  1. Before you return the Pimax Crystal if you can open it up and see if the panels are really using that huge space inside the shoe box that it is. I suspect the whole Crystal headset is just a joke coming from that radio shack of a brand Pimax has always be. Nobody had the guts to take one appart. Everybody kind of knows the truth but is afraid of looking at it.
  2. Lots of wrong information you can get on "internetz" these days. I have used Pico 4 firstly with my old GTX1070... Then I "upgraded" to my wife's 3060 :D. It was a tad better FPS and now I have a 4080 (with new system) and is significantly improved. I have an "old" wifi 5 (5GHz) router from my internet provider (Free... the brand is called Free, France) and works very well 99.99% times but sometimes I guess the 5GHz channel gets some interference and I can immediately sense it and if I look into VD performance stats I can see the networking latency spiking from under 10ms to 80-100ms and then I know I just need to do a quick restart of the router so it switches the channel. I also don't have any other home device on 5GHz ( )... everything is wired (PCs, printers, TV, TV Box) or on 2.4GHz (Phones, tablets). The most important thing I think is to know that if the netwoking is not keeping up the performance will be bad and it will give you the impression is the PC not being able to keep the FPS high enough or "strem fast enough" when in fact the bottleneck in the wireless connection between router and headset can mess up everything. To give you an example I can record with StreamLabs program on PC the image that the headset (pico4) is streaming BACK! to the PC after it has received it from the same PC in the first place. Meaning the game renders the image that is transferred wired to the router then wirelessly to the headset and then after displaying the image the headset streams back wirelessly the image from one eye (or both) at 1080p like a video server on the network and the PC picks it up on a webpage which is captured by the Streamlabs and recorded on the hard drive... live... while playing. Obviously it's not an optimal solution but the performance is not that bad as one might expect all things considered.
  3. I have a Pico 4 and it's awesome. Running it at 3120x3120 per eye wirelessly with Virtual Desktop. I had a Quest 2 previously and a Rift S before that. In your place with my experience probably I would buy a Quest 3. It's newer and Meta really does good lenses. And it's not really breaking the bank. There is a big bump going from Fresnel lenses to pancake.
  4. Would it be possible to have the Gazelle tablet in other planes/helicopters?
  5. Yes the boundaries are set low so we can have a Go-Pro like camera over the shoulder of the pilot. That was the most probable scenario this feature was supposed to work. A second toggle or option to inhibit this head popping in existence is needed I think to have things working for everybody. Thank you! The worst case scenario as "user base" is people flying in VR with 1st person body turned on. Of course there are people flying in 2D and have the 1st person body turned on... I was one of them. But that is still a small minority but probably bigger than the VR one. And of course there are people flying in VR without 1st person pilot body turned on.... like the majority of 2D people. The point is not to be bogged down in these semantics. People flying with 1st person pilot body on are a very small minority especially in VR and the development of features for them is occupying a background position in dev cycles. And is acceptable as reality ofc. My "bet" is that most devs don't use VR on daily basis and most probably never use 1st person pilot body. It hinders them in development or is complicating their life so when is for them to implement features for this crowd they are not well prepared and have wrong perception and experience about it. Like having the camera of the Mi24 cpg moving (thus making some people sick), Having the 1st person body twisted (like in F14 or Ah64 CPG) for historical reasoning rather than ergonomics ones for VR use etc. Also I think most people see the 1st person body more like a weird fetish than a immersion feature so this proportionality spills over to developers side also so you have actual development done in these biased conditions.
  6. Why would you waste your time commenting 10 years old obvious stuff about things you don't care? It's your fault you didn't explain you mean the auto-showing of the pilots head is the thing you want to turn off IMHO the problem exists because it was implemented without any use or alpha/beta test of its sub-function - meaning in VR. It's one of the things nagging people from VR asked and it was made half heartedly and with no care. And now because it's bugged is acknowledged as "as intended" because it is actually functioning as intended. It is a small feature connected to another more general "function" of the game that was of general interest and whoever did it has no intention to rework it to please for such small audience when for his job description the feature works. I.E. "Make sure the head of the pilot is visible in 99.999% of the cases."
  7. Thanks! I stand corrected! I have found my best so far settings by playing MT with DLAA and SSS instead of ST with MSAA 2x or MT with TAA and DLSS which give bad visual in VR.
  8. Nobody thought to mention these are work only in the MT version?... At least in VR only in MT I see them available.
  9. I have the same problem as the original poster. I don't have installed mods for planes and the scrips folder has in export.lua just two lines coming from the WinWing Orion2 Throttle: " local wwtlfs=require('lfs') dofile(wwtlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/wwt/wwtExport.lua') " I also did a clean up and repair to be sure nothing could interfere. LE I reinstalled the module and is still the same. Not sure if it was like that from the beginning because although I have it since release I didn't had the time to play with it. But my DCS World install is not that old (new PC this year) and it's pretty clean Also Petrovich interface works without issues in pilot or Gunner seat. I attached also my log . Thank you! L.E. Solved it! I have found the problem! It was between the keyboard and the chair... The interface does not show when the player has the aircrafts controls. I recently switched the "Auto hand over" option in "Special" menu in the mode the AI doesn't take over automatically and it didn't crossed my mind the George AI interface will have no reason to show if I have the controls. Maybe some "beep-beep" sound could be added to the George/Petrovich interfaces so to warn the player the command can't be executed because conditions are not met? Thanks anyway! dcs.log
  10. I don't mean to say it's a big deal but it sounds a little odd when something that works obviously not ideally is called: "as intended". It's sort of a throw to the saying: "a problem can't be solved if it's not firstly acknowledged". And the real sad thing I find in this minuscule issue is that "we" the VR+Pilot body users are such a small "market" that the devs don't really care if we need a feature and if they do it don't really care of a feedback if it works...... "as intended"? I mean... if the response from the team would have been: "Noted, we'll try to fix it when resources are available" would have been way better and hopeful. Oh well...
