  1. OK, I've managed to find the first problem. The images are OK but my viewer (Irfan View) doesn't display the picture just the rest... tables and text. Then there are the next issues: 1. The SVG file now has to be opened with something, right? It can't be used by DCS directly as a kneeboard for example. 2. The text spills over the boxes and looks bad or even hard to understand. 3. Sometimes the names of the buttons have gibberish words/letters 4. My stick for example is set up in Virpil software differently that what the program finds as default(?) so as a result the buttons are misplaced all over the place and the program things that are 17 buttons unassigned. In the second picture you can see how messy it loks and also I can tell you that buttons are misplaced. For example the left HAT (POV) is actually used for calling the Petrovich AI interface by pressing down then the directional buttons of that HAT are not assigned for Mi-24 Pilot and are used for Petrovich interface. However when I create the AI interface file that one the buttons are correctly assigned to that HAD... still the text is completly messed up though. See picture 3.
  2. Yes I did and the profiles I tried to update I have yellow warnings and if I export them like that I get some very small svg files with unreadable text on the buttons and no pictures for the joystick or Throttle... The stick is a Virpil WarBRD and the throttle a Winwing Orion 2 F18. here is an example: f8171-RIGHT WarBRD-Mi-24p_pilot.svg
  3. I'm having a problem understanding how it is supposed to be used. Any tutorial on this?
  4. very nice looking. The last one is ingame? or just the lighting is from game engine with model viewer?
  5. For me that's how I would sum up a placebo effect.
  6. Why use VD quality streaming setting (high) and ingame pixel density (1.2)???? You don't know they control same thing or is a mojo thing? Switch to Godlike or leave it on High. And leave pixel density on 1.0. Both control supersampling and best way is to leave VD control this completely. Do you use "boost game priority - ON" in VD Streamer settings? Does AMD have something similar with nvidia low latency settings in driver? maybe you should try them On.
  7. I just quoted your message to have something to reply regarding your issues and attempts. So. 1. Your 3060 is challenging to have ~90FPS and preserve something about DCS visuals in VR. I had 3060 and now I have 4080 and I can tell you is just another mediocre but super expensive garbage. But... it does 40FPS with everything on max and Godlike resolution. Maybe a 4090 is better a little but most probably a 6060ti would be a low end but good performer in 4 years... I tell you this so you have a correct mind set all things considered. 2. Anything you test with textures resolutions set under Ultra or whatever maximum is is useless. You will test how much the taste of water changes for the rain drops when is windy. irrelevant. Once you lowered that resolution the graphics become so bad no matter what headset you have, no matter you put resolution on Potato or Godlike no matter you play VR or 2D in 4K or HD - all is gone and irrelevant! That setting is for people that couldn't care less about textures and could actually enjoy DCS World if it looked like "Beat Saber" or "Superhot". I exaggerate a little of course in order to drive my point home. But not much. 3. On (still) using XR Tools in 2024 with VDXR. Opinions can differ but... in my humble opinion is a useless software that can give true placebo results. It's like the people that go in Game and modify pixel density to 0.9 then go to Steam VR (if they use it) and set the resolution super sampling to 1.13 for DCS but 98% for general then go to Virtual Desktop and set resolution to Potato and then set upscaling AI bs to maximum from 540p to 8K then set bitrate to 2kb/s and then say: OMG I have the perfectly balanced settings I cannot believe how great I am lets make a monetized youtube video about my greatness. Utter useless rubbish. The reprojection that happens for VR is complicated enough and most of these people don't understand how it works anyway. They don't know for example that pixel density, resolution in Virtual Desktop and super sampling in SteamVR do the same thing and maybe they should use just one that is better positioned in the pipeline... Virtual Desktop being the best here. Choose one resolution there and work for it in the rest of the settings so you achieve decency with a 3060. How ever!! One thing that many fail to do is to see the extremes properly. First you need to see the extremes!!! So you know what is what. First set everything to low.... including those pesky textures. put resolution on potato Lower the bitrate if necessary in VD... Fire up a DCS simple mission - Just you and the environment nothing more... not a "moving tree!" Se you FPS, note it down.... notice the painful picture quality state but know it's to be expected. Second... Crank everything up. Everything! Ballz to the wall... Godlike too! But don't touch Pixel Density or any other resolution control other than VD Godlike. Fire up same mission... make sure you are on ground and you have some anti-vomit pills in case low FPS makes you sick . See the difference. Especially look for graphic quality. Especially standing still! That is your goal. It's max quality possible and you need to know it so you know what you sacrifice while tunning. Notes. Don't use Upscaling when doing the min-max tests. They mess up the results. After you have seen the extremes you can play with them but know they mess up the quality badly. Also Know that Anialiasing like TAA and DLAA interfere with quality. Best for now is DLAA producing best quality with acceptable loss in clarity. If you want to see this put all to max set AA to OFF and see clarity then turn AA on with different tech and notice the bluriness and nvidia bs. Good luck!
  8. We just hope it will not take five years for that . You know... Earth could be gone in that timeframe .
  9. This is a surprisingly good free mod. The super maneuverability part feels so visceral in VR. Two feedback things if I may: 1. I like that you included a pilot body even if low detail. All AAA devs should take note. We don't need a sculpted pilot model 5 years after the release but a low detail pilot model day one of release! However if possible to reduce the size of the model by say 5%? The position of the camera so you can see the HUD makes the view point somewhere at the base of the neck. Moving the camera up makes the HUD impossible to view. Also it seems to be a hard stop while moving the camera view point backwards. You can't move it by key commands over some limit but you can move it by real ly moving backwards in real life than saving the view point with RAlt+Num0. 2. I am a non engineer but I noticed the plane flies for a while crooked after using the thrust vectoring and also the landings are a little difficult to keep straight as rudder seems... jumpy? Maybe is my bad flying.
