Hi, Is there a written beginners' guide to creating missions in the full missions editor ... it feels a faff right now trying to create a SAM unit ... is there a way to create one complete functional SA-10 unit, for example, with one click in the menu and drop onto the map? From what I've learned you seem to have to add three or four units with corresponding elections from the menu? If there was any way of making it easier - and quicker - it would be brilliant.

So for a few years have been racing sims with this amazing rig ... but since I’m back into flight sims now iRacing, rF2 and ACC have taken a huge back seat. The arrival of the TM HOTAS Warthog meant a rearrangement of the “furniture”. So back to one 40” screen - it’s great at 4K with TrackIR 5. Just need to get a new chair as this one is likely to be a bit uncomfortable! Before: To this:

Hi, I’m finding it really hard to control the aircraft in flight - particularly when loaded with bombs. Tiny inputs seem to deliver exaggerated results in a way I don’t see in the Hornet. Using trim doesn’t help a great deal - it feels it needs constant inputs for free flight. Any advice gratefully received.

Is there a significant performance increase going from 32GB RAM to 64GB - in a system with a 5900X and 3090RTX? Is it worth the upgrade?

Yes, have to admit since I have used the centre screen at 4K and turned the outer ones off it is very hard to go back.

What's the maximum resolution of his GFX card? Not sure they go up that high! I too have 3 x 4k monitors (well, TVs actually) and used to do 3 x 1920x1080 - that works great across three screens. But I have since started using only the centre one at 4K and much prefer that.

Okay - great example of a product designed in the early 2000s. Who the hell has a monitor bezel this thick? The sensor unit won’t sit on top properly. Bit rubbish really.

Hi, My next system will have one 2TB M.2 drive - rated at 4950MB/s read and 4250MBp/s Write, 680K IOPS. This one drive would contain everything, DCS and OS. Would I be better separating the storage into two separate physical M.2 drives, with the OS on a 500GB dedicated drive and then go for a 1TB main drive for installations - both at the same speed as the 2TB drive? It always was the case that the OS should be on a separate drive, but not sure now with the super high speeds of read / write.

I have found Chuck's aircraft manuals invaluable on Mudspike in finding my way around the AV8B and the Hornet - superb work. Clear, brilliantly laid out and a huge amount of work goes into each. Much appreciated.

Hi - I have an rSeat N1 for racing sims but as I am finding more of my time is in DCS I was wondering if anyone had any solutions for the different hardware positions, HOTAS etc? Currently using the keyboard tray for the chassis but this is far from ideal as it is at an angle in both in perspectives. In the picture below it swivels round a bit more infront of the seat but it remains awkward. There appears nothing suitable on the rSeat website under accessories to work with a HOTAS setup. At this rate a table and chair is a better option but that then means I lose my triple-screen setup (not 100% convinced by VR yet).

Solved the issue by assigning all monitors - using the settings on the monitors' remote - to the same type of name input, ie HDMI 1 ... they were a mixture of Game Console and HDMI X etc. They now pan "in-sync" fine.

Looks like I need to wear my contact lenses with this headset.

Empirical evidence v subjective feel. That's the problem with opinions, they vary so widely and can be so wrong.

Do you need the SteamVR based station to run this headset? Or just the headset? Which headset to go for too?
