That's quite an odd statement. In the year of our lord 2018; how can being connected to the internet be a problem? The harsh truth is, MP community is what gives longevity to the sim. In fact I struggle to finish my purchased campaigns, because I keep flying more and more online.

You mean the one in: DCS World\mods\aircraft\AJS_37\Doc?
-
Tungushka will shoot at it. Haven't tested other systems yet.

Okay... How?

C'mon, you know good and well know if you don't vote HARM, you've voted wrong.

Are you referring to Falling leaf, as in the departure from controlled flight, made infamous by the F-16, or something else? The falling leaf is when there is departure from controlled flight, where 3 axis of opposing input is forced at stall speed, which the FCS can't compensate for. The FCS's attempts to return controlled flight exacerbates this condition and the aircraft departs. The reason it's called the falling leaf, is because the aircraft mimics a falling leaf, rocking back and forward whilst falling out of the sky. The FCS (In the case of the F-16) continues to return the aircraft to controlled flight, but just worsens the problem. The aircraft can't return to controlled flight and none of the pilot's inputs have an effect to return from the departure. The F-16 (In BMS) is easy put in this state of departure; get slow, apply back pressure to nose up, hold the attitude then apply opposing roll and yaw input. If you do it correctly, you'll depart. Make sure you're at 20 000 - 25 000ft when attempting to the force the departure to practice recovery. I've had several attempts to get the Hornet in this state, but have not had any success. I've accidentally put the Flanker in this type of departure. It's possible you simply can't put the Hornet in this departure, due to advances in the FCS. After all, the F-16 was the first proper go at FBW and I guess the Hornet's FBW is bit more advanced that the F-16, thus it can actually contend with 3 channels of opposing input and not depart in this manner. Or I could just be wrong. I was surprised to the see the Flanker do it. Fortunately from Falcon 4/BMS experience caused me to immediately recognise the type of departure and I correctly assumed recovery would be the same as the F-16: - Throttle idle - FBW override - Match the nose of up/down position with corresponding control input. I.e. when the nose drops down, push the stick down. When the nose rises, pull back on the stick. - Continue this "sea-saw" rocking, until the nose drops, and stays pointed down - does not rise again. - Allow IAS to increase until above stall speed, apply power, pull up to level flight. - Re-engage FBW (disengage FBW override.) You need a good 15 000ft to recover from this departure. It takes time to recover and you just need to be patient. If you're below 15 000ft when you enter this type of departure, eject.

If I already own 2 of the helos in the pack, what happens when I purchase the pack? Does it have separate keys? Would it be possible to give the duplicates to people I fly with? If not would be a bit of a waste. If it is keys, would a steam user be able to use them? Guy I fly with often is a steam dude, and he already has the Gazelle, so I'd like to give him the Ka-50. Another guy has the Ka-50, so I'd give him the Gazelle. I only need the UH-1 and the Mi-8.

** DCS: F-14 Development Update - September!! **
umkhunto replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
When you consider the Viggen's cockpit, I expect nothing less. -
I can't seem to get my head around this. This was my flow: I connect ground power and put in the cartridge. I then open my kneeboard, page to the custom cartridges, and a mission pops up to kill a Shilka. Okay, I load the cartridge with 9099. What now? How do I know where my target is? How do I know which waypoint? This was on the Hoggit GaW server, which does include preloaded waypoints for the bases and farps that need to be attacked, and I was sure it was using those, instead of the custom cartridge... Or was it, I don't know how I can be sure.

Ah, okay. Thank you. So if there is only one target, or the targets are widely spread, you should switch to enkel, instead of grupp.

The SA-19 is not IR guided. It's command guided. This is the reason the missile is unaffected by flare countermeasures. It's what makes it such a scary platform. Most platforms will never get a launch warning (either laser guidance warning or MWS) and standard decoys do not affect it. The radar is used for search, track, and gun solutions. If you spend time in the KA-50 or A-10C, you will get a laser guidance warning on you when the Tunguska is about to fire.

I've only fired the RB-04 in the training mission. I've always kept group targeting on and not seen problems. Is there a problem with group targeting that I've not encountered in my small sample? I'm busy learning the Viggen, and am focussed on navigation and bomb delivery modes at the moment, so I've not spent time with the ASM's outside of the training mission.

I wonder if the folks who preach "just trim it bruh" is under the effect of a placebo, or are they just flying a different Hornet than me...

Thrust reverser problem in DCS 2.5.2.20601 Update 9 open beta

Okay so I wasn't just imagining it. I started feeling like a crazy man, each time I landed. -

You should check out Hoggit lots of static target locations with some procedurally generated ones and the servers sees regular activity. -
Su-25T vibrations on the ground and seemingly weak nose gear...
umkhunto replied to umkhunto's topic in Su-25 for DCS World
I'm not convinced. A week or two ago I could land it fine, in low visibility with heavy cross winds. Now I can't, without killing the nose gear. The biggest tell tale is the massive vibration I now experience while taxing from the ramp. All the guys I fly with complain about the exact same thing. Vibration during taxi, nose gear made of paper. I'll make a track when I have a chance. Unfortunately until Harm it's the only real option for SEAD, which is the only reason for me to fly it. I prefer using the 25A for redfor bomb truckery. -

Thanks, I'll have a look. -
Su-25T vibrations on the ground and seemingly weak nose gear...
umkhunto replied to umkhunto's topic in Su-25 for DCS World
I'll modify my parameters and test again. Each of my recent landings was with about 40-50% fuel and winchester. -
I'm not sure whether this should here or in the DCS World 2.5 sub, so feel free to move it if you deem necessary. Running on OB: I'm curious whether other people have noticed the extreme amount of vibration while taxing in the Su-25T. Also, the nose wheel feels extremely fragile. (Maybe this is what's causing the vibration at taxi.) I would say since about a week ago, maybe more, I've noticed the vibration and have not been able to land the 25T successfully, without losing the nose wheel, even when at 320km/h with about 2-3m/s rate of descent, especially if there's a cross wind. I've also lost the nose wheel under braking whilst taxing.

It would help if the tanker was flying about 20kts faster. However, the only real advice one can give you in this situation is practice, practice, practice. There is no "easy" way to do AAR.

> DCS Community cries for 2 months can't use AIM-7, demand AIM-120. > ED gives them the AIM-120. > Community immediately cries about not having a pitbull countdown and shooting friendlies down because following ROE is difficult. Oh you guys... Please, never change. :D