  10. well... here is a bit of telemetry after a quick solo flight on the last Su-30... I couldn't afford 4090... a little more for it, a little more for PSU... but I can feel from all the bunch of garbage GPUs that are on the market right now for VR... 4090 is probably the least garbage... sadly. In 2024 I will try to increase the RAM to 64GB to alleviate a little the problem... not sure it would be possible with all these troubles around though... null
  11. OK... maybe a short description of the movie above because probably not many are watching. It's about a mod. A hardware mod. The guy replaced the knobs with shorter 3d printed ones because he pllays VR and the long handles on those knobs were in the way for him to reach easy the switches in front of the throttle. Those knobs are not just redesigned and printed in resin but actually contain new magnets so they reconstitue the HALL sensors. That nut that holds them is a 10mm nut. If replaced with self locking one it will not go anywhere not to mention that the shape and dimensions of the thread of those knobs can be now modified before printing. It looks like this in Blender.
  12. I tried to visualise your explanation without opening my Orion 2 throttle and couldn't really understand if it's a job worth doing. Maybe someone else is in the same boat like me and needs some more visual help. The videos of this guy on youtube are are more explanatory of how the hardware layout is. He is not talking about your mod... He designed new parts for different purpose etc... but in doing so you get to see very well what you might need to do to achieve what you did with your mod and what the original poster asked. Cheers.
  13. 1. Put mouse over them. 2. To improve screenshot and recorded video quality in Pico 4 make sure you set up the recording format to normal 1920x1080 format. No wider no extra FOV or resolution or any other bs. Chose one eye, 1920x1080p, 16:9, portrait. And also make sure you are up to date firmware wise. At some point they messed up the video and made those ugly vertical areas where image is garbled especially if you don't stick with standard FOV and HD resolution..
  14. Maybe it helps someone later. There is a guy (spanish but translation works great) that has several videos about disassembling and modding the Orion 2 Throttle and you can see the mechanisms inside the throttle base. It doesn't look complcated and maybe tightening or changing the nut with a self locking nylon insert one is all you need. He has a link to such nuts on amzaon in video description but everybody should know them.
  15. At what this software helps if Pico 4 has no eye tracking?
  16. go to oculus setting and set back Oculus XR as default. You can use XR Picker for this but if you are a beginner in VR take it easy. The field is vast.
  17. I think we need more emoticons to react to some posts ...
  18. There is no problem with my network. As you can see I have under 10ms and wifi 5 is easy able to keep 400mbs. Also Pico4 is not really able to use Wifi6 because it doesn't know 6a and 6 is not really that much better.
  19. A small-big discovery I made today... After having HAGS OFF since like... forever... because it was known to be a performance problem etc I turned it ON because I saw in a youtube (vrsim guy iirc) that sometimes it makes the micro-stutters disappear and... it did. From this: null to this (the second image is a capture from a video recording so is way worse quality wise but the graph is visible) Also I tested the "Low Latency" Settings in nv control panel and with it ON or set to ULTRA the "feel" was not as smooth as with it on OFF, However it was the only thing that Pushed the graph to finally show "GPU BOUND" instead of CPU BOUND" as seen in 3rd picture where you can see it's now green gpu bound. However, I prefer it on OFF. Now if only my GPU would have been a 5080.... PS Oh and the "pre-render 3 frames in VR" setting in nvcp also did nothing, added a very slight increase in latency but no improvements. So I'll keep it on 1 frame (default).
  20. And they asked 1200$ for it with a straight face...
  21. Before you return the Pimax Crystal if you can open it up and see if the panels are really using that huge space inside the shoe box that it is. I suspect the whole Crystal headset is just a joke coming from that radio shack of a brand Pimax has always be. Nobody had the guts to take one appart. Everybody kind of knows the truth but is afraid of looking at it.
  22. Lots of wrong information you can get on "internetz" these days. I have used Pico 4 firstly with my old GTX1070... Then I "upgraded" to my wife's 3060 :D. It was a tad better FPS and now I have a 4080 (with new system) and is significantly improved. I have an "old" wifi 5 (5GHz) router from my internet provider (Free... the brand is called Free, France) and works very well 99.99% times but sometimes I guess the 5GHz channel gets some interference and I can immediately sense it and if I look into VD performance stats I can see the networking latency spiking from under 10ms to 80-100ms and then I know I just need to do a quick restart of the router so it switches the channel. I also don't have any other home device on 5GHz ( )... everything is wired (PCs, printers, TV, TV Box) or on 2.4GHz (Phones, tablets). The most important thing I think is to know that if the netwoking is not keeping up the performance will be bad and it will give you the impression is the PC not being able to keep the FPS high enough or "strem fast enough" when in fact the bottleneck in the wireless connection between router and headset can mess up everything. To give you an example I can record with StreamLabs program on PC the image that the headset (pico4) is streaming BACK! to the PC after it has received it from the same PC in the first place. Meaning the game renders the image that is transferred wired to the router then wirelessly to the headset and then after displaying the image the headset streams back wirelessly the image from one eye (or both) at 1080p like a video server on the network and the PC picks it up on a webpage which is captured by the Streamlabs and recorded on the hard drive... live... while playing. Obviously it's not an optimal solution but the performance is not that bad as one might expect all things considered.
  23. I have a Pico 4 and it's awesome. Running it at 3120x3120 per eye wirelessly with Virtual Desktop. I had a Quest 2 previously and a Rift S before that. In your place with my experience probably I would buy a Quest 3. It's newer and Meta really does good lenses. And it's not really breaking the bank. There is a big bump going from Fresnel lenses to pancake.
