  1. Thank you - nearer to home!
  2. At least you have excellent other components to allow your new card to fly when you get it
  3. Looks good! Out of interest, was that video VR?
  4. Thank you - will investigate. Probably will get charged a bomb on import duties here!
  5. Having a really hard time trying to source a G2 here in the UK ... the HP UK site is pretty useless ... anywhere else anyone could recommend?
  6. When is Cyprus released for this map? Will it be a paid update?
  7. Superb work guys on Cyprus - and also the recent updates to the Syria map including optimisations. It is now my favourite theatre of operation!
  8. Hi, I usually use RWS mode to find targets out to 80nm ... but at what distance should I be able to lock them up with HUD cues for the AIM 120C? I seem to get a target focus - with all the relevant information like aspect, height etc.... but when I try to lock them up nothing happens?
  9. This seems to deliver a 40% increase in FPS ... although it was in a mission which was not early dawn, more early morning. Flashing the BIOS helped, and was needed to get RB.
  10. I’ve just finished reading ‘Strike Eagle: the story of the F-15E in the Gulf War’ and there are numerous chapters where they make reference to the poor weather and thunderstorms and the buffeting they got within big cloud systems. It would be fantastic to see that implemented in DCS.
  11. Paul Ricard is a great track ... super fast straight too in Le Mans config.
  12. Can't speak clearly for DCS, but for the past 15 years was heavily involved in racing sims, iRacing rF2, ACC etc...In racing sims the sim racer always goes over the edge first, crashes, and works backwards. The real driver works slowly up to the limit, for obvious reasons. But the fidelity of racing simulators is clear, especially if they have a good tyre model: there is a one-to-one correlation between what inputs you put into the real race car and the inputs you put into the wheel and pedals of a simulator. That was what triple Le Mans winner Darren Turner (who also runs a pro simulator facility) told me once. Three years ago I was lucky enough to drive a real life F1 car - Kimi Raikkonen's Lotus (Renault) from 2012 - amazing experience. What sims taught me was learning the track and knowing how fast the scenery flies past you. In my very brief experience I didn't even warm the tyres up If you're interested, how I got on is in the link below:
  13. Imagine waking up to this mission briefing as a young pilot at the height of the first Gulf War. From “Strike Eagle - Flying the F-15E in the Gulf War”. Superb book. Wish we had the Iraq Theatre of Operations in DCS - would be brilliant.
  14. Sure - understand the clouds are a bit iffy in VR...
  15. Apparently ED recommend for the DB 82,83,84 to set just “nose” and efuze to “instantaneous” for most targets.
  16. Hi, After the huge success of the new clouds, I’m aware that this year we may see weather systems properly implemented into DCS. I was wondering if there was any more detail surrounding that - will we get proper “squall” type scenarios in thick heavy clouds, full buffeting etc...? Whatever is coming, I cannot wait.

    Cockpit Sounds

Sure -- understood and makes total sense.
  18. Hi - in this video at 10:23 in there is a clear sound of the engine systems after the canopy has closed ... head cam picks this up clearly. In the DCS jet, it cuts out almost completely when the canopy is closed... https://youtu.be/yeij-YX9MdY
  19. ...but still glorious!
  20. .... so many possibilities with this map area.
  21. This feels so minor almost embarrassed to mention it. But if the crewmen running could have their body parts animation sped up 20% it would look much more realistic. At the moment them running feels like they are running on the moon a bit - slow motion.

    Syria 2.7

I think maps gobble up whatever RAM they can in DCS. VRAM too!
