Ouch those prices. Kodomo stuff is overpriced to begin with, but that's just eye watering.

New "BUTTON_OFF" feature in DCS!
98abaile replied to scoobie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It's been in for a while. I think it was mentioned (but not really explained) in a news letter. -
Rename the executable back to DCS.exe. Right click on the executable -> Send to -> desktop (create shortcut). Find the newly created shortcut on the desktop -> right click -> properties and click on the shortcut tab. Add --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR onto the end of the target, make sure there is a space between the last " and the first -- as seen above.
-
Why have you renamed the executable? Rename it back to DCS.exe, the commands are ONLY appended in the properties window FOR THE SHORTCUT, NOT THE EXECUTABLE.

The short of it is it's the underlying code that handles VR. Previously DCS used to run steamVR. Then there was a community made app (open composite) that forced DCS to use OpenXR, and now DCS supports OpenXR natively. The reason this is important is because SteamVR is a massive bottleneck. Open composite (the community app) side stepped this issue, but relied on community support. Native OpenXR support means that we've removed a layer of abstraction in the graphics pipeline and the DCS devs are able to support VR directly without needing the community to fix things after the fact. In short, better performance out of the box.

I wonder what small fortune that will cost.

Gaming Chair - Recommendations?
98abaile replied to dburne's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
A regular car seat that you find comfortable or a comfy office chair. If you are thinking about getting a bucket seat or a "gaming chair", be prepared to spunk a load of money on something that has the ergonomics and comfort of a plank. Buckets seats are designed for cornering and crashing, "gaming chairs" are designed for fleecing rubes. -

Does anyone have an accurate 3D model of the ACESII ejection seat without the cushions. More specifically I'm looking for the contours of the seat pan and back rest and their relative angles. The aircraft it comes from or the particular accessory configuration are irrelevant, I just need the contours.
-
That's because you're doing it from the pilot's seat. The issue is with the CPG seat.

Mobiflight doesn't send keypresses to the simulator, it sends commands specific to the simulator or module. It's like sending a wind shield wiper command to a bicycle. You understand flicking the stem, but the bicycle just gets a simple command and has no idea what a windshield wiper is.
-
It's up to mobiflight developers (or contributors) to get mobiflight working with DCS if they want it. For now DCS uses a similar user made solution called DCS BIOS.

Any chance you could release those modified files? I'm at the stage where I'm ready to print out the gimbal. -

Ah, that explains why it wasn't working just now. -
Dunno, the game is CPU limited. Some of you people have money burning a hole in your pockets.

TDU and Left and Right hand grips 3Dprinting desing
98abaile replied to sagil's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I don't doubt that you did, it's just that most people try to make that value back over multiple sales. EDIT: In all seriousness though, $15 is a reasonable price for the STL files, not $120. -

That's awesome. If it were priced a $5 I'd buy it. -
Official ones are unavailable on amazon where I bought mine years ago. The knockoffs might work just as well, but for the price of them, you should consider alternatives anyway (or even DIY). https://www.trackhat.org/shop-cgnn https://delanengineering.com/shop/

Yep, same here.

With them previously spewing lies like a fire hose, I wouldn't readily believe everything you read coming from Ukrainian sources. More importantly, ED ISN'T a Russian company.

Read through the thread. TomVR posted his github with a 3D printable version of the base. -

Tell us about your print settings. I just started printing all the needed parts but didn't know how strong to make it. Currently I'm using PLA+ (stiffer than PETG) with 10 perimeters, 10 top and bottom layers and 10% gyroid infill. -

Does it allow you to press both trigger at the same time, or do they cancel each other out?
