For be honest, i was a bit affraid to imagine the P51 alone on the DCS A10 environnement at first.. But dogfight, and convoy attack are allready really excellent, i will like see a environnement more " WWII ", more plane models ( a BF109 or a Zero ) ... But at least the feeling is here, the flight model is really good ( even if perfectible ), and attack a convoy with the P51 is a pure joy. The work on the IA is absolutely excellent ( making a lot more easy to fight real player finally ) who was not surprised the first dogfight ? The P51 was still used in troop defense in the Vietnam ( the early years ) .. It was a good plane in the WWII ( the best and was the only one able to escort the bomber in the heart of Berlin with his additional tanks ), but his different version have really make this planes a good planes even when the first "jet" was appear for close support .. I will so much like get a Corsair against some zero for a dogfight.. ( or fly the zero for once ).

I will need this one lol ... im more used on modern air combat fight even if i have a complete admiration for the old pilot times. Damn, a Jet is really more easy to fly in thoses close combat fight of a propellers...

what is working well is the scissor, I was surprised to see the AI really follow the movement. ( The AI in Dogfight really surprise me a lot.. )

( on my memory i was wait the Ins Nav is completely aligned before engage IFCC too, but as i do the startup by memory, lol not sure it is needed ) -
Actually i use the 8.931, i have not experience any problem in DCS so far, but i need say i have not got so much time to play lately. You can find it too on Guru3d ..

what driver exactly are you using ? AMD have release only one official driver so far for 7900, the 8.921 ( who have been released with a second version the 25/01 ) http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/RC11Driver.aspx But it exist 2 different betas, the 8.951 and 8.932.... ( the second is for the CapVerde ( 7770 ) and Pitcain ( 7870 ) release and include offcourse the 7950-7970. its the one i test right now ) Anyway, does it happend too with a single monitor ? ( i dont have this bug but sadly cant test under Eyefinity too )

Maybe if he's unable to follow the order, this can mean he just not have the weapon you have ask him to use: no more mav. or bomb etc.., try a different one.. I dont know but he follow my order easely in general.

Be sure to set Anti Aliasing setting in CCC to " controlled by Applications ".. or you will get real problem of performance ( like if you have 2fps and pause between them of 5-10sec ) .... ( it make a conflict with the AA of the game ).. Set AA quality to MSAA, be sure the Adaptative/transparency and SSAA or MLAA are not checked. ( use TSSAA in game setting for transparency. ) I can bet this is what you have experience or your Antivirus give problem.. you can leave AF to 16x in the catalyst or set it as appliccations controlled. with a single AMD 5870 i was able to get decent and smooth fps with thoses setting. ( with modded ground textures HQ + view distance, who are the same setting i use right now ) I use 4x or 8x MSAA set in game. for be honest i have not really test with higher. I have not test the 12.1 driver with the 5870's, but 11.12 was working fine. -
Agree. Well the term photorealistic is coming from late eighties, when the innovation of graphism was imagined as photorealistic ( basically, you cant make the difference between a photo, or a movie with what you seen in 3d).. The term is something purely general... the result should look close to reality. as an image should reflect the reality. this is what we can call: photorealist ( anyway on the chair, but the backside is too blurry ( note the image is extremely reduced in precision, the inital was a 4K )

yes, this is the good thing, we can barely try and train when we want. ( Aka jump in the plane when we want ) New pilot will pass hours with the manual, and theorical class, learn nearly all the manual, procedures word to word before have some hours of training with the DTS.. We are lucky, we have the possibility to train when we want. and dont have to pas all night with the manual in our room, before can train anything.

I think they have understand the problem with the code. But its stay the code are not there for nothing... F= fighter... B = Bomber I will have been interceptor ( if the Blackbird have been accepted as the first and only Interceptor from US, instead of becoming RS and then SR )

U2, SR 71 aka Blackbird ... ( note the blackBird was initially called YU12 and should have been called RS 71 ( for recon and strike ) untill the president Johnson use the name of Strategic Recon ( SR71 )... and the name have been keeped then by Lockheed Martin.