  11. Not sure if it was already asked but could this be made to feed back into DCS in the kneeboard? For VR uses I think it might be useful.
  12. I had MB-339 for demo installed but deactivated and got the same error. Uninstalling it solved the problem.
  13. Yes, I assumed the effect is on purpose and thought it has to be connected with visibility of the head in external view when the camera is distanced away from the "center of the neck" but the "trigger distance" its too small and its smalish dimension doesn't seem that useful for its purpose imho but it does create this inconvenient afterwards. Thanks for looking into it Bignewy and for replies.
  14. Probably this is rather known or observed but I think it should be fixed sooner or acknowledged. Currently when pilot body is enabled in 1st person view especially in VR when the view translates a little off center by means of 6DoF movements the head of the pilot/CPG re-appears and creates either a disturbing situation or simply blocks view and breaks immersion. I think the problem is caused by the existence of either a 3d invisible sphere that sets a boundary or a distance from center value of camera position that when passed over makes the head reappear. The purpose of this effect is probably to ensure the head is visible from external view but I think this distance or boundary is set to be way way to small and creates this undesirable effect. On Top of that because of how the CPG body position in relation with default camera (body to the right camera in dead center of his cockpit) this effect is more pronounced in CPG station appearing almost continuously even after joining the cockpit due to some (rather nice) animation of the CPG finding a little his place in the seat.
  15. Maybe your prescription has changed? also 0.75 is not much different from 2.0 . And if it's with + they might not do much.

    Pilot body

News? And I wish it will have two small improvements over Ah-64 one: 1. A bigger invisible mask outside of which the head of the pilot reappears. It's disturbing in Apache. 2. Perfectly straight body posture not like the CPG in Apache and Pilot in F14. Devs should be forced to use these features forever until fixed .
  17. The color choice of Beige and Yellow is difficult to distinguish. More color options would be better Also make the designation reticle change color too so it's useful when boxes are turned off.
  18. Maybe ED should create some 5 to 10 slots of "generic Planes and Helicopters" to be replaced by Community mods. Then Servers could enforce for example some of these slots with X or Z moded plane with all it needs... Integrity Check etc. If someone doesn't have the mod he/she will see just a generic airframe and the standard ED weapons etc coming at them.
  19. I am curious to know where I could find that registry setting? Is this one: Also The MT version of DCS has some bugs like setting a cockpit in English will revert it to Russian in MT? My Mi24 does that. Have you guys tested also the new setting in VD for super sampling via headsets Android system? It appears to Advanced options when High is selected in Streaming, Not available for Ultra and Godlike.
  20. It looked like in the picture. The same happens when in OvGME I press disable all. Magic!
  21. I think the factories are at a correct size and the rest of the buildings are too small and spacing between buildings looks utterly unrealistic especially since the game can't populate the spaces in-between buildings with all sorts of outhouses and dependencies. Also Cities are totally deserted and this only magnifies the bareness of them. On top of this I find the color palette of Normandie 2.0 just as the one in Normandie 1.944 (lol) to be extremely limited and incomplete. Trees and forest are made of a single nuance of green. And looks horrible in my view. I can't understand why color variation on some small textures of trees is so difficult.
  22. I am not talking about accurate. I didn't even expected to be realistic representation at ground level... although since we have tanks and what not... I am talking about flying above cities in general or well known cities in particular and have the sensation is somewhat that cities as we would expect in 2023 regardless of the fact one might or might not have played other sims. To give you an example. Lock On had better cities feel than Normadie 2.0. Sure Caucasus of today is even better but it's a quantifiable miss. Not only buildings are not at the relative correct size but they are placed usually at too much distance one from the other and in-between you have this... forest or patches of forests that look more like patches of parsley than trees. All trees have the same color ad they are simple variations of same tree if you get close enough. The land texture looks like a cartoon with some crayon noise applied to it. And generally the colors aggravate the sensation of old revamped game. I have no problem with revamping an old game and give it more life along the years but when you call it "new technology" (and is not the first time, first Normandie was new tech, Hurmuz map was another "new tech" and even the Sinai I think is called again another new tech... but everything looks the same only new million little boxes made to look like Cairo (rofl) and some new shading... when this happens it means nobody is actually aware of the problem and people at the helm are drinking Kool-Aid. DCS World looks dated badly. And calling it new tech is simply sad.
  23. Literally was my first phrase. So... Feel free to go to that forum yourself. I am not speaking about that game so I would prefer people here to focus on DCS even if comparisons are made in each ones mind.
  24. Oh, I didn't know. No Problem. Maybe menu options like OvGME had then.
