deactivate them when they're released. Since the fore position is held in place automatically, this is a nice way of having temporary and fixed airbrakes. Note that, while there are the two commands for airbrakes (iCommandPlaneAirBrakeOn and iCommandPlaneAirBrakeOff), there are not multiple commands for the exterior lights or the gear lights. It sucks. tl;dr no you can't do that with exterior lights, but you should be able to do it with cockpit gauge lights and other 2-position switches.
  23. I have rarely had only one system fail, but usually both of them go together. That being said, it feels awesome to flip the landing gear emergency switch and have functioning gear again =) I have no idea why they tend to fail together so often, but I have on occasion had only one of them go.
