Thrustmaster Warthog for DCS:BlackShark
Xeno426 replied to STP Dragon's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Bit of a resurrection here, but the OP's link is broken again. Anyone willing to mirror it? -
Next DCS (Russian) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Xeno426 replied to Milene's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Or get ED in trouble with Russian anti-espionage laws. -
That'll coincide nicely with when I plan on getting back in to DCS myself, then.

See, the problem you describe already exists as an option; turning off the checksum. Since that already exists, it can't be what I'm talking about. The key is that phrase "set certain files to have several allowed hash checks" in my post, which is why I included it. Essentially, one file could pass the checksum if it had a hash value of x, y or z. x would be the vanilla file, while y and z would be the versions found in two approved mods. Trying to do your own mod to one of those files would change the hash value of the file, and thus would be blocked by the server. Hell, ArmA has had a system like this for quite some time with their bikey files. When making a mod, a modmaker can make a personal key. Using that key, they can generate a special key file that with a hash value determined by the files in the mod. Servers can add keys for mods that are allowed, and should a file in the mod be modified without the key being regenerated, the hash check would fail in that mod and the server would reject it.

Very cool work. It would be nice if servers could set certain files to have several allowed hash checks so that we could use this mod on servers without issue.

Looks like OP needs to move his images to Imgur.

Heh, Jane's Fighters Anthology had the ability to switch into the 3D game mode to see exactly where something was being place, and the ability to move that object around while in that mode. Kinda sad when a 20+ year old game has some better map editing features than something from today.

While I prefer upfront myself, I would be careful about taking the comments of a few people on the forums; you'll be getting a very biased sample (only people registered and active on the English forums) rather than a good idea of how many people would pay the larger up-front cost vs people paying the smaller upfront cost and then paying more later to get the "better" version. Given how disgustingly successful free to play games are, I'd be more inclined to think the latter would net more money.

Can't the mod be changed so that it does this calculation itself? I find it hard to do decimal conversion in my head within the 10 seconds or so that the text is displayed.

Well, that Su-15TM is pretty cool, but I doubt we'll see a module for it seeing as it had a very limited role. Still, it's cool that there's the possibility of getting good technical info on that particular aircraft. The other two are a shame. I was hoping for the Su-24M or Su-17M4, since those would be two really cool aircraft to get modules of.

A-7E requires you to have Flaming Cliffs or the A-10A module.

[RETIRED] ME Aircraft Payload Preview Overhaul
Xeno426 replied to uboats's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
This is both disheartening and great. Great because I really liked this feature from LOMAC, and it's nice to see it in the game again. Disheartening because if a mod it being made for it, it's unlikely ED is doing anything to add a similar option natively to the game. I understand ED moved to the loadout card when they split the exe into two file, but with the unification I thought we'd see a return of this feature. -
Sorry, I'm not in a position to test things out at the moment. That should be the correct folder, though. Were there any other files that original mod edited or added? The file you posted basically duplicated the gun entry for the F-15, but put the fire position on the opposite side of the aircraft by reversing the signs on one of the position values, which is what I did for the Su-33 and Su-27. If that doesn't work, there's likely something else interfering, possibly the model itself.

I'm not quite sure why you want this, but it's a pretty simple change. I hope you're using JSGME to install this, because you won't be able to join servers with this installed. aircraft_guns.lua

I'm trying to code into a TARGET profile a 5th mouse button keypress. However, I can't seem to find anything beyond left, right and middle buttons. Is there a workaround, like a USB HID key? I've been searching online for a while and have not managed to find any info on this.

Next DCS (Russian) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Xeno426 replied to Milene's topic in DCS Core Wish List
No, they are not the same plane. The J-8II is based on the MiG-21 modified for two engines. -
I'd find it far more interesting to be able to perform buddy lasing for fixed-wing aircraft on bomb delivery, assuming that's something that could be done in real life.

Too new. ED wouldn't be able to get all the technical details required to make a proper module. Mi-24P? Shoot, no turret. Too bad it wasn't the Mi-24VP. Or some kind of FAC system for REDFOR countries. We've got an R-800, but no purpose for it outside of the JTAC mod. Is/would it be possible in real life for a Ka-50 to illuminate a target for a KAB-500L dropped from a Su-25? If so, that would be pretty fun to see.
