It's a 29, his fuel state was probably Master Caution. -
Bindings for Afterburner Enable and Disconnect?
umkhunto replied to borchi's topic in MiG-19 Farmer B
Spent about an hour looking for this. This is rather an annoying thing to not have bindings for, especially that it is on the throttle quadrant. -
I can't agree that the problem was access to testers and youtubers. The problem is simply a massive sense of entitlement felt by the community that think because they paid 70USD a couple months ago, they now have agency in the development and release of the product. This isn't kickstarter nor gofundme. And they would do well to understand the difference.

Don't know why you are persisting with this discussion. Nineline confirmed in this very thread that the updates to the Ka-50 will handled exactly like the warbirds' were, at no additional charge. Nobody in this thread wants stuff for free, nor have they gotten anything for free. Most people in this thread has paid twice for the Ka-50, the exact same module, with nothing new. So it is understandable that people do not want to pay for the same thing a third time, hence the pitchforks and torches came out. Customers are NOT okay with it. I'm not sure if you work in the software industry, but in case you don't, it functions vastly different from any other industry. Regardless of whether you're a multi billion dollar publishing studio, or an independent developer and publisher. Making customers pay several times for the same product is NOT how money is made in the software industry. That's how you close shop. You make money in software, with new products, not trying to sell the same thing more than once to the same customer. (Which is what BS2 was, exactly. There was nothing new in BS2.) Every single one of your analogies falls flat on it's face and is borderline strawmanning. You are comparing paying for Windows Vista and Windows 10, as being the same thing as what we have here, when it isn't the same thing. That comparison is apples and oranges. BS is a current supported piece of software that people have paid for. There is nothing free about that. A fitting analogy would be: You've purchased Windows 10. Microsoft then maintains the software via updates and service packs. The updates and service packs do not come at an additional charge. This is exactly what the graphic update and fixes to the Ka-50 and A-10C is. Nothing new is being introduced. It's software that must be maintained. There is nothing "free" about maintaining the software, and ED bringing the Ka-50 and A-10C up to the standard of 2.5 modules, isn't work they are doing for free. This is work that is budgeted for and is included in their overhead, which is covered by the regular sales of existing modules and new modules. ED is getting paid.

Awesome. Thanks for your input, Nine, and calming the nerves.

It definitely was not free at release.

That is EXACTLY what BS2 was. Exactly. It was borderline extortion. BS2 was a minor change to graphics, and compatibility to 1.5. If you didn't get BS2, you were stuck in 1.2. That was all it was. No new weapons, no new systems, no new missions, no new campaigns. It's not fear mongering, nor in bad taste, if this is exactly something ED has done. As a community, we should vigilantly resist any attempt to make the cockpit updates for the Ka-50 (and A-10C) a paid update. If it is an appreciable change, i.e. a Ka-50N, then I would have no problem paying for a separate module, but expecting us to pay for the Ka-50 for a THIRD time, just so they can fix their screw up with the cockpit lighting, is totally unacceptable.

Thank you for delaying the Tomcat for another 6 months. Just couldn't let it go, could you. Happy?
-
Well, the only ones that matter, anyways.

umkhunto replied to TheOtherSider's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Download and use Ricardo HD cockpit mod. It provides a work around for the lighting stuff. Unfortunately it's a must have mod until ED updates the Ka-50's cockpit. Regarding the ABRIS' language, that is set in options in the main menu of the DCS client, under gameplay if I'm not mistaken. Set avionics language to English. -
The main disadvantage to more weight is inertia that needs to be overcome. E.g. Doing an aileron roll in the Tomcat, will require that you counter the roll sooner to roll level, that an F-16 would. Something people keep forgetting when they see large fighters such as the F-14, F-15 and Su-27, is their wing loading.

Wind in DCS is incorrect from the ME and briefing page. It's a near decade old issue that has not yet been fixed. in game, all info for wind, as observed by the platforms that can give the info, such as the Viggen, Ka-50, ATC, etc, will give it you correctly. You can easily test this by setting up some smoke markers in the ME, setting your wind and starting the mission. The wind will blow in the opposite direction from where you've set it. I.e. the wind will be reported the direction where it is blowing FROM. The ME and brief sets the wind where it is blowing TO. Heaven only knows why ED has not fixed this.
-
Hahahaha... 104-0 baby. Try again, try harder.
-
That is false. I've flown several sorties with a flight of 4 Viggens, where all four of us loaded the F10 markpoints created by the lead. If you can see the markpoint on the F10, you can load it. It doesn't matter who put it there.

[Mig-21][SP] The Brezhnev Crash

That did the trick. Thanks for the campaign, enjoyed playing through it. -
When did you last fly the Viggen? The Viggen has consistently received updates every week, Last week the new radar went live. I don't think I've seen a single beta patch go past, without there being a slew of Viggen updates.

It seems I can't complete the campaign. The mission, I expect the last mission, requires the destruction of a bunker with GROM missiles. I've attempted the mission twice, successfully destroyed the bunker and the surrounding units, returned to base, but the result is 0. Not sure if I'm missing a trigger or something. -
No thanks. I like that when I see an F-5 I know it's hostile.
-
I dunno man...

Requiring TDC designate to be depressed to slew is just stupid beyond words. I hope that gets changed. Nearly impossible to use the depress function on the WH's slew control and slew the Mav's seeker. Frustrating enough that I'm not even flying the Hornet.
-
Oh god, please tell me it's going to get changed, that you don't need to hold the TDC button down whilst slewing. It's nearly impossible to use that with the TMWH slew.

[Mig-21][SP] The Brezhnev Crash
umkhunto replied to leonardo_c's topic in User Created Missions General
Cool. I spend most of my time in MP and then take a break every now and then to play some SP campaigns. There aren't much options for the MiG-21 and I am very keen to give it a go. -
