  1. It might roll to the left faster because the turbojet spins that direction?
  2. I'm glad you found problems with it, much better than the MiG-21 being a performance killer by default.
  3. I'm surprised that between all the first impressions I watched, from YoYo, Bluedrake, Jive, Ralfidude, DDG, Bunyap, PC Pilot, SimHQ, not a single one of them mentioned this problem which is pretty significant. Has this only become an issue recently?
  4. Experiencing a 50% drop in performance compared to other aircraft is pretty ridiculous, you'd think performance requirements would be part of ED's standard of quality. Upgrades usually cost hundreds do dollars after all.
  5. Any updates on this project? Looks like it'd be fun to fly.
  6. *puts on hipster glasses* Airbus and Boeing airliners are too mainstream. *puts on toque with a red maple leaf on it* I prefer the Bombardier C-Series. :P I'd rather fly a Boeing, but I'd rather be a passenger in an Airbus. Airbus tends to make better look planes, A380 aside.
  7. I can't find any incidents involving combat between the F-5 and MiG-21, but I'm curious as to what would actually happen if they did. They are both fairly similar in being popular multi-role light jet fighters, but which would you say is the superior one in the various roles they can do or scenarios they can find themselves in? Dogfighting, interception, air-to-ground, etc. To be more specific, we'll go with the later MiG-21bis Fishbed-N since this forum has been obsessing over it recently, and the F-5E Tiger II with its mid-life upgrades (such as the AN/APQ-159).
  8. Error on the top of page 149 in the English manual. Active is spelt "cctive." Great manual, I'll read it when I have time.
  9. The F-5E Tiger II would be an excellent match for the MiG-21bis!
  10. Their look at the Huey beta was hilarious, EVER BEEN IN CHOPPER, DAVE?! I'm pretty sure a site as big as Giantbomb can buy one themselves if they want to faff around with it,
  11. Uh, yes, tons. Lots of tons, the P-47 alone is 6 tons. We have 2 props from ED now, with the BF-109, P-47D, and Spitfire Mark IX on the way. ME-262 possibly as well if you want to count non-prop WWII aircraft. And then VEAO has the P-40F, F8F Bearcat, and Spitfire Mark XIV on the horizon. There is no shortage of WWII options down the road, so I'd rather Leatherneck stick with Cold War/Vietnam era aircraft.
  12. I was a backer, but I think I'll give you some more money regardless.
  13. That would be a bizarre choice honestly, on account of being incredibly out of place and not really offering anything new gameplay wise. WWII carrier operations aside, which would need several other assets modelled. We already have a ton of old prop planes here or on the way and none of them are designed for naval aviation, so it's lacking for historical opponents.
  14. Is the Bunny Fighter skin going to be available? It would be best livery in DCS!
  15. Gorgeous pit, I could get used to that view very easily. Looks like the HUD and the screen are still in the works. What functions does the MFD manage? I assume it's for navigation and radar.
  16. Just a recommendation to the Aviojet team. I think if you can find any information on how the Sea Eagle or AGM-65 was supposed to be implemented, you should go ahead and implement them. Other developers (VEAO and LN as far as I know) have admitted to taking some minor liberties in realism department for the fun factor. DCS operates in an alternate universe after all and plenty of fictional elements are already there. A C-101CC Aviojet having some minor software and hardware updates to outfit more powerful weapons prior to being sent to a war in Georgia is quite reasonable. You'll anger the most hardcore of the hardcore, but most people will appreciate the gameplay variety. Being able to stand out among the other trainers will bring you more cash as well.
  17. Excellent pictures! Any idea what the buttons do?
  18. A year ago I didn't seriously think this day would happen, but I'm glad it did. Great job everyone at LN, take a break, and maybe wipe away that sweat with the $50 bills you'll hopefully be drowning in. Can't wait for the next project announcement! (which I'm guessing will come Soon)
  19. Wait so is the Virtual Patriots L-39 a separate project and ED is making their own?
  20. That's my ideal option actually but it isn't an option given by the OP.
  21. Are we getting Mavericks and the anti-ship missiles by chance?
  22. When I finish University in 2016, I'm going to be coming back to a DCS that makes the current version look like an indie game in comparison, and that excites me. Tons of aircraft from every era and four or more theatres to fly them in. Great update guys.
  23. I've set myself on the career path of a pilot and have already put tons of money into it. I've acquired my PPL and night rating along with 93 hours of flight time, and I've already payed the expenses for a semester at a university. I just moved into my on-campus residence today actually, and I'm mostly set up for the year. One of the first thing I noticed during the mandatory community meeting was that everyone there was rather extroverted, and most of them were party animals and athletes to boot. Aviation and flying machines has been the closest thing to passion of mine since I was a little kid, but I never thought to check if the career fit my psyche. Now that I'm studying up on pilot personalities, I realize I don't fit the norm nor the recommendation. If you're not an introvert, I'll try and make this short. I don't have a problem with most people and I can have plenty of respect for people I don't get along with. Unfortunately, that that doesn't change the fact that most social interaction makes me physically sick and I find even small talk to be incredibly draining. Telling me to "just go out and make friends" as if I desire to will accomplish about as much as telling a homosexual to get attracted to hot girls. With that out of the way, is there any jobs for a pilot that favor introversion and have fairly minimal social interaction? Stuff like ATC doesn't bother me since that isn't like small talk, it's just procedure that is part of the job. I don't care if it doesn't pay a whole lot in comparison to other careers, because an enjoyable career is more important than a high paying one. Thanks in advance.
  24. I can't really find anything on the stick and throttle for 2000C, or any version of the 2000 for that matter. I can't really find any photos of it either, but from what I have seen, it looks really simplistic compared to other fourth generation fighters. How does it work?
  25. Not necessarily the most impressive or educational, although they certainly can be, just the ones that are the most entertaining to watch. Personal favorites of mine: . Any to share? Just to make it easy on people with slower composers, embed one video only. Any more than that, and just hyperlink them.
