Honey, I developed FFB joystick (DIY)
98abaile replied to propeler's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So I'm trying to figure out how to even order the PCB (because they sure as hell don't make it clear) and I managed to get a 3D view of the PCB (because I also can't figure out how to view the backside of it in 2D). That's when I noticed that there are components on the board (and I don't know what they are because I can't figure out how to find out.....) that only appear to be connected to the ground plane. Is the board on the github working or is it unfinished? https://oshwlab.com/olukelo/btn8982-three-phase-controller_copy_copy_copy# https://easyeda.com/editor#id=961f5e5f9c364d169f6ebd1324297b1b These are both sides of the same area, all three components are connected to the ground plane in the left image, but all the top vias are connected to nothing. If they're not required, can they just be removed? -

I was wondering if I could get an answer to this? -
I've had to adjust it once. I adjusted it when I first got it to be just on the point of falling down. Then a couple of days later when the temperature cooled it got loose and I had to tighten it again. Frankly I had expected this anyway and consider it a design limitation; it's why I went with virpil over VKB in the firstplace all those years ago: I hate dry clutches, they're a stupid design that introduce sticktion. Thankfully I have a 3D printer, so at some point I'll be looking to add a counter weight (probably a side plate replacement) to take some of the load off the clutch.

My biggest gripe with the Ka50 controller is that it's way too easy to actuate the centre push button when actuating any of the hat directions.

Just got my shipping notice.

So would this solution work with any game that supports FFB? I see mention of firmware but no software; I'm wondering if the control board could be repurposed for an FFB yoke I was planning on building. -

If wiring them in a Y configuration increases the power, it would also be nice if we could use smaller motors in a smaller package. -
I raised a ticket to try and get a replacement magnetic sensor (one stopped working). That was on the 9th of May. They've given me a price and I've accepted it (for 3 sensors and a control board as I plan to design my own joystick base), but they've yet to ship it (claiming brexit is causing a problem with small orders) and I've asked if it can be included in my collective and seat mount instead, but they still haven't got back to me after I've asked multiple times.

Just checked them out. They can't be that good of a company if they're charging the same as the scalpers.

What's that thing below the stick?

Sorry to bump an older thread, but since you're creating seperate binds in both SRS and DCS, does using Ctrl+Mic switch still trigger the SRS mic? Or can SRS tell that you used Ctrl+Mic even if the modifier was not set within SRS itself?

DCS Detent Calculator *Updated for the F-15E and Special Options*
98abaile replied to JCofDI's topic in DCS Modding
Fantastic idea, well done. This calculation should be embedded into the game officially. Just tell it you physical detent position for your particular throttle and let the game automatically set all the curves for every aircraft. -
I haven't actually done much online gaming on it, but I have had success with 4G on a vodafone contract.

I've noticed that the hands that appear in game seem to be originating from the rings of the controllers rather than accurately simulating where my hands actually are on the controller. Specifically, the lower part of the virtual cuff is where my thumbstick is in real life. Needless to say this feels like holding onto some sticks with plastic hands on the end and is quite cumbersome to use. This issue seems specific to DCS as the controllers in WMR and steam portals are in the correct locations and hands in other games e.g. The Room VR are in the correct position and feel very convincing.

AuthentiKit Spitfire MkIX Flight Stick Version 2
98abaile replied to Spit40's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Awesome work. The design seems like it'd be fairly easy (albeit with different electronics) to redesign for modern jets too (the split axis reminds me of the F18 and F14 stick column). I'd like to see this type of split axis modified to fit virpil's desk mounts and able to fit either one of their or thrustmaster's grips. As it is currently, it could very easily be made to fit a virpil desk mount simply by changing the mounting block. -
How much? This is the make or break question.

MFG Crosswind F-16 combat pedals

What are they printed out of? Are they solid or do they have infill? What sort of price range are you considering? -
Tried searching for "VR kneeboard" but it turned up nothing. I figured I'd just try "VR" instead which should get me hundreds of hits and still nothing. I then tried searching for "a10" and nothing again. I can only conclude that the search function doesn't work.

So in the steam VR settings, set the resolution to 50%?
