I seem to recall that a lot of those cluster bombs on older systems had to have the airburst set while on the ground. Ideally, we'd have some kneeboard options for that.
-
I'd just love for damage to knock out systems without always knocking out electronics. Give us a reason to use some of those backup systems!
-
Still classified? Quite odd, considering the systems needed for the A-10C and F/A-18C seem available enough to put them into those modules. What about the information is so important that they remain classified, I wonder.

Problem is that just because the Iranians managed to fix the weapon to the airframe, doesn't mean they managed to integrate them to the onboard systems. They might have tried, but that doesn't show they did. There's also the question of how the heck they are integrated; how do they interact with the radar and onboard systems? How is information displayed? I mean, I'd love to see some of this equipment added, but one has to wonder if the F-14s capable of using any of this kit didn't also receive lots of other changes or upgrades that further divorces them from the original 95-GR specifications.

Honestly, it would be nice to be able to choose if the wings are folded or spread, kind of like the cargo ramp for the static C-5 in the Military Aircraft Mod.
-
Man, I'd be happy with just this mod as an improved model of the Su-30 we already have in the game. That thing needs replacement.

Also, keep in mind that if you hold the IFF button without a target bugged, the DDD will display targets in azimuth vs range rather than aziumuth vs velocity (which is the standard for the PD modes). You can change the range the IFF displays in by hitting the range buttons next to the DDD. Either while holding the IFF button or while in P Search mode.

Currently, when cold starting on a carrier, the F-14's wings default to fully open. This invariably causes collisions when other aircraft spawn nearby. Ideally, a cold-start F-14 on the ramp should spawn with wings at full sweep to prevent these collisions, rather like how the F/A-18C will spawn with wings folded when spawned as cold start.

I did not know the F-14B(U) was a thing. Are there any sources you could name that discuss that upgrade?

The part where is goes "The selected position of this switch might negatively affect target tracking and engagement if set incorrectly. " How might it negatively affect tracking and engagement? What kind of targets are we talking about? An F-16 vs an F-14? If the target is in a 5g turn, which would be better? If the missiles is further away from the target when it goes active, does it have a larger cone to find it? If you know the target is going to try and maneuver hard before the missile hits, would "small" be a better setting?

IFF MODE 3 thumbwheels and IFF SWITCH test
Xeno426 replied to JTFF - kiloWatt - VF84's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'll add to this. SRS can display the current IFF code settings. According to SRS, the MODE 3 value changes correctly, but the in-cockpit wheel slowly moves between 0 and 9 without ever actually completing the transition. Instead it makes tiny increments from 0 to 9. -
Kind of irrelevant. If people don't actually have a B side, it *still* shouldn't crash. That's still a bug. And not everyone knows there's not actually a "B" side; they just see that's an option in the keybinds.

Sure thing!

Running request - Bindable Button / Axis options
Xeno426 replied to maverickturner's topic in Bugs and Problems
Now that the Target Size switch actually has a use, could we get some keybindings for it? Especially those nice "x, else y" binds for Warthog three-way switches. -
Really cool to see that the target size switch does something now. However... I can't bind it to anything. Could we get some of those nice three-way switch options in the keybindings? Or perhaps someone knows how to implement this by editing the current lua files?

I've had a similar issue with both the F-14 and AJS 37. One of the HB lighting updates a couple months ago did this. In the past, I would always turn on the cockpit instrument lights to make them more visible, even in the day. Now, turning them on does literally nothing unless it is completely dark out. And the AJS 37 gauges all have a slightly blue tint to them. This has been rather troubling for me. I'm on a lower-end machine, and it really helped to make the gauges easier to read without having to really zoom in.

[Collections] What you want to be able to bind in keyboard/device
Xeno426 replied to uboats's topic in JF-17 Thunder
If that means the master caution and the chute 3-way switch (as two separate commands for use on Warthog 3-way switches), thank you. -
AIM-54 Changes / new API fixes are live in today's patch
Xeno426 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Can PDSTT reacquire targets? Say a target notches and breaks lock; if the RIO re-acquires lock, will it be able to continue guiding the Phoenix or will the missile be trashed? -
[Collections] What you want to be able to bind in keyboard/device
Xeno426 replied to uboats's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Agreed, the new axes are very nice to have. Still would like a keybind for the Master Caution button, and a few keybinds for the three positions of the braking chute (ideally, a setup for 3-way switches like what Heatblur does with theirs). -
Hmm, kind of a shame. I liked the cockpit mod.

Have you tried the zoom in/out axis? -
Probably related to the launch rail, which needs to split the data appropriately to the missiles. For instance, just because an aircraft can carry the twin AIM-120 launchers doesn't mean anything about the AGM-65, because that requires the LAU-88 for multiple missiles.

Posted recently...but not here, where it would be actually relevant. "It's real, guys. Trust me."
