  1. So uh, for those who own it, how does it perform online? I imagine nobody is attempting to shoot down fourth gen fighters with it, since that's suicidal with exception to highly unlikely circumstances. Mostly chopper and ground pounder hunting with some strike missions on the side?
  2. Tim, would you happen to know the functions on the HOTAS for this plane? It seems very simple in comparison to most fourth generation aircraft, with the throttle looking almost barren. Is there a lot of clicking around the cockpit to be done in comparison to the A-10C or what have you? Granted, I can't see the back or side of the throttle nor the back of the stick.
  3. Excellent, this looks like my kind of jet! You have my money. Hopefully it'll be ready by next summer since university is going to get in the way until then. Cockpit looks very nice. Never seen a combined AI/HI before. This is the 2000C S-5 cockpit right? I assume the glass cockpits are for 2000-5 and the ones without the RWR are the earlier C models. EDIT: nvm, checked original post, it matches up with this exactly.
  4. I never saw it mentioned on here, so I thought I'd bring it up for anyone looking for more footage. If you check the past broadcasts tab he's got more videos there too. Click here. That Grom took an impressively huge chunk out of a frigate. Pretty cool missile I gotta say.
  5. According to wikipedia, earlier 2000C's couldn't carry them, but Mirage's after the 37th to come off the production line were updated to carry Exocets as well as a bunch of other equipment. Did RAZBAM state which sub-variant they were modelling? Only having a few weapon options would hurt my interest in this module.
  6. Looks very pretty. What A/G weapons can the 2000C carry?
  7. How much rudder do you use with the MiG-21 compared to other planes? Is it like the WWII props or the helicopters in that you need pedals to fly, or does a twist stick do the job?
  8. Does every odd thread need to reiterate the F-15 versus MiG-21 argument? Yes, the MiG can win, but only highly unlikely and stupidly lopsided circumstances. Okay, so I'd use it against helicopters, warbirds, and turboprops? Good to know. Is the R-3R the best SARH available or is there something better?
  9. So to anyone playing the game, what are your impressions for each of the A2A missiles so far? I've mostly seen the R-3S get used in videos, which is the weakest IR missile to my knowledge. What is the R-55 like? I can't really find anything on it. Is that SARH? I also noticed Bluedrake had twin R-60 launchers for both the inner and outer pylons. Is this a mistake? Because I've never heard of that before, I thought it could only mount twin launchers on outer pylons. I guess this means you could bring 8 R-60's to the party? That's a decent amount of firepower.
  10. I suppose I'll get to fly for a bit during Christmas break.
  11. I won't get to fly it until next summer since university starts next week, but I'm glad everyone seems to love it.
  12. I kind of wanted the AH-1S to begin with, but if they're going to make the G variant, I'd like them to do with Whiskey version next. The S version would be treading over similar ground and doesn't add too much variety, while the AH-1W adds a lot more variation to the sim.
  13. Fiction faction, huh? Interesting! Paint scheme reminds of a CF-18, having several tones of dull gray with a fake canopy on the bottom of all that. I noticed it's carrying a nuke. Are we going to be dropping a nuke in the campaign? I'm okay with the idea of that, but I'm more curious about how such an action will be justified and how the decision to use weapons of mass destruction will be represented. This must be a very high intensity and high stakes conflict. I'd like to be able to role play a bit, and not have the campaign just stop if I disobey orders and refuse to drop the nuke, even if it means running away or being jailed for life.
  14. Forgot about it. There last update was 4 months ago, so I can't say I'm confident in it being released anytime soon. I'm pretty confident in the other ones getting released in within a couple years at the most however.
  15. As far as I know, the British Hawk, the Czech L-39, the Spanish C-101, and the French Alphajet are all currently in the works for DCS World. They're all pretty similar aircraft that fulfill the same roles, being advanced trainers and light attack aircraft. Out of the 4, which one interests you the most? The Aviojet team is very productive and active with the community, and the weapon options on the C-101CC are quite impressive. That has the most of my interest right now.
  16. Quick question: where is the HUD? You mentioned you were doing the C-101CC on this forum, but the cockpit looks like the EB version. Are you doing both?
  17. I hadn't heard of a C-101 prior to this module being announced, but I'm really interested now! Looks like we'll have plenty of mission variety with this bird.
  18. Final testing already? Well that was quick! Blink of an eye by DCS standards. Great work for both the C-101 and for being active with the community.
  19. So the MiG-21 is being bundled with 1.3.0 which will be coming "later" this year? I won't have the equipment or time to play DCS while in university which starts in toward the end of August, so I guess I won't be flying the MiG-21 until next summer at best. Great.
  20. Pretty good for strike missions I imagine. Load up a flight with pairs of FAB-500's or Kh-66's to do some heavy damage, two or four R-60M's for self defense or taking out other attack airctaft, and a centerline tank. Skim the mountains to your target, pop up at the last moment, blow up your target and drop your fuel tank, and sprint back home to gear up again.
  21. The MiG-21 can carry a bomb on the centerline, can't it? Because I think you could try this for a loadout with a full gun load: 2x Kh-66 on inner pylons 2x UB-16-57 on outer pylons 1x FAB-250/500 on centerline Drop a bunch of targets on the 'ol abandoned airstrip and take off at the nearby airport and show us all these different weapons, with some gun strafing included. Would be a pretty great way to show case the A/G capabilties of the MiG-21.
  22. R-55? Wat dat? Can't really find information on it, besides the fact that it's a late 60's improvement on RS-2U with SAR instead of beam-riding. How does it perform in comparison to the other missile Cobra? I also can't find much on the R-13M1 except for that it has different forward fins than the R-13M. How much of an improvement is it?
  23. Oh, didn't check back that far, only went a few pages. Bunch of people we're saying it was cancelled without linking the statement, my bad.
  24. Can't say I'm surprised at the lack of a livestream? Why do you guys even give us dates if your can never make them? It's clear you're all working too hard on the MiG-21 to do anything but continue working too hard on the MiG-21, as I can't actually recall a single announced date for an information release being met this year. It disappoints the customers who, in turn, express their disappointment and make you feel less appreciated. It's a lose-lose situation. Be realistic, developing a module is very hard and unpredictable work, and because of that, you'll probably end up missing any date you try to make as has been proven so far. Just release the information when it's ready, don't tease us about it. The amount of customers you can lose due to being a little more quiet isn't going to be any more than the ones you can lose from the distrust caused by constantly missed announcements.