Just for the easy: - "River raiders" ( the bunkers ) is easy. - "Surrounded ! " is quite easy and a good training, there's some basic and the difficulty is increasing slowly. A M1A2 Platoon is defending a small town, there's little enemy platoon who will appears, on 3 differents points ( right, left, under them ( or East, West, south ).. the first are just tank or BMP, the second is a convoy with 1x AAA.. etc.. They follow the roads, so they are not hard to find... ( just make anchor first your wingman in a safe zone, then you can even use it for destroy the different convoy after have silenced the AAA )

For peoples who complain.... maybe you have not see this is a " side " project, called flying legends ... this is not the next modern air fighters who will take place following the DCS A10C ... If you dont like old planes, props, dont buy it... you will wait for run the next DCS "modern fighter" ... so the discussion about " it will have been better with x or y ". This is a no sense there...

you are right, i remember too manual say to cut it passed a certain speed for take off, and power it, when you are under a certain speed on landing.. Note on landing, you will mostly land on the back gears, and then push ( or let the nose go down as you decrease the speed ) .... i dont want to correct anything with the NWS under a certain speed .. more wind.. more time on the back gear and specially you push the gaz before hit the ground. you hit the ground smoothly. The last pressure give the plane the correct forces for stay aligned. ( sorry my english is a little bit bad tonight, hope it is understandable ) This is a landing with big wind ( no visibilty and on ILS ).. at this point the gaz are off Now the the gaz are push to the maximum as i approach the ground, i have correct the descent with increasing the gaz, for finally be at max level...when the wheel hit the ground i will cut the gaz and the nose hit smoothly the pist. the weight and the inertia of the plane do the rest... Normally, lateral winds, speed, down speed are the factors you have take in account before be on the ground. your plane should not have to be corrected when you have hit the ground, the way it run on the landing pist depend on what you have done before the plane hit the ground.. ( its not a car, he have a damn weight and a big inertia due to the propulsor, its good to use it at your advantage )

Huum for take off, the only thing is to dont too much use the wheel for correct the position brutally... you want just to be kind with it, and it will never break ( i never disconnect the NWS and i have never break a gear ) ... same goes when you are landing off.. you will just start correct when you start use the break, ... other than that you should not have to correct anything. your plane should be aligned before the nose wheel touch the ground. If your landing is perfect, you should not even have to correct it when you start break. Just be kind and nice with it... its a plane, not a drifting car.

I completely agree with that... maybe we can call it... " nostalgy and respect ". Personally, give me a F4U Corsair ( Papy ) , a P51, a Spit and i think i will be like a kid to play with it...

Huum, im sure if you fly the warthog, you can only love the P51 .... its not really as the warthog can do Mach 3... The Warthog is a gun with wings, dont forget in WWII, they had mostly only guns. One of the idea behind the creation of the warthog, was to replace the old ground fighters who have been used till the WW2 through the vietnam in close troup support. During the vietnam wars, planes as the P51 was still used for this mission, they was slow, ( too slow for the mig ), they was flying low, and they was perfect for attack ground targets ( soldiers, bunkers, line of vehicule )... for a long time, all have been put to create multi role hunters, but no one was perfect for close support. Before the warthog. Anyway, i like the idea of the P51, this plane is a legend, it can only have a perfect place in the series, Flying legend.

Yes i like do thoses ILS landing too, its funny how a little thing like that can become really pleasant to do well. There's 1-2 airport who increase the difficulty with zero visibility ( and wind ), if im right this is Vaziani or Mineralayne Vody: they have mountains all around, and under you... if you are too low, or if you are not well aligned, you will hit the mountains. its allways a nice moment to see the forest and the mountain appears in the fog around you.

Use F10 for open the radio menu and contact him, but only if you use simplified communication ( in settings menu ), otherwise you need to set the good frequency, and then contact him.( hotas mic up )

Really nice Mitch, i really like the sand one ( 1st ) and the thirds is absolutely genius. The second dont really fit my taste, but thats personal.
