  1. Viper, that was great =) My morning starts with laughter.
  2. Yes, it's jet as workable without head tracking as the old pits. That being said, invest in trackir or freetrack. It's worth every penny and more when you're in the air! Edit: forgot to express how completely and utterly stoked I am!!!
  3. These are the reasons that I tend to avoid using Vihkrs with the Toad. They're a great missile, but I'm just not very good at dipping the nose low enough to fire while staying above MANPAD engagement zones. Add that to the fact that I get greedy and want to hit 3 targets on a single run and bam! I find myself shot down by SHORAD quite reliably. One other note: the Toad has decent fuel quantity. Be patient and don't drop down into dangerous zones just because you want to hit multiple targets, or even score a kill on every single run. You stay alive by playing it safe.
  4. +1 to this. I would love to see this plane modeled as a DCS module =)
  5. Yes, it's still quite active! It's got a few bugs that haven't been touched in the last several patches, but they aren't game-breaking, and they should be addressed in the future.
  6. Kilometers per 520kg fuel?
  7. Pardon my ignorance, but what are the units for the numbers? I've never used one of these before.
  8. Well color me embarrassed. I repaired my install, and lo and behold, it's working now! Thanks for the help =)
  9. ...Really? The 4xFAB-100s on an MER? Do I just set an interval? Is a specific quantity setting needed? I'll try repairing, but I've been unable to get the MERs working in the last couple patches.
  10. Same problem in the Su-25. Kuky (ED tester) replied that we should be able to just set the ripple interval to whatever we want, but it ain't working. Sure would love a fix.
  11. Anyone figured out how to get the MERs working? I really want to live out my tactical strike fantasies, but I'm limited to only the most impressive cluster bomb strikes.
  12. Now it's broken again. No matter what I set the interval knob to, it just releases all of the selected FAB-100s at once. It makes for a hell of a cluster bomb, but it's not too useful if I'm trying to strike a convoy that's all nice and lined up. Is there a new feature I'm not aware of?
  13. Same problem here.
  14. I've tried what I've found by searching other threads already. I have my router set up to forward 10308 (TCP & UDP) to my PC. Windows firewall has DCS added and should allow 10308 (TCP & UDP) through. When I host a mission, it does't show up in the server list. This persists when I 1) disable windows firewall 2) disable router firewall 3) activate router DMZ mode. Any help? What am I missing? Thanks =)
  15. I love this thread. Especially the Su-25 doing a low-speed pass over the road (practicing for an emergency landing?)
  16. Thanks much for the video! Question: When they start the engine, I think I'm hearing 2 separate whines, both increasing in pitch. One seems to start just before the needle jumps off the peg, and the other seems to start just after. Are they the APU increasing RPM and the engine itself? Or are they really one continuous sound and I'm just crazy?
  17. Awesome. I love finding out that a fix is simple =)
  18. I just looked at my throttle lua files and... I guess I see how it could work. Thanks much for posting it in the thread! I've been beating my head against that wall for months now! To further elaborate, clickabledata.lua allows you to specifically assign separate actions to different switch positions. And while T.A.R.G.E.T. is very flexible and powerful, it still a) creates a weird "combined" virtual controller, which forces you to map something to keyboard controls (which don't work when you alt+tab) and b) can't download a profile to the controllers like its predecessor could a decade ago. It's too slow to boot for my taste, and lacks functionality that its predecessor perfected years ago.
  19. I've had the gear lights indicate damage to individual wheels in the past. As ARM505 mentioned, it depends on where the sensor that controls the light is. I've blown my tire many a time and, in my experience, that won't trigger the light. Losing a whole strut to a stray MANPAD, OTOH, usually will. Fly with a wingman online using TARS. Then you can actually do damage assessments on each other, assuming he doesn't lose his radio when he loses his gear =)
  20. FWIW, I've got the 'emergency autopilot off' mapped to the autopilot disengage paddle on my Hog stick. I figure that, if it's important enough to include on the real HOTAS, it's worth having on my sim setup =) Edit: To clarify, instead of having to hold the trim button, fight the AP and deal with dampening, just kill the channels and get out of there. Once you've extended and/or evaded, reengage your channels and reassess.
  21. In answer to your original question, I had to switch to firefox from chrome when FC3 came out because of the same problem.
  22. FWIW, the Bank and Pitch channels are both dependent on the INU, so if you a) took INU damage or b) forgot to turn it on (I'm guilty of this), they won't work. Not sure what's happening if only one of them fails, though.
  23. As far as I can fun in that thread (and in the .lua files), you can't do that for FC3 because there's no clickabledata.lua file from which to pull the values. Am I missing a file here?
  24. Instructions are in the thread I linked. They should be straightforward, but let me know if anything is unclear =)
